I purchased these shoes because I am having pain in my right hip and leg - and that is being reviewed by MD professionals. To help myself, I thought I need to start from the ground up and eliminate anything that is exacerbating this issue. I needed to purchase a good walking shoe. I was wearing athletic shoes for walking. I think these are more sturdy and I have noticed less pain while walking. They are not very attractive, but in winter and with slacks they have a "boot look". They do have arch support, and I would say that is moderate. I purchased my regular size 8 W and there is room for a good sock in winter. They are too roomy for nylon knee highs.

Fit was absolutely perfect! The shoes were delivered within 2 days of ordering as promised. The day UPS delivered it, it was pouring rain outside and they put the package in a clear plastic bag so the shoes would not get soaked. I received first class service from the beginning to the end. Thank you Zappos!

I love these shoes! They fit perfectly, especially since I have a wide foot with an ankle that tends to swell.

Addiction walkers have always worked out good for me. I have high arches and they have good support.

I have worn this brand of shoes for probably ten years and I don't think I will ever wear anything else for sport wear and/or walking. Despite weak ankles that give me concern about footing in street shoes, I very seldom worry about tripping or turning an ankle whenever I wear these shoes. I will often even wear them outside during light snowfalls. They are extremely comfortable and easy to put on, even the first few times they are worn.

After trying about seven different styles of New Balance -- a brand that has always worked well for me -- I decided to try Brooks, size 10 AA. The shoe is quite comfortable. However, I need one with a raised toe box and haven't found one, so I plan to keep these and have the shoemaker stretch the toe area. The rest of the shoe feels good. I hope this will work, otherwise, I'm out $120!

Having a congenital foot issue along with a job that requires hours of standing and limited walking, it's been difficult to find a shoe that provides the width, support and comfort I need. Well I finally found it in the Brooks Addiction shoe. The support with other shoes was lacking and I often went home with aching knees and sore ankles. This does not happen with these and although the comfort is not exactly as I would like, I'm able to take care of this with a pair of inexpensive insoles. Plus they just seem to get more naturally comfortable on their own as they are broken in. I hope these shoes are always available for me to buy!

Purchased for nursing job with narrow feet. Very hard to find such high quality comfortable shoes that my heels don't pop out of.

I usually wear size 9 and this shoe fit true to size. I ordered size 9.5 because I have a pair of Brooks Ariel's which were 9.5. I had to return the 9.5 and get a size 9 which fit. I have narrow heels but this shoe is great because it is not slipping up and down on my heels. They were comfortable right out of the box. They do make your feet look a little big but I love the comfort.

I ordered the Brooks Addiction Walker in 10 1/2 2E - extra wide. This is the same size and width as the Brooks Adrenaline 16’s that I’ve been wearing for the past two to three years. I was frankly quite surprised at how much bigger the Addiction Walker is. Apart from that, the shoe seems well to be made. I’m thinking about re-ordering in size 10 E.

I order 4 different company's "walking" shoes, looking for a good fit, some style, and a lot of support for extended days of walking at Disney. The Brooks won my try-on test. These fit well and have great support. True to size with just a little wiggle room in the toe box. Comfortably padded tongue and heel collar. Seems like they'll keep my feet from rolling inward. The style is meh - white leather sneakers. Not hideous but not cute either. The overall comfort could be improved with a slightly more padded insole. I may add something like a Dr. Scholls insert just to make them a bit softer inside.

These shoes (I bought them in a 12 2A) seemed a little narrower than shoes I normally buy in 2A, but that was just fine with me, as the size I usually wear is a 12 3A. I can only wear a 2A in shoes that have laces. I needed to replace my walking shoes, and I also needed a shoe that had a stiff sole, since I broke a toe and was under restrictions not to bend my foot in the toe area. These fit the bill. I did have a little bit of a problem putting them on the broken foot unless I loosened the laces a lot. My previous walking shoes (New Balance 13 2A) allowed me to put the broken foot in more easily, but they also allowed the toes to bend too much.

Been wearing this shoe style with my orthotics for years. Still fine. Very supportive. No complaints. I do order this shoe 1/2 size larger than my regular size.

I have been buy the Brooks Addiction Walker for many years. It is one shoe you do not have to break in. They are comfortable the first time you put them on your feet. they have no problem accommodating my orthotics. It's too bad that they don't make them in different colors like taking the white and adding accents of color. Jazz them up!!

I don't buy any other brand.

I have problem feet and the Brooks addiction is about the only brand that works for me. It is deep enough for orthotics and wide for my problem toes. They are stable and keep my feet from turning over. They are a little heavy but I can put a new pair on and wear them all day right out of the box. I wish that Brooks had a few more styles to choose from. I would recommend these shoes!!

the Addition walker is starting to be the one shoe I want to wear all the time. the fit feels great and I like that it seems to help me walk straight. I have ordered a 2nd pair and will be shortly ordering a 3rd pair so I have one in each color!

I used to wear these all the time for plantar fasciitis. Then I bought more stylish shoes and added orthotics. After a recent fall, I bought Addiction walkers again. Perfect fit and a lot of stability and support that I really need now!

I love these! I have been dying for an all leather shoe. The 2E was roomy enough in the toes and the size 9 ran true to size but sadly I am returning them because I still overpronate in them , seems I cannot wear anything but neutral shoes with orthotics.
The insoles were really disgustingly dirty so I would have returned them anyway, Zappos needs to work on quality control.

These shoes are great! I had to send back the women's 10EE because they were just a little bit too small for my feet with bunions and bone spurs on the big toe joints. I have been wearing these shoes in the men's 9 4e and that is the size I need to stick too. My problem with the 9 4e's is that they are a little on the big side however they are the most comfortable shoe I can find at this point. I guess I need the wider width in the men's to be more comfortable! Don't hesitate to buy these shoes if you have foot problems as they are really a good solid walking shoe. Zappos is incredible. I don't know what I would do w/o them!

I've been having a problem with plantar fasciatis and these shoes are recommended for good support. They fit very well, but had too much support for comfort. They were so stiff that after wearing them for a few hours my feet (both feet, not just the problem foot) felt tired and sore. I have to return them. I give them a 3 for style because white athletic shoes just aren't very good looking.

Podiatrist recommended for posterior tibial tendonitis. Great shoe for that problem. Motion control with removable insoles to allow for custom orthotics. Rigid, heavy shoe, not your average walking shoe, but just what I needed. Comfort is hard to judge, since my feet are anything but comfortable right now. They do help reduce the pain, so that's good! My size is hard to find, so I was glad Zappos had this one in my size.

I have been wearing Brooks Addiction Walker for about 8 years ever since my pedorthist recommended (size 7EE) with my orthotics. I used to wear Saucony Progrid (7EE) also great fit for my foot (wide toe/narrow heel/high arch). I underpronate, so I need shoe with support for suppination. Just to explore suppination shoe and more stylish options, I tried Brooks Ghost (7D) -too small all around - and NB 1080v8 (7EE) -toe box too shallow. So I went back to Brooks Addiction Walker. As my pedorthist explained, to support suppination, shoe needs to be firm on outer last when you press or have last with wide toebed. Brooks Walker has more solid support though Saucony Progrid has wider toebed. And, while wearing my new fresh Brooks Walker, I was stopped by women inquiring about my cute shoes! I guess they're finally becoming fashionable. Ha.
