These aren't hiking shoes by any means. They seem well made but they are not comfortable and even though they look nice on the website, they are ugly to me. New Balance needs to work on their line of boots. Their other shoes, cross-trainers, running, walking, they are very good. I have also tried a pair of their boots and they were very uncomfortable. These will also go back to Zappos. Zappos has great service!

Perfect - easy to pull off and on. Very little arch support though. These are comparable to ugg boots as far as arch support. They are warm and comfortable otherwise and you can fit baggy jeans in to them.

Works for me- I am 6'2" and wear a size 12. Finding a shoe/boot that fits is always a hassle. These felt great right from the start. I feel like I can spend a whole day walking in them. I am beginning to wish they were a little taller for some snow protection.

ZAPPOS REVIEWS ARE BS - I have checked thousands of reviews at Zappos. Not a single one is negative. You better ignore these reviews, they are written by confederates, and they are not real.

Lovely shoes, but too small to be of any use. New Balance has a history of making shoes that are not side enough in the forefoot to the as wide as they say they are. These were supposed to be 4W shoes, and they are not. I bought them a full size larger than my usual, just to see if that worked, and it didn't. There are some NB shoes; the ones they make for janitors and postmen, that stretch out in the forefoot and can be worn by people with wide feet, but it baffles me that NB continues to make shoes that claim to fit people with wide feet and do not.
