I love this jacket. It's lightweight yet warm. It's perfect for the Chicago winters. Wish it were cheaper but totally worth the splurge.

It was a nice jacket, but not for me. Too big - sizing seemed different from other TNF coats. Sizing down probably would have been a good idea, but still wouldn't have fixed the length issue, since, on my 5'3" frame, it longer than it should have been for that style. It went back.

I'm 5'6" and a size 14. I ordered the XL in black, and it's a bit roomy. I would have ordered the L, but they were sold out of that size in black. It's a much lighter coat and lighter fill than I expected. It's very comfortable and it looks nice on, nicer than I expected. I'm West Coast, so I don't need anything for freezing temps, and was looking for something to keep me warm on nights that range in the 45-60 degrees when I have to sit for long periods when my son plays sports. The arms were long enough which is usually the test for me as I hate coats that are too short in the arms. I'm on the fence if I will exchange it for a L in another color before they sell out. Overall, it's a beautiful lightweight coat (comes to my knees) and I do like it a lot. I will keep it, just not sure if I should exchange for a smaller size.

I love this jacket! It is not heavy but warm, and the fit is flattering not bulky looking. Plus, Zappos had it for a great price! The only con is the zipper sometimes gets stuck. It can be a pain, that is why I only gave it 4 stars overall. I am 5'3 and 130 lbs and the size small fits great.

Just received this in the vibrant blue. I was a bit afraid of the color, but I was tired of all my black coats. Love the color and the coat fits me surprisingly well. I am 5'2" and 130 pounds and I ordered a medium. I usually try to find petites. The sleeves are just a tad long (about an inch or so) and they can easily be turned up a bit. The length fits me to my knees. It is very comfortable although I don't think I could fit a lot of layers underneath. I would need a large for that. I am going to return the coat, however, because I do not think that it is warm enough for me. I tried it this morning at 30 F with little wind while I walked my dog. After 15 minutes I felt that my shoulders were cold. I should add that I get cold easily, so it may work for those of you who do not.

This is a great coat and a must have if you live in the northeast. I was skeptical b/c of the price, but waited for a sale and glad I did. Very warm cozy jacket. I am 5'6 and 125lbs and between sizes, the xs is bit too small in the hips and the small a bit big in shoulders, think I will stick w/the small so can layer underneath. My only complaint is that the hood is not very deep and barely covers your head. Only other suggestion to Zappos is to show the size the model is wearing when they hold up their measurements. Love the free shipping and free returns!

I love this jacket. I ordered a small and it fits perfect. I moved from California to Virginia and this is keeping me very warm. The only bad thing about this jacket is the down feathers that come out of th jacket, but I think this is expected. I have a down comforter and it does the same thing. It's not a lot of feathers but some hear and there but managable. This jacket is not a slim fit but the small works. I had not issues with the zipper like others had. The zipper is one of those ones with two zipper and you have to get it matched up right to get it to zip properly. I ordered both the brown (S) and the graphite grey (M) and the small fits me better. Both colors looked great but the grey didn't have a small. I'm 5'2" and 140.

Very nice warm parka! It runs a tad small, but not terribly. I purchased the small and it is a little 'fitted' along my hips, but I kept it because I can still zip it and I plan on losing 20 lbs, and then it will fit perfect! Can't ever go wrong with North Face.

I bought The North Face Metropolis and the Patagonia Down With It. The quality of the Patagonia jacket is so much better than the TNF Metropolis. The zipper on the Patagonia runs so smoothly. The zipper on the Metropolis is very sticky. It took me five tries to finally be able to zip it up. I hear many say this is a manufacturing issue. I hope it only affects a few batches. Also, I read some comments that TNF's quality has gone down hill recently. Also, feathers/down keep popping out on the TNF jacket. I have been wearing the Patagonia Down With It for two weeks and I haven't seen one feather yet. I originally intended to keep both the Patagonia and the Metropolis. But I ended up returning the Metropolis due to its disappointing quality. Maybe without the Patagona, I wouldn't feel so bad about the Metropolis. But the quality contrast is simply too big to ignore.

Sizing was good - I'm 5'8" with an athletic build and the medium was right on. Styling makes this a very cute coat and I really wanted to keep it, but embroidered on the left sleeve is the number '600', meaning the fill. While I can deal with the North Face logo on the shoulder, this notation on the sleeve totally takes away from the cuteness of this coat. Had to send it back. Thanks Zappos for being so awesome about returns!

I love this coat but my only concern is that's only 30 days old and I am shading feathers. I expressed my concerns with Zappos and I am going to return this coat today! I love this coat so much that I am going to purchase a new one with the hopes that wont shed any feathers anytime soon. I talked to a coworker that purchased the same coat and she hasn't lost not one feather and has washed her coat several times. I sure hope the second time around is better than the first.

I purchased this jacket based on my friends reviews. I was really excited to get it since I had a problems with my Guess down jacket - losing down and to be honest this one has the same problem which I'm not happy with. Don't know if I got defective one or what but I'm pretty disappointed with it since it's not cheap. My friends don't seem to have that problem and after reading some of the reviews I didn't find nobody complaining on that which makes me thinking if my jacket is not defective?

Had been looking at this coat for 2 years but couldn't justify the cost. Bit the bullet and ordered. I continue to have issues with the zip as a number of people have stated. Also the coat releases feathers all over which makes it look as though it has white dirt over it. It is warm but not as warm as I was expecting based on the manufacturers details. The filling is uneven and practically non-existent in the cuffs. On the plus side, it's a sharp looking jacket but definitely not worth the price. It is not as warm as they claim.

Love the color, but this coat is losing so many feathers, my car seat is turning white. Also, not windproof or really warm.

I finally thought I could take the plunge and adopt the uniform of all conforming people and wear a North Face coat. This coat has everything I need - length, weight, fit...but alas, there is a logo coming and a logo going. Too much for me. Back it goes.

Although warm enough and very lightweight, the shell of this coat seemed very thin and feathers were always poking out. In addition, due to a manufacturer flaw, the zipper on my Metropolis was sometimes difficult to get started. I returned mine and purchased a similar coat with another brand name.

Beautiful coat but the zipper never catches. I would not recommend this product. I love the style but what good is a coat if doesn't zipper the majority of the time. A big disappointment.
