Living in west cold and snowy Michigan this is the warmest coat I have ever owned just love it being older with some health issues feel cold intensely this coat keeps me warm without any bulk.

Love this parka. Wore it the first time this past week with -2 temp and -26 wind chill. I felt so warm! It's longer than my previous TNF parka.

This parka is very comfortable, stylish, and warm. I have not yet tested it in really low temperatures (like below 10-15F), but I am guessing an extra layer underneath will do the trick. I think this parka runs a little large. I am 5'3 and about 118 lbs and the XSmall fits much better than the Small. The length is perfect, hitting right above the knee. It is also super lightweight so it won't weigh you down. I am pretty happy with this parka!

I just wear my 2nd Parka coat for 2 days. I got my 1st NF metro parka in classic black from Zappos a little more than 1 year ago. I basically wear it every day, everywhere during the whole winter time. Due to the very high "utilization efficiency," I decide to get 2nd one in grey. There are feathers coming out from both of them but much less compared with other cheaper brands. Anyway, I am happy with both my purchases. Again, Zappos' one night shipping rocks!

I am 5'3 and this coat hits right at my knees. I ordered a small to have some extra room for layering but probably could have gotten away with the extra small. Very warm and fairly flattering. Can't beat the Zappos shipping either, it shipped out on a Monday and was delivered by 9am on Tuesday. Very pleased.

Love this coat! The color is beautiful, a little less vibrant than the photo. Very warm, comes to just above my knees, so I am completely covered!

Love this jacket. Got the one in Teaberry, which seems to be like a new light raspberry shade. I already own this jacket in vintage white, but wanted the Teaberry color. So I gave the white one to mom and got the new one from Zappos. This really is one of the best winter coats out there - and this time of year, when you walk around DC, you see lots of women in these coats. It's warm yet very light, and it's windproof - and that's a rare combination. For me, up to about low 40's, I can walk around in this and a t-shirt underneath. Any cooler, and I will probably need a sweater, fleece, scarf or some other thicker layer underneath. It's also good-looking - even mom has gotten a bunch of compliments on the white one, even though it's about 3 years old. Got the usual great Zappos service - received next day.

I received this coat today. I LOVE IT. It's perfect for Michigan winters. It does a nice job of regulating my body temperature. It's toasty outside in the wind and cold, but I don't overheat in the car. I'm 5'9" and a size 20 and ordered the XXL and it fits perfectly. I feel a little marshmallow-y, but it's still flattering. Actually looking forward to more cold so I can wear this coat!

I love this coat, great warmth and comfort. I really like how lightweight it is. Often you end carrying a coat in a store etc, and this is not bulky at all. I have been out walking dogs in windy, cold weather and it has kept me warm. We have not had very cold weather yet this year, but it does seem to have good wind protection.

Ok so I bought this jacket and The North Face Woman's Transit Jacket to decide between the two and I decided on this one. The metro is lighter, a little less fitted, less structured and a little bit more roomier through the middle than the transit. The transit would be perfect if I wanted a more tailored look. I am 5'2 150 pounds (top heavy) and just had twin boys and the size M in the metro is perfect! I purchased the grey (I wanted black but they were out of my size) and i love the color, (the picture doesn't do it justice) it is more off black or soft black but it is really nice and will go with everything! warn, cozy and light weight. Oh and there is room to wear a sweater! I'm happy. :)

This is a great coat! Out of the box it does seem thin and I was skeptical at first, but after spending a very cold weekend outside at a soccer tournament, I'm sold! Temps were in the 30 to 55 range and windy. Any colder and I might even wear a light fleece jacket underneath for added warmth. I bought the XXL size. I am 5'4 and 200 lbs. The picture shows it being above the knee and looks very small on the model to me, but this coat falls below the knee on me. I wanted a longer coat and couldn't get the Triple C in a XXL, so I ordered this instead. Overall very happy with this purchase. Sleeves are about an inch too long but I was able to roll them up one notch and it is fine.

This coat is the ideal winter parka - so warm without excessive bulk, and great length for maximum maneuverability.

Nobody makes a petite-size American woman build down coat - but this is the next best thing. At 5'2", 91 lbs its hard to find good looking down coat. I couldn't believe how nice this coat looks on a petite - everything is longer, sadly armholes hang lower, but something about this cut makes it all look good. I bought it in Squid, a soft rich blue-toned red. It drapes beautifully! It is not fitted on a petite as the pictures at Zappos appear. Best winter coat for daily subway travel in New England cold. Washes up sweet, air fluffs dry. My one complaint - the white logo - visually offensive.

I love this coat. I have it in shiny black, regular black, and brown. It's a beautiful coat. I'm 5 feet so it hits me on the knee. I would recommend it to everyone. North Face is the only coat that I wear.

After a weekend of bitterly cold Minnesota weather (think -30 wind chills) I decided not to hold out on purchasing this coat any longer, and I could not be happier! Warm, cozy and cute, to boot, the Metropolis parka is perfect! I am 5'7" and 135 lbs. and I ordered a M, which fits perfect with a big sweater underneath. The brown color is lovely too. I originally wanted the black but they were out of my size and I'm so glad! The brown is really pretty. I'm almost looking forward to the rest of winter in this coat!

By far the best purchase I have made in a while. I usually get very cold, even when it is what most people consider warm out. On days when it is truly frigid out, I would avoid going anywhere if I didn't have to. Ever since I purchased this coat (in gray/medium) I have no problem going out in any temperature that the northeast offers. It really keeps me warm and I love the length and fit. I have received many compliments on the coat and been told that they have been looking for a coat like this one. I highly recommend the coat. It fits great with sweaters underneath and the length on sleeves is great. Worth every penny. Zappos was great because they let me know when it was available. When I first wanted to order it, they were out of stock, but within a day or two they notified me they had them in. I received very quickly from them. Great site to order from!

I'm back to add part 2 of my review. I've now had this coat for a few weeks and the temperature here in Boston has finally dropped, hovering in the 20s. While temps in the 20's is cold, it's not all that cold for Boston...so I'll see how warm this coat is in January and February. But for now, I love this coat! It is indeed pretty wind resistant! The warmth is spectacular given its light weight. The hood is wonderfully deep (as I mentioned before). The pockets are very large, deep, and zippered, which is so very useful. I found the M size to be perfect for my 5 3 curvy frame with plenty of room to layer with sweaters and doesn't look overly bulky. Definitely worth the money. I gave it 4 stars for style only because it could use a bit of faux fur or something to jazz it up a bit in the looks department. But that's being very picky. Zappos rocks! I have been ordering shoes from Zappos for years, but this was my first time ordering clothing. I love you, Zappos!

I got this in the graphite and I love the color. It's a nice change from black. The style is nice too and it's not very puffy at all. I wouldn't have expected it to keep me warm but it did. And to top it off, I got into a rainstorm with it and it handled the rain just fine. It has a water repellent finish and a hood. I'm happy with my purchase.

I'm so happy with this Parka! I wore it for the first time yesterday with 20 degree temps and wind, so warm. The fit is slimming and not bulky at all. Liked it so much I also bought the shorter version. The swamp green is a great color. A mixture of dark brown & green depending on the light. Unique!

I adore this coat! As a teacher the winter months are harsh. Recess duty, car rider duty...I am constantly outdoors. This stylish and warm jacket makes it bearable. I'm 5'6 and about 140 and the small fits me great. I wish I could wear it all the time! Can't wait to try it out when I visit my in laws in South Dakota!

I love this jacket. It's lightweight yet warm. It's perfect for the Chicago winters. Wish it were cheaper but totally worth the splurge.

It was a nice jacket, but not for me. Too big - sizing seemed different from other TNF coats. Sizing down probably would have been a good idea, but still wouldn't have fixed the length issue, since, on my 5'3" frame, it longer than it should have been for that style. It went back.

I'm 5'6" and a size 14. I ordered the XL in black, and it's a bit roomy. I would have ordered the L, but they were sold out of that size in black. It's a much lighter coat and lighter fill than I expected. It's very comfortable and it looks nice on, nicer than I expected. I'm West Coast, so I don't need anything for freezing temps, and was looking for something to keep me warm on nights that range in the 45-60 degrees when I have to sit for long periods when my son plays sports. The arms were long enough which is usually the test for me as I hate coats that are too short in the arms. I'm on the fence if I will exchange it for a L in another color before they sell out. Overall, it's a beautiful lightweight coat (comes to my knees) and I do like it a lot. I will keep it, just not sure if I should exchange for a smaller size.

I love this jacket! It is not heavy but warm, and the fit is flattering not bulky looking. Plus, Zappos had it for a great price! The only con is the zipper sometimes gets stuck. It can be a pain, that is why I only gave it 4 stars overall. I am 5'3 and 130 lbs and the size small fits great.
