Based on other reviews, I ordered the (XS) and (S). Couldn’t comfortably slide waistband over hips (humbling). Had previously ordered - and kept - the wide leg pants by same maker in (S) and am very happy with those (true sizing). Trying again for M in skirt. Fingers crossed! I’m average bodied, 5’6”, 128 lbs.

The sizing is right for me, and the fit of the waist can be adjusted (thanks to the drawstring). I love the material, which washes well and holds up well if you are careful. After 20 or so washes, the fabric does get thin, so I suggest using cold water and Woolite and hanging it to dry. As many folks comment, the length is not dependable, so if you are tall like me, and like to get something longish, order a size up.

I have had XVII skirts before and they were great! This one was too loose in the waist and tight in the hips- so I am just sending it back….

Love this style and color. Great for travel. Fabric is totally easy to care for. Runs big, size down. Just buy it!

Skirt runs big, size down for tighter fit or get your normal size for looser fit. I own 4 flavors in this skirt. Love them all and quality it top notch!

I love these skirts, and, if you're familiar with them you'll know the sizing can be dodgy. I ordered the S/M. It was a bit snug at first but has stretched to feel more like a medium..(I'm usually just a M) I didn't want to go with the next size up as that may have been too big. XCVI says to size down as it runs big, I wouldn't. Sorry if I sound like Goldilocks. It's on sale so it was a good buy??

I have purchased these skirts in many colors and styles . On this particular style skirt I’ve ordered them in medium and large. Over time the large stretches and it wants to fall off around my waist. I’ve gotten the medium , at first it is a little snug but overtime it will fit perfect. I must add the measurement and fit varies. 5’8. 175. I have narrow hips so I love the style

Ordered this skirt one day, received it the next--great Zappos service as always. I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered a Medium (one size smaller) and it fits perfectly. Can't wait to wear it. I'd seen it on 2 friends and know how nice it looks, also what a great travel skirt b/c you can simply fold it in thirds, roll it up to pack, then wear it right out of the suitcase. One friend took 2 of them on a 3-week Asia trip and just about lived in them. I will probably buy it in other colors eventually. Got the White Sand this time--a versatile warm weather color.

The medium fit the best - I'm 29.5 " waist and 38 hip. I also ordered a small based on other reviews indicating size variance but it was too small. Unfortunately the skirt style did not flatter my straight shape, nor did the color moonbeam no matter how much I liked the skirt since it appeared to be a fun, easy piece to have in my closet. I might try another color. Thank you Zappos.

100% cotton shirred navy blue midi skirt with odd tulip shape and not alot of stretchiness through tummy & hips- runs small & I would handwash in mild detergent cold water & hang to dry- the only reason I am keeping it is because I am still losing wt. & I have a tunic to cover mombelly.

i ordered two colors in small, both fit the same.. lots of room in the waist (once i managed to get it up past my hips) and easily tightened with the drawstring, but ultimately too snug around the hips and abdomen for my taste. stretchiness makes it comfortable enough but this sort of fit just isn't my style. it hits below the knee, which i like, but the fabric on the bottom length of the skirt looks a bit sloppy. i think a medium would be too long and too big in the waist. i can see how this skirt might work great for others with a different type of figure though, just not mine

This had a weird fit. It was super tight on my bottom and then flared out around my calves. I would normally order a medium, but it said to order a size smaller. I'm still not sure that a medium would have looked good, but I at least wouldnt' have had to send it back. If it helps anyone size correctly, I'm 5'7" and 145. Should have gone with my gut and ordered a medium.

Fit is very small. I’d size up even two sizes. The hip measurement on the size M skirt I received is only 34”. - not even close to what the website shows. It might have been cute if I had been able to get it past my knees. Great idea but definitely not a $60 piece of clothing.

Not only was the sizing inconsistent as others have noted (I wear a medium and a navy small hung loose) the skirt is essentially shapeless Easy return.

Loved this in the photo but in person it looks like a Roman shade, kind of stiff horizontal pleats, no softness. Had to return.

I ordered my first skirt in this style over a year ago and wear it all the time. It drapes beautifully, is comfortable, my favorite skirt. Recently I ordered same skirt in brown, size M as before. It was an entirely different skirt: tight, no flow, short. In the meantime I had requested an alert when the navy was back in stock & received an email indicated that it was. I ordered the navy in Large. First, the 'navy' was actually a muddy brownish green, the same as my original skirt. The Large was smaller than the Medium brown. I have since returned both. As usual, Zappos has been terrific and stated they would look ino these disparities. In the meantime, I would love to order one or two more of the double shirred longer skirt, but fear it will not match site photos and be a repeat of these last two skirts. Not giving up on the XCVI yet! Styling is so terrific.

I have several of these exact same skirts (length, fiber content etc all the same) in different colors. The sizing is WAY OFF on this particular skirt. It is cut and sown unevenly and basically would not fit anyone. Bad quality control. I am trying again and hopefully the next Medium will not be defective.

This was NOT flattering on my curvy figure, and seemed too small. I notice other reviewers commenting on the wide variations of sizing, and maybe I received one that was smaller than it should have been. I returned it

I love this skirt . It runs a bit small tho. I can get in it (L) but it’s tight. It stretches some. It’s lovely .
