I bought this jacket for my trip to Paris. It is extremely warm and doesn't feel heavy at all! I am 5'3" and 130lbs and bought the small. It gave me the perfect amount of room to wear a sweater underneath. Oh, and the fit is superb. It's the most stylish down jacket I've seen that doesn't cost $800!

I don't usually holler online, but in this case I'm going to make an exception: I love this coat! And I love Zappos! First, me: I'm 5'8 and wear a size 12/14, depending on the cut. I have relatively long arms, a curvy body, . Also, I am 50+ with a well-worn copy of the book "How Not To Look Old." In other words, I'm old enough to demand comfort, warmth, and good quality, but young enough to care about not looking like I'm wearing 8 pounds of potatoes under my coat. Plus, I'm Canadian and so have plenty of experience in the down parka department. The coat: Lightweight, form-fitting without being snug, well made and nicely styled to match my curves. The tags say "slim fit, designed to be worn with a base layer or a lightweight mid-layer." Because I want to be able to layer more than that under it, I bought the XL...perfect! The sleeves are long enough, the hood fits properly on my head, and it comes to exactly where I wanted it, just above my knees. I'm tempted to buy another one and tuck it away for when this one wears out. Finally, Zappos: I ordered this late on a Tuesday night and it arrived on Thursday. Everything about ordering online with Zappos is easy, consistent, and super-service oriented. If I didn't love my job so much already, I'd see if they were hiring. They're the kind of company I'd like to work for.

I absolutely love this coat! After searching seemingly every possibility for the perfect Lon down coat, I settled on this one. It is perfect and worth the price. It is not too bulky, has attractive shaping and the dual zippers let me unzip from the bottom when sitting. There are no blazing emblems either, so it is great for work too. I am a size 8-10 and rather hippy but the medium is perfect.

I love, love, love this coat! The look is so flattering and it's nice and toasty. I ordered an XS. I'm 5'2" and 115 lbs. it fit perfectly! Worth every penny and thank you Patagonia and Zappos.

I live in Southern California, but may have to travel to a cold northern climate. I liked this style because it has the warmth of down, but not the bulky look. It is also very lightweight and easy to pack in a suitcase. I am 5 feet 2 inches, with a small upper torso, a high waist and a pear-shaped form. A-line styles are good for me. Normally I wear petites, but this parka only comes in regular sizes. I bought a size large and there is room for a sweater underneath. The parka is not tight on the hips and comes down below my knees. The sleeves are a little long, but I can roll them up at the cuff without too much bulk. The top of the neckline comes up to my chin. While this gives some neck protection from the cold, it could be a little more comfortable where the zipper meets at the neck. The hood could also be a little nicer looking. In general, though, I think this parka has a lot of features I was looking for.

This is a nice coat. It is cute. It is alittle more fitted than The North Face version. Also I think it is better made. I got a large. It is not tight. I am 57 year old 5'4" 40" hips. It hits me at the middle of my knees.

Wonderful coat! Worth every penny. This coat keeps me warm, even with only a light layer underneath (and I'm always cold!). I've also noticed that I don't feel overheated in stores when I wear it shopping, as I have with previous warm winter coats. It keeps me dry on dashes to and from the car in wet weather (I haven't worn it out in the rain for any longer period of time). My only complaint, the peat brown color gets dark discolorations on it very easily. They wash out nicely, but anything that gets dripped/spilled on the coat leaves a mark until you wash it. I wish I'd gotten the black color, as I don't like having to wash my coat all the time. Aside from that, I love this coat!

The perfect winter coat! I had previously bought the north face and had to return it 3 times due to broken zipper and stitching already coming out. I was very displeased. I came across a review on that jacket where someone recommended this one instead and I'm so glad! I want to buy more of this jacket in case they change how they make it! Definitely recommend, it's so warm and stylish!

This is a great coat. It kept me warm and dry on a recent trip north, yet was light and easy to carry. I love that it does not add too much bulk and can be dressed up. There are no obvious logos on display, like some down parkas. It is a super coat!

This is a beautiful coat and I already love it! No Michelin tire look here. I still am amazed at the speed of delivery. I ordered at 8:00 PM last night and got it this afternoon! For free! You have my allegiance!

This coat is super nice. Very slim fitting and chic. It is warm, and the quality of it is awesome. I had ordered the Metropolis Parka from North Face but was disappointed with the quality of the zipper. This is the Patagonia version of the Metropolis Parka from North Face but made better. I strongly recommend!

Great, warm coat that has kept me warm through an east coast winter. I am always cold and was looking for a really warm coat and this was perfect. It's also not bulky and does not make you look like you're wearing a sleeping bag. The material and cut/shape actually makes a down coat look stylish. Plus I like supporting Patagonia for what they do for the environment.

This is the best parka I've owned and well worth every penny! It is very lightweight and warm for very cold weather. The slimline fit makes it look really attractive.

I looked at a lot of down filled coats and this one was the least "Michelin tire man" looking due to the more flattering quilting lines that arrow in at the waist. The coat is true to size, very comfortable, and warm. It is lightweight for its warmth and very comfortable for in and out of cars. I packed it in an already full suitcase at the last minute and it stuffed down in without adding much more weight or bulk. Patagonia is more expensive, but I think it is better made and better quality. Also, no big logo on the front! No feathers have poked through the lining as I have heard can be a problem with other brands.

I love the coat! I have gotten rid of 2 other coats that have crowded my closet for years since I received it (1 day after placing the order!). I have no need for another warm winter coat! It fits like it was made for me (true to size). I wear it everywhere. I would've liked to have spent less but I think I will get my money's worth any day now!

Fantastic coat! I had debated buying this coat for a while since I am petite, but it fit me perfectly - I am 5'2" & 110 pounds. The great thing about this coat is that it is extremely lightweight; not bulky at all. Highly recommend!

I purchased this coat a month ago and have been wearing it every day since. It is so warm and incredibly lightweight. The color (French Roast) is a beautiful rich brown. I am 5'5" and weigh 127 lbs and I took the medium. It hits me at the knee, fits great - close to the body, but comfortable. I agree with the other comments that the side pockets are not very functional, but I don't use them anyway. Thank you to Zappos for the usual great service. I received it the next day.

So lightweight and thin, but if it's over 40 degrees when you wear it, you'll be sweating! It is a great jacket.

I love this coat. It's stylish and warm. The color is terrific. It's hard to find a brown coat. It's also difficult to find a down winter coat that doesn't make you look like the Michelin man. The seaming and the fitted style are great. It is fitted! I would not be able to wear a thick sweater under it but luckily, it's warm enough that I hopefully won't need to. Read the size chart carefully, if you want to wear more than a shirt and thin sweater under it.

Great coat! Fits well, looks good, and is great weight for snowy, cold Grand Rapids. The hood is terrific and gives flexibility for the wind and snow. It has become my best coat for the winter. The service from Zappos was outstanding!

I bought this to wear on a trip to the Pacific Northwest. It was very warm, not bulky, fit true to size (I am a size 2 and I bought an XS) and had warm pockets.

I just received this coat in the beautiful brown color (not at all maroon, as I had feared). I am 5’9” 150 #, 38 inches in the bust, and the large is just right for me. The sleeves are a bit long, which I like (having made due with too short for quite some time), and the coat barely reaches my knees. Having just tried on all of the winter coats in a department store, this coat definitely tops all the others I tried in fit. I think that it will be worth it to have a coat this nice for years to come. Plus, Zappos delivery was amazingly fast: I received my Friday night order when I arrived at work on Monday morning.
