Clarks Sunbeat - I recently bought 2 pair of these sandals. I love them, they are very comfortable and do not need "break in" time.

Reliable choice - I knew exactly the size I need, I've had these sandals before. I think the sole material has changed, it's not as bouncy. Also, I bought black nubuck. The leather (or the lining) is somewhat rough. Also, the holes are spaced widely so that it's hard to choose the right width. But I am happy I finally found these sandals. The old ones were chewed up by my dog, and Nordstrom does not carry them any more.

Clarks's are comfy! These shoes are great if you have a high instep like mine and I recommend them. They could do with a bit more cushion but are overall cool, comfortable and adjustable! I always have a time trying to find shoes that fit well and really love Zappos for their service and quality.

I love Clarks shoes! I've owned several pairs of these over the years. They aren't super-attractive, but they are incredibly comfortable!

Old reliable - Very comfortable. A little sloppy in the heel strap but adjustable cross straps keep shoe in place. I've had two other pairs of this shoe and keep coming back.

I bought a pair when they originally came out and only recently had to toss them...we're talking at least 10 years old. My new pair looks the same but they are not as soft. The inside of the shoe rubs and does not seem to be the same quality as the original.

I have four pairs of these shoes! I bought a pair of Clark's Sunbeat shoes about 6 years ago. Since then, I've replaced the original pair and added more. I have them in red, beige, black and blue. The only complaint I have is that about two years ago Clarks changed the design of its sole. The new sole seems a little less bouncy than earlier versions. I still have a pair with the previous sole and I find them a bit more comfy than my current pairs. Also, the suede seems a little thinner in the new pairs as well.

Sandal is not good for narrow heels - I really like these shoes BUT I have a narrow heel and I put the strap on the last hole and I find that I grab my toes to keep the shoes from slipping of. As a result, my toes hurt making the sandals uncomfortable.

Sunbeat review - This shoe looks nicely casual, however, even with adjustment of all straps it was way too wide for my narrow (9N)foot. The length seems true. On adjustable strap sandals, I try the medium width when narrow is not available as sometimes a medium width will work. It did not work this time, probably because of the buckles versus Velcro fasteners. I will keep trying. Thanks Zappos!

Slightly narrower than I expected, but still the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn.

My first pair of Sunbeat was the black smooth leather.I wore them lots every summer--my orthotic even stays in place in this sandal. They finally needed to be replaced. I wanted black again but they only have black in nubuck, not in smooth leather. I would have preferred the smooth leather. Here's the odd part--this new pair is about 3/8 inch longer than my original pair--same size 5 1/2vB--so I don't love them as much. The length difference is puzzling???

I've been trying to find sandals like some Springers I bought years ago. They were like these, but with laces rather than buckles. These are almost as good, but not quite. They will do, but I won't be trying to replace them 15 years later like my old ones.

Comfort - I love the shoes, but I got them to go on vacation. Without getting used to the shoes I wore them to go golfing. I did have a little discomfort after 9 holes. They are not made for this activity, but I can't imagine doing this with any other pair of shoes.

Comfortable! These are not pretty shoes, but they are so comfortable! They were actually my very first pair of Clarks. I had to have more and have numerous pairs of Clarks. I have tried many different brands of shoes and Clarks BY FAR make the most comfortable shoes! Keep up the great work Clarks.

I had been disappointed to find that the Clarks sandals I had worn for years were no longer in stock. I was stunned to find a Clarks sandal that looked remarkably like my old ones and the name was only one letter off. I have been very pleased that the fit, the wear, the tread are just exactly what I was looking for. I was also pleased by the fact that they arrived days earlier than I expected. The only slight flaw is that the color rubs off on socks slightly the first time they are worn. It hasn't been a continuing problem.

Different from how made a few years ago- I have a foot that is very hard to fit and a few years ago bought this shoe in Taupe. It was very comfortable and sleek looking and fit me beautiful. I decided to get this shoe in the same size but it was larger and klutzy looking. I decided to keep it because it is comfortable (at 70 comfort is most important) and I would wear it with black socks. I ordered another pair 1/2 size smaller for stockings, but it would have been nicer if they had kept it sleek looking.

Sloppy but comfy - Based on glowing reviews, I purchased this sandal for my first cruise vacation. It worked very well for my deck excursions, but as the leather stretched, I found that the heel strap became very sloppy. Unfortunately it is not adjustable. Also, there is very little cushion in the bed of the shoe, just some light padding. I found them to be excellent for short jaunts, but after a day spent walking in Key West, my heels were killing me.

Willing to give it another try - I have very narrow bony feet (AA) and find these shoes to be most comfortable. The adjustable straps make them work for me. Unfortunately, the soles of the last pair I had completely disintegrated at a relatively early stage. Am hopeful this was an anomaly.

Disappointed - I bought a pair of these shoes many years ago & they lasted for years. They were extremely comfortable & did not have to be broken in. The new pair that I have just ordered to take on vacation where I will be walking a lot are definitely not the same shoe. The foot bed is nowhere near as comfortable & the leather needs to be broken in before I can wear them for any length of time. The look is the same, but they are not a comfortable shoe for all day walking & I will not be able to take wear them on vacation.

Not like my old Clarks - I was very disappointed with this order. Zappos was great to deal with but the shoes were not of the quality of my previous Clark's of the same style.

I have “fit-um” feet - I have a difficult to fit foot so I usually settle for shoes that offer flexibility that is, adjustable buckles. These are real "old lady" type sandals but what can I do? Can't a hard-to-fit foot also find a nice looking shoe or sandal?

Clarks Sunbeat - As others also noted the leather is thin. I bought my first pair of Clarks 13 or 14 years ago for about the same price I paid for these, so I guess they had to cut somewhere. The shoe is comfortable though. Again as others noted it’s hard to get the back strap to feel properly tightened, but I still will wear the shoe as it is comfortable.

I love Clarks and was excited to get their old standard, the Sunbeat for the first time. I was a little disappointed. The leather seemed thinner and cheaper than I was used to in some of my other Clarks, and somehow I felt they were smaller than I expected, my toes seemed to sort of "hang out" at the front more than usual, and I have short toes, so that was unusual. Also, there wasn't as much cushioning in the sole as some of my ancient old Clarks clots--I seemed to sort of jarringly bottom out on every step. I thought that if I were on vacation and doing a lot of walking I would definitely have serious foot fatigue at the end of a very few hours. I do walk a lot in the city now, and these are not the shoes I would pick for that. I am a little disappointed, although they are comfy shoes--I have a high standard for Clarks and these just don't really measure up.
