Right out of the box, these shoes were a perfect fit. No break in was needed. Bought 2 pairs. Both are excellent in every way. They lace up well, and stand up to hard work. Had a NB 855 previously, which gave great service for over a year of frequent daily wear, gym workouts and moderate hikes. They looked to be in pretty good shape and remained comfortable and felt supportive, but my personal trainer recommended replacing them for the extra support of new ones. I couldn't be happier with these shoes. I hope NB doesn't discontinue them.

The shoe is exactly as advertised. Better yet is the quick delivery and great service from Zappos. I received my order the next day!

My husband is a very large man and has trouble with his feet as he is diabetic. He also tends to walk on the outside of his feet. These sneakers are the best! They keep him from walking on the outside of his feet and completely line up his whole body. He will never buy any other sneakers other than the New Balance with the rollbar! They have helped him immensely!

This is a shoe that would satisfy many. Good looking, square toe box, doesn't hit too high on heel. Great shoe for diabetics.

I am diabetic and have been searching and trying to find a shoe that was just plain comfortable. This shoe is the one for me. I shopped the local shoe stores and the specialty shoe stores trying on the shoes "they" recommended and was shown this shoe 2 times. It's important to be sure to know your correct shoe size. I was actually 1 size larger than I had thought. After trying them on I left the store and went straight home and ordered them online from Zappos around 10am and had them the next day around 4pm. What a deal! They where actually cheaper than the specialty stores and no tax.

After ordering shoes twice and having to return them, I called customer service and the representative was very helpful. I finally have the shoes I needed.

Received my 4th pair of these today. Put them on straight out of the box and came to work. No breaking in needed. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Toe box is deep and wide. No pinched sore toes. Good cushioning. I will buy these shoes as long as you carry them.

My husband has a very wide foot. New Balance is the only brand of sneaker that fits him, and the MX855 is his favorite one in white which he buys over and over again. He walks 5 miles a day and does not get any blisters or other problems with this shoe. He needs a half size larger with all New Balance shoes, as do I, but the width is always true to size.

I have purchased one pair of the New Balance MX 85n series in each of the past ten years, both for comfort and to stabilize my floppy ankles. They work, and they’re worth every penny they cost. I commend New Balance and Zappos for their consistency in placing the customer first.

I use this shoe for walking and lite exercise. The shoe does run a little narrow, so you may want to increase the width by one size.

I\\\'m a tall heavy male who can walk out of some sneakers in less than a week. My Shoe guy recommended these and I was more than satisfied. These will be my third pair of these exact model sneakers. These were the only New Balance sneakers I have tried that have provided stability and durability.

This shoe was a great fit right out of the box. This is a rugged shoe to be used for walking.

Tried a couple different pair of shoes to fit wide feet, none other would do the job, these were the only ones that would go to 6E. Fit like a dream. The only pair of shoes I have had in a long time to feel like they fit all over. Zappos had unrivaled customer service, truly impressive. Thanks again!

Removable sole works great for my orthotics. After moderate use over the past 2 months, these shoes are holding up extremely well.

The New Balance MX 855 is one of the a most comfortable and well-fitting shoes I have tried. In fact, I will be ordering more. I sublimate and find my orthotics fit comfortably as well as providing me comfortable shoes for hours of walking each day.

Review of New Balance's MX855 - I found the shoe very comfortable the first time I put it on. There was no preliminary "NEW SHOE" adjustment period. It has been over a year since I ordered this shoe; it is still very comfortable, but looks worn since I wear it at least 3 times a week. I am about to order another pair. Thanks Zappos, thanks New Balance.

Received this shoe and as soon as I put it on, it felt like it was made for me. Nice styling without being too frantic. Not too heavy or light - for that matter. Fits a little slim, but I'm sure it will stretch out to a perfect fit. Highly recommend. The New Balance stores didn't have it in stock, but Zappos did!!

After a few hours of internet research (Runner's World was most helpful), replaced an old pair of New Balance MX609 (cross-trainer) for indoor use only on tracks, treadmills, and while using weight machines. Shoes were comfortable from my first wearing and have remained so in my first month's use. Prefer the enhanced cushioning of the MX855 over the lighter, but bare bones MX609. I benefit from the stability design of the MX 855. No regrets. (3 stars for style is not a criticism or devaluation; I prefer the simple NB look that doesn't draw attention.)

Not the lightest weight shoe around, but very comfortable right out of the box. Broad roomy toe box and very solid stability. (Compared to running shoes, it’s like being strapped to a board! I mean that in a good way.) Decent cushioning, but the heel cup isn’t too high so you have ankle flexibility without rubbing or discomfort. Tongue is thickly padded, too. They are fairly conservative in design and styling. And the white is very white. Nothing negative I can say; exactly what I wanted in a training shoe.

A great sneaker/sport shoe for someone with very wide feet. My husband wears a 12 1/2 EEEEEE, and this is the only sneaker he wears. Zappos always has it and always delivers it quickly. Three cheers for New Balance and Zappos. Hip! Hip! Hooray!

I am happy with the new MX855. I have been wearing MX85X series for several years now and like them.

These shoes are roomy and comfortable with a big toe box. The only down-sides are a tendency to squeak loudly on polished time floors when wet and difficulty in cleaning compacted snow from rear sole cavities. Overall, so satisfied I bought two pairs.

I had a great experience buying shoes from Zappos. I wasn\'t sure of the size and was able to try on a different size and return the pair that didn\'t fit. Everything was easy and I have the shoes I want.
