Great shoe for running and power walking, keeps food stable, with very little side to side movement. Very good cushioning for arches and the balls of your feet. I got the wide width and found it is best to order a 1/2 size larger.

Great shoes!! True to size and have really good arch support. They took a few days to break in, but after that, they were very comfortable. The only thing I would change about them is they could have a little more padding in the ball of the foot and the inside could use a little more nice/smoother finishing.

I tried at least five other pairs of athletic shoes before sticking with this one. I used to wear the propet slip ons, but they didn’t give enough support to my increasing workout. I was pleased with the ample room in the toe area. The back half of the shoe took some getting used to. It has much more structure than I am used to. Overall a good shoe for me.

This shoe is great for me in all ways but one: I have a pretty high arch and I feel like I need a bit more upper room for it. I loosen the shoelaces as much as possible to give myself room, but there's not enough lace to "open" it up enough. I plan to get some longer laces to give myself more space, but I hate not to use the ones that go with this handsome shoe. If it weren't for this problem, I'd rate the Foundation 8 as a 5. On the positive side: Love the gel soles, which are essential for dealing with lots of foot problems, including metacarpal hyperextension. Love Asics for making women's shoes in 12.5, which is a very hard size to find! And, of course, these shoes look great.

These run small in length and a little bit wider than most. I bought a pair 1/2 size longer than normal and while the arch is good and seems to be in the right spot, I feel like I am wearing boats. I really wanted the Evolution but there are few reviews on them and I don't want the hassle of returning shoes that are too short.

I'm so glad someone is finally making a narrow running shoe in some color other than blue and white. These shoes also allowed me to run without my orthotics for the first time in my life. But after just 200 miles or so, I'm having plantar fasciitis, which I've never had before. I fear my shoes are worn out already 200 miles!? Quickest ever, for me. I guess my health is worth more to me than a pair of shoes, so I'm going to buy this pair again and see if the pain goes away.

Love this shoe! This is a very comfortable shoe with wonderful support for my 5-7 mile runs/walks. I would prefer it without the shiny silver but I must have missed this in the description. Aside from the look, 5 stars!

Reliable - I have purchased these shoes several times before. The only difference this time is that I'm getting some rubbing on the inside ankle. It gets better with wear, so for me they've needed some break in time. Good cushion and support. Color is nice.

Shoe Review - Seems to be a good shoe. I've been running in Asics for many many years switching brands occasionally and going back to Ascis. I no longer run fast or put on the miles like I did 20 years ago so it seems like an adequate shoe for me now.

These were the shoes I was searching for - except for the stiffness along some of the interior seams. I'd been searching for a pair of motion control running shoes with decent arch support, and when I slipped these on, they seemed perfect. Then I walked across the living room, and felt rough, stiff seams rubbing on the inside of my left foot and ankle. I really wanted to like these shoes and I kept them on for a bit to see if the seams would loosen up. They didn't; I knew I'd end up with blisters if I ran in these. Indeed, looking at the reviews here, some people did.On size: I wear an 8 in street shoes, but a 9 in these. That is the case with most running shoes, so I'd say these run true to size for running shoes. They are narrow though; I preferred the wide D width, which felt more comfortable around my bunion (but did not slip up and down at the heel).I ended up with the Saucony ProGrid Stabil, which has a wider toebox (I did not need a wide), is much softer inside, and feels lighter (although according to the info provided here, it is actually an ounce heavier).

Here's the main problem I have with these shoes. They're just not comfortable on my left arch. Now I have other shoes from Saucony (Omni Grid), New Balance Trail runners and I don't have this problem. I need a good stability shoe so I thought I'd try these out, but frankly I wouldn't never buy them again. I'll use them for going about my day running errands but as far as running, no way! I walk my dog in them every morning and my feet feel tired after wear them for a period of time. I've never had that from the Saucony's. I guess when you find a shoe company that works for you, you stick with it! I liked the look of the shoe because I wasn't too fond of the Saucony's but I'll take comfort over style in this case.

After reading the reviews, I expected to be wowed by the comfort. I don't really get the "gel insole thing". I have all different brands of running shoes in my closet and these don't really feel any more cushiony. But they are fine and I'm going to keep them. I'll definitely try a different brand next time to see if I can get a little more cushion. Yes, definitely order a half size larger! I got silver so they stay cleaner looking than white. I like the look. Not "flashy" silver. Nice fit. The wide fit my wide feet.

I have been a big fan of these in the past and I bought these to replace my old Brooks. Sadly, since I started wearing these, my feet have been extremely sore, especially the ball of the foot. The padding they have placed in there hits just ahead of the ball of my foot, although the shoes fit perfectly otherwise. They also seem to lack the motion control in terms of guiding the footfall (key for over-pronators) that my old shoes had. Overall they are a very "squishy" shoe, which may appeal to some.

Not Worth the Price - The shoe took about 3 weeks of wearing before any comfort was experienced.

Too narrow for the wide foot - Good looking shoe although the silver is a little flashy. Had to send these back, even if I sized up another full size they would be too narrow. Zappos return process was, as always, the best!

Asics changed my favorite athletic shoe!!! NOooooo! I've gone through 3 pairs of Gel-Foundations and one pair of Gel-Fortitudes (very very similar to the Foundation) over the past 6 years or so, and was all excited to see this color scheme come out for the Gel-Foundation 8 (I love when athletic shoes aren't blinding white). I assumed this would be my next Foundation, and ordered with glee. However...something is rotten in the Denmark of Asic shoe construction. I don't know what happened, but this Foundation doesn't feel any of my previous pairs, all which were the personification of comfort right out of the box. This shoe feels REALLY heavy and weighty as I walk, and the sole is ROCK-hard, and extends way up into the arch so that I feel the edge of it slicing along the side of my foot, and the raised lump of the arch inside the shoe. Also, there is this glut of extra padding and fabric along the inside ankle, which is just...weird. I tried these shoes out at the gym (on the treadmill and elliptical) and then on my home elliptical as well, and they passed none of my comfort test; in fact, my feet and legs ached after wearing them. They're going back where they came from, and I am sad. Feel like I just got dumped, by footwear.

This shoe had good cushioning and support, but the ankle is built way too high and it has a seam running from the ankle almost to the arch. After just 20 miles in these shoes, I had 6 huge blisters from the seam and high ankle. I loved my Foundation 7 Asics, but this model is a huge let down.

This product runs very small. Normally I wear a size large, but I couldn't even put this one on. I wonder if it was a large boy size instead of a men's size. Also, the sweater was very light weight, so light that you could easily see through it. As always, the Zappos service was excellent. Thanks for your outstanding return policy.

I have purchased the Asics brand before and been happy. This shoe is cut far too high around my ankles and gave me multiple blisters. Tried to wear them again, but couldn't. Went back to my old shoes.
