I love the look of these boots, they fit perfectly length wise, and seemed comfy. Unfortunately I have bunions and the 7W was not wide enough to accommodate them.

Incredibly comfortable and not at all stylish.
I am keeping them because I am going with comfort.
They are very narrow which is good for me as my feet are also very narrow.
Not as warm as I hoped but adequate.
All in all a good purchase!

I bought my first pair of these shoes about 10 years ago and liked them so much, I bought them again. The shoes are comfortable for hiking and I have used them in all kinds of terrain, hot and cold weather. They aren't too heavy and they don't get too hot. They are rugged and give enough space for my forefoot and toes. I do spray the with silicone once in a while, but they do keep the water out. My feet are hard to fit due to bunions, and these shoes have never given me any trouble. I highly recommend them.

Very well made and comfortable. Gore-Tex and keep your feet dry unlike other products that claim waterproof and they leak. This one doesn't.

I found the Timberland Chocorua boot while battling Plantar Fasciitis. It was the only footwear I could wear with my custom orthotics that was 100% comfortable. I go through a pair a year between hiking trips and everyday wear. They have done me well on the mountain trails of Switzerland, Italy, France, California, Ireland, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and soon New Mexico. After the "factory oiling" wears off, I apply mink oil over the entire boot - I have never had wet feet. I love these boots!!

I purchased this boot and have now put approximately 15 miles on them with a combination of trail, pavement, and indoor conditions. They feel great! I normally wear a size 9-9.5 and decided on the 9.5. They are comfortable with thin and medium weight socks plus I still have room for a heel/arch support insert which I haven’t felt a need for at this time. I think they look great as well. Highly recommend!

Oh, how I love Zappos! As somebody with duck-shaped feet (extremely wide in the toes with bunions, very narrow heels and a high arch), I could not walk comfortably without the amazing selection and return policy at Zappos. Finding a pair of waterproof hiking boots that would accommodate my crazy feet was a serious challenge but these Timberland boots did the trick. Two days after receiving them, I hiked in Marin County during fierce rain storms, along most of the Dipsea Trail and amongst the towering redwoods. Over two days, they put in about 13 miles of hiking, including through parts of trail that were under 3-6 inches of water, with a lot of elevation gain and loss. My feet stayed perfectly dry and though I ended up with very slight hot spots on my bunions (but no blisters), the boots were comfortable and I am confident they will be broken in quickly. If you have a normal or simply wide foot, I don't think these boots require any breaking in.
I also love the way these boots look. To clarify, this is not stylish footwear! However, they are really nice looking traditional hiking boots that are compact on the feet when compared to many competitors. I think they look better on than in the photos.
I was skeptical of buying Timberland hiking boots as I don't think of this brand as a serious outdoor company. Happily, I was wrong.

I was really wary of buying boots, although I knew I needed them because I have pronation and extremely high arches. I also wear orthotics. I took the advice of reviews and ordered 1/2 size larger than normal. They have been awesome; no breaking in. My feet have never hurt. The orthotics fit right in over the existing insoles. I would buy these again in a heartbeat.

I love these boots! There was virtually no break in time. I have been looking for mid-cut hiking boots for a year. I went through all of the options at L.L.Bean, Keen, Merrell, etc. I have wide feet and use orthotics. I am a 6W, I ordered both the 6 and 6½. The 6 was too tight but the 6½ was just right. While hiking through rolling hills and trail blazing through the woods, these boots were comfortable and supportive!

Best. Shoes. Ever! I have very weird feet: short, wide, must have custom orthotics. Most shoes I find to fit are incredibly nerdy and/or uncomfortable. I bought these about a week before a grueling 7 mile mountain hike in wet conditions and they performed admirably with little break-in time (I know, I know). But also, I'v been wearing them EVERYWHERE ever since because they are so dang comfortable I can't take them off. They have a roomy toe box and, unlike most hiking boots, are v flexible. I can tiptoe in them!! I am going to order a second pair because I cannot bear the thought of ever being without them. I typically order 3 or 4 pairs of shoes and keep one pair....these are 1 in 100!! FYI: I am 57 yo overweight woman with bad feet. My other shoes are NOT Christian LeBoutains.

This boot from the moment I put it on was great! Very comfortable. Really, my only complaint was that the laces came untied all the time. I started tying them differently...now: no problem, (actually, I listened to this shoe tying speech on "Ted Talks" that really works). I'm a Photojournalist for television station. I wear these boots all year long. In the Winter, nice and warm. I haven't worn my sorrels since I bought these boots. I was concerned about wearing them in the summer because of the insulation, but I've worn them though a couple of summers now and they're just fine. I bought the boots from Gander Mountain. I tried on every brand at the store...for my foot, there was no competition, these were miles better than the rest. One other thing I like about these boots is that they tie up fast for great support and when you loosen the laces from the top two hooks and yank on the tongue, the boots pop open wide and you can kick them off easily. Final note: I have no affiliation with Timberland whatsoever. I bitch about plenty of products, so when I run into one that actually is well designed and manufactured, I like to take a moment and give them a nod. That's it. Enjoy.
I'd also recommend:
hmmm...If this is the type of boot your are looking for, in my opion, there is no other product.

I got these on August to be used with my BSA uniform. They are stylish, and very comfortable. I completed a search and rescue training in the forest/mountains in Puerto Rico. We were 24 hours completing exercises and simulated rescue searches. These boots felt wonderful, they kept my feet dry and they are not very hot. After that I have used them for camping and outdoor activities with shorts, jeans and cargo pants. They look great and feel great. I recommend these to anyone.

Bought these just before going to Peru and knew I would be hiking quite a bit. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on. I wore them from morning until night for 12 days with no fatigue. My back felt good, my feet and legs where comfortable. They gripped even the slippery stones and steps climbing in the ruins. Wore with heavy and lighter hiking socks depending on the activity of the day. These boots added so much to making my trip enjoyable. Wear them with boot cut jeans and they even look great!

Timberland Chocorua Trail with Gore-Tex Membrane -
These hiking boots are the greatest! They have great support at arch, toe and heel and a sturdy yet comfortable sole and accommodate a thin or thick sock. They were comfortable the first time I wore them. I purchased the boots because I stand and walk all day on concrete floors. The boots are the first footwear I've found that have avoided pain by the end of the day. A five star find!

I LOVE these boots!!
I tend to have a problem getting comfortable shoes and I also wear orthotics. I took a chance and ordered these boots in my normal size, 8 Wide. They not only fit great, but they're sooo comfortable. I'm not an avid hiker, but do like to walk in the woods. These boots provide great support and they look hot!!

Fits and feels great -
I love these boots. I have a wide foot with hardly any arch and they felt and looked perfect. I joined a hiking group and wore these boots with no complaints. I'm not a hiker and was afraid at first but these shoes help me to conquer any fear I would have had.

I thought replacing my well-worn WP hiking boots would be simple since my original Chocoruas were perfect. I was shocked to discover Timberland’s major design change that elongated and narrowed the toe box. I’m trying a half size larger but seem to stub the longer toe when walking around the house and worry about hiking uneven terrain. They also seem to be ¼” taller but that’s not a huge deal. The old ones still feel nice and snug like a “security blanket” and I’ll continue to wear them in dry weather since they’re no longer waterproof. Still thinking about the new version.

This is my fourth pair of these boots. I wear them almost daily and basically beat the crap out of them. The uppers last forever, the soles will go much sooner. This new pair gave me abrasions on both sides of my right ankle the first time I wore them. Needless to say, when you untie them in the middle of the woods to find, yes, it really is bleeding, it's not so great. I almost sent them back immediately. However a few weeks of thicker socks and I've broken them in ok. Definitely something not quite right with the right one, it was also a bit tight until they had about 20 miles on them. Overall, I'm keeping them but feel like craftsmanship is lower than in the past.

I really like these hiking boots! I ordered 1/2 size up to make room for thick socks and they worked great. The fit felt true to size and comfortable. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the tip of one boot appeared worn, discolored, and scuffed up, considering these were brand new, I was unsure the reason for it. Returned.

I own a pair of these (same size) from several years ago. This new boot is not the same. Each step I take, the boot forces me into an extreme pronation and the top of the boot shifts laterally, to press against the inside of my lower leg. As I inspect the boots, it appears that the uppers are glued onto the soles crooked. They appear to lean in (pronate). Possibly defective? Very disappointed in this boot. I have loved my old pair. They have been the best boots I ever owned.

I got these about a year ago. They fit perfectly right out of the box and have held up well in rain and snow. My only complaint is that they scuff up really badly and since it’s Gortex you are not supposed to apply polish. They look awful and the treads are wearing off too. I use these daily in the cold season for hiking and dog walking. I will order another pair and hope they last more than a year. As for sizing, I wear a 9 in boots and sneakers and these are true to size.

I have loved these boots- perfect fit with wide toe box that can be hard to find. They don’t last, however, and I’ve gone through 3 of them, this last pair I’m retiring after less than a year. The leather cracks and gore-tex lining fails resulting in really wet feet. I probably should have gone down to two stars for overall quality. I’m retired and living in a place with endless hiking opportunities so the boots are worn daily. When even the sole wore out after a year I decided to spend the extra bucks and switch to HOKA ONE ONE, a brand my daughter in Seattle recommended. So far they’re awesome and should last a few years.
The Chocorua boot is excellent if you have low mileage and/or plan to replace them yearly.

I've purchased these boot from Zappos for the last 10+ years. Fit, width and size are all accurate. Sadly I have to say the last pair I purchased has worn out long before either of the previous 2 pair, respectively 5 years & 8 year old boots. A hole appeared in the leather and continued to increase in size, The seam split open and the leather appears to be peeling.

I recently purchased this boot to add a second pair of the exact model and size purchased several years ago. Unfortunately, Timberland shaved off 1/8" on the entire width of the boot. My foot has not changed, but the new boot does not fit. Apparently, a size 8M is no longer a size 8M. Probable cost savings for Timberland resulted in a lost customer.
