If you don't mind your little toe sticking out thru the mesh, these are wonderful shoes!! I critiqued these before, but did they move the mesh, NO, they raised the price!

I received my Captains on time but I ordered a size too big. I called at around 9:00 p.m. that night and received my new pair the next day! Seriously, who does that? I'm loving my Captains and everyone else is too. I've received a lot of compliments and people asking how they can get a pair. Cool and comfortable shoes!

Love the Dunhams! This brand was the only one I could find which sold a boat/deck shoe in a narrow in a size 14. Excellent support with the roll bar. Extremely comfortable shoe, easy to put on and lace. I had not know that Dunham was marketed by New Balance until the shoes arrived. I am so happy that I have discovered Zappos.com. Shipping is free, and they get it out the door quickly. Love Zappos. Will always order from them. Have been recommending to my friends and family members. What a great company! And, no, I don't work for them. :)

My husband has super wide feet. These are his favorite shoes ever. He has worn them almost every day for a year and even hikes in them. They have great arch support for him and don't jam his bunion.

I was looking for a casual shoe with support. Most boat or skate shoes seem to have very little support. This one is exactly what I was looking for.

These shoes are awesome. This is the 3rd pair my husband has had, 2 tan and one in brown. They are comfortable and look great and the only pair of boat shoes he wears! Aside from how great the shoe is, I must comment on the outstanding customer service Zappos has...we bought this pair about a year earlier and hadn't taken them out of the box until recently to find the colors of both shoes was off! Even though it was just over a year, Zappos exchanged them, no questions asked and free shipping in both directions! Now that is above and beyond!

I have purchased 2 pairs of the Dunham Captain shoes for my 82 year old father. He has a very narrow foot, size 10 AA and the 10 fit him perfectly. They provide great arch support and help him with stability when walking. The first pair was purchased a year ago and they still look great, he just wanted a second pair in the smooth leather. They also are a great looking shoe!

These shoes are absolutely amazing, especially if you need a wider width. I have had to buy wide-width shoes for my son his entire life. Dunham is a division of New Balance, and their shoes last a long time. The Captain is a very sturdy shoe! This is our 2nd pair - purchased at my 17 year old's request.

I require extra wide shoes (EEEE), something almost non-existing when searching other online websites. So far I've purchased a pair of walking shoes and 2 pairs of name-brand deck shoes from Zappos. Received exactly what I wanted at a fair price with free shipping.

My husband loves these boat shoes. They are comfortable, true to size and Zappos makes my life easier with expediting with next day shipping. Win win!

After trying a couple of alternatives that just didn't fit my very wide foot and high instep, including another Dunham shoe in the same size, I came back to the Captain. I live in Tucson and I'm retired, so I wear shorts almost every day, and these are the perfect accompaniment. And since I haven't found a pair of athletic shoes that don't hurt in some ways, I wear them to the gym, too. A very well made, comfortable shoe.

We just received these shoes a few days ago and my husband loves them. In fact we just ordered another pair. Thank you Zappos!

These are my elderly dad's everyday shoes. They look cute with casual clothes but also make him feel like he has good solid footing. They are very well made, this is our second pair, we love them.

My husband's foot was run over by a car when he was a teenager and the bone healed in a way that makes it jut out - he needs really wide shoes! We got the tan leather in 4E and they're winners. He says they're super comfortable and wide enough not to pinch, and they look great with shorts or jeans. Love them!

Shoe is as described with leather interior and exterior. Some shoes in this same model line come with cloth interior. Something to watch out for! This shoe fits well and very comfortable. My second pair. First pair lasted 3 years.

I loved this deck shoes... until a lace broke. They are sewn into the shoe and the laces can not be changed. Stupid...Stupid...Stupid... That is my last New Balance product. DO NOT BUY THESE!

Size runs a little large. I'm coming from several years of Sperry that are narrow even for the wide width. They do feel like New Balance running shoes from years ago. I plan to order a 12 4E which is the size of New Balance that has fit well before.

I have a very narrow foot and have never been able to wear "boat shoes" as they were always too wide and my heel would slip right out. I tried these out because they were available in a narrow size, and they feel great - super comfortable for all day wearing and walking (and I walk a lot). The only thing I don't love from a design perspective is the little orange logo on the back. But, I can live with it. :)

Beyond perfect! Great shoe, supportive, light, looks good with khakis, golf shorts, etc. As always, Zappos made it easy to order two different styles and sizes and return what didn't work. As a size 13 extra-wide, this is much appreciated! Will buy this style and size again, and most certainly from Zappos!

This will be my 4th pair if the Captains. One began to self destruct (the stitching was breaking and pulling out) after three months, and Dunham graciously replaced them. These are hands down the best boat shoes I have ever owned. I wear a 13 6E (hard to find), and these fit perfectly. They wear like iron (I got 5 years out of my last pair), and I wore them almost every day. I have very high arches, and getting my feet into most shoes is impossible. These? They feel like they were custom made. Arch support is amazing, and the comfort is second to none.

I never give five star reviews but this shoe deserves one. I have a very wide foot and this is the only casual shoe I have found, other than black tennis shoes, that fit like a glove. I wore these on vacation in Havana where some streets are cobblestoned and some uneven or with holes. This shoe never failed me and my foot felt entirely comfortable everywhere. I highly recommend this shoe and will look to Dunham when I next need to buy.

I'm a Sperry guy but I'm not happy with their quality recently. I gave Dunham a shot and it was a good move. The Captain is really well made and I even benefited from being able to order a B width.
