Good Workout Shoe - A bit on the expensive side, but I buy my shoe to last about a year. I have wide feet so being able to get it in a wider size is key. It is great for cardio use (treadmills, elliptical, cross-country walking, etc.). It is a bit "brighter" than the photo. Overall, a good purchase.

Relief at last! For someone with my feet this is a great shoe! I am a long-distance walker training for a marathon; boots are not good for fast walking and my leather walking shoes were agony when my feet started to swell (after 10 miles). Enter the NB 1011; deep enough for orthotics, a big boxy toe, and flexible to accommodate swelling. The heel accommodated a walking stride (some running shoe heels are too flared out in back to use for walking).

Great for problem feet - Over the past few years, my foot problems have grown increasing worse and it's hard to find a really sturdy shoe that accommodates heavier people.

Great shoes for extra wide feet - I've always been a fan of New Balance sneakers for my short, extra wide feet. I own 2 pairs of these shoes and wore them in the Breast Cancer 3 Day in Philly, where I walked 60 miles over 3 days. I had absolutely no foot problems during the walk. I got them when I was about 2/3 done training. My only problem up to that point was sore big toes from the friction of my toe rubbing on the top of the shoe. These have a deep toe box and those problems went away when I started wearing these shoes.

Good support - I like the look of this shoe. It is the most stylish motion control out there. I wish it had a bit more cushioning, but overall very comfortable. It did take me a few days to get use to a sneaker since I usually only ever wore flip flops. I needed this shoe because I had stress fractures in my foot due to not wearing a supportive shoe. My doctor told me to get a motion control NB shoe. I would suggest this shoe to someone who needs the support.

This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. It stabilizes my foot and relieves the pressure on my knees. It felt a bit strange the first few days but now I do not go without them. Love Them! I wish they came in black for work.

Amazing Zappos.com - I could not be more pleased with the service from Zappos.com. Ordered shoes about 1 p.m. on a Thursday and they arrived about 2 p.m. the next day. Price was great. Shoes are great. So nice to get a NB shoe that looks nice and isn't in some hideous color. I have a reconstructed foot and this shoe definitely gives me the support I need in addition to being very comfortable. Couldn't find my size anywhere locally and tried my usual online running shoe store and they didn't have it either. My daughter-in-law had told me about Zappos. She was also amazed by the service. I will look at Zappos.com first in the future and will probably order another pair of 1011s so I have a spare pair.

Most comfortable shoes EVER for orthotics! These shoes have tons of room for my toes, orthotics, and are comfy! I like the colors and think they are pretty cute and they don't make my feet look huge or clunky.

Love these sneakers. Go to the gym daily and really feel the support and comfort. The WW is so roomy and I had no need to break them in. Perfect from the get go!

Great Shoe - These shoes are very comfortable. I've gotten a lot of months of walking with these shoes. Most tennis shoes I get, within a month they’re hurting my feet or my feet start burning when I walk. I walk 3 miles 6 to 7 days a week. I was surprised how long these shoes last me. I just ordered another pair.

I'm a frequent New Balance customer and always ordered the same size and last (SL-1, SL-2, etc). I was excited to see this shoe offered in some fun colors for those of us with a 2E width. However, if you're buying this shoe, go one half size up from your normal New Balance size. Otherwise, another great shoe from New Balance!

Great shoe for pronators. Good support and comfortable. The new type of mesh on this shoe is very hard to clean. Hopefully New Balance will come out with colored mesh.

I love these shoes! I just got these in the mail...only two days from when I typed the order. They are fabulous; I got my arch supports in there and cut the removable insole to fit the front part. I love them!!! Thank you, Zappos!

Cute AND comfy! What a cute shoe! Makes your foot look small! (Which is great for me, being a size 9.) Also a very comfortable running shoe for overpronators! This shoe has the motion control, and a rollbar heel, which helps propel your foot forward. It does run true to size and width. I had gotten the wide width, but it was too wide for me, and I had to exchange this pair for a B width. Zappos is great! Thanks Zappos!

I'm mostly happy with this purchase. I wear a 10W in New Balance and they are comfortable for my wide feet. Great for the gym (elliptical, weights, etc.), but not so comfortable to take a long walk. They make the middle of the outside edges of my feet hurt, which is pretty unusual. As long as I keep using them in the gym only, they'll be good. Not the cutest sneakers ever and very bulky looking.

I tried these sneakers on in a store at first, but did not buy them because they looked like clown shoes. Wound up getting a pair because my options were limited. They fit great, and they're very comfortable with my own arch supports. But I feel very self-conscious in them unless I'm at the gym. Is it too much to ask to have something stylish, subtle and supportive?

Both the WR1011 and WR817 were selected because of my wide flat feet with bunions and narrow heels, plus my current (painful!) plantar fasciitis (both heels). All my previous New Balance ran totally true to size, but I'm exchanging the WR1011 for a half size larger. Overall, I'm rating these an optimistic 4 stars, assuming that graduating from a 8.5 to a 9 is all that is needed for this Cinderella to find her magic slipper. If you find that for some reason the WR1011 does not work for you, I recommend the WR817; it was wonderful right out of the box.

Very Good Walking Shoe - I like NB shoes for walking because they have a roomy toe box. I ordered this one a full size larger and it fit perfectly. It's great for motion control, but the toe box could use more cushioning.

I ordered these to walk on my treadmill... I wear an 8 EE, they were plenty wide but tight on my toes, I only ordered an 8 because 7 1/2 is tight with good socks, so I recommend sizing up 1/2 size or more...Zappos is a GREAT site for those of us who need wider shoes that are hard to find in stores because of their great service and free shipping...love this website!!!

Great walking/running shoe - These are not the greatest looking shoes you are going to find, but if you tend to roll your foot when you walk, either in or out, these put a stop to that. I love New Balance shoe support and comfort, but I'm not crazy about the big N on every pair; I feel it makes them less attractive.

Not enough cushioning - Nice stability shoe, but almost no cushioning. I am ordering a cushioned running insole, which may make them more tolerable. Never had heel pain in many years of running, but developed it after about 3 days in these shoes. Also, NO arch support.

WR1011 - The toe box had ample room and was very comfortable, however, the stability part of the heel sometimes pinches. The shoe is pretty heavy also.

Great Buy - NB WR1011 is a very comfortable and supportive shoe. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it has more support than comfort, and as far as looks, the large sole is not very sexy- but who cares. It is a bit heavier than what I am used to, but it has much more stability than shoes I have purchased in the same category-value-price range. And I need this! I use it for weight lifting and running. The wideness and stability works for the weight training and everything else for running. If I was not exercising exclusively at the gym, say just running on the road, I would probably get a lighter shoe with more give. If you have flat feet, do not buy. Everyone else---Worth every penny! Buy it!

I've worn New Balance for years, so I'm well aware of the quality of their shoes. This shoe has fantastic support and is extremely lightweight, which is a plus. The only thing I'm a bit disappointed of is that it seems a little shorter than normal. I always wear a size 9, but after wearing these, I should have exchanged for a 9.5. Other than that, the fit is great!! I'll definitely continue buying New Balance. Great shoes for a great price!!

Good shoe, but doesn't have nearly as much arch support for overpronators as advertised. I still have to use inserts.
