I bought the charcoal color expecting a grey tone. It's definitely more of a brown/stone color--not grey.

Although the color was advertised as charcoal and the socks are not even gray. The package said it was charcoal too. They are taupe. I should have returned them but it was holiday time and too cold to wear the boots without the socks.

I ordered what I thought would fit a size 8, and they were huge, so I sent them back for a small. Now they fit perfectly. The seams are annoying at first, but I got over that little issue after about an hour. They kept me warm and toasty.

I am a size 12 women's and the L fit just fine (no need for XL size). However, when pairing these socks with the boots, they make them so tight around my calves that I had to pry them off my legs at the end of the day, and they are not extraordinarily warm. They folded down over the tops of the boots, covering the HUNTER logo perfectly. Also, my calves fit the boots without these socks just fine, so I will stick to fleece ankle socks when wearing my wellies.

I love my boots but these socks are not that comfortable. There are seams around the ankle that hit at the back of my foot. The first time I wore them the seam rubbed the back of my foot raw.

Great idea, still needs work. I ordered a size 7 (women's) boots and ordered a size medium socks to go with them. If you can get the sock to go in perfectly (no bunching), then they would fit perfectly together. The foot part of the sock was almost too big for the inside circumference of the boot...which didn't make much sense to me since the socks were coming from the same manufacturer as the boot. I ordered these because I'm going to use my Hunter boots as winter boots and wanted some extra warmth. Guess I'll have to find some other tall fleece socks to try.

These do not work for me. I\'m a size 6 and I bought a medium. They are way too huge. When I wear them with my rain boots, the heel goes all the way up to my ankle. They don\'t lie flat inside the boots anywhere. When I wear them by itself, it looks like I put a pair of Christmas stockings on.

I own the kids size hunters (size 4) and according to the socks, they claim you should get the adult medium to go with this size boot. I think you should go with the kids small --> my Hunter socks are a little big. I’m not sure what others are doing different, but they aren’t as warm as I would like on very snowy, cold days. I went skiing and wore these on the way to the slopes and my feet in fact got cold. But if you wear a pair of warm socks under them, it really made a different. Overall I’d buy them again; they look cute with my boots and add comfort and warmth. However, my mother bought me a similar "generic" brand sock for Christmas after I complained about size and they were a better fit (and a lot cheaper!).

I wore these with my wellies during snowmageddon here in DC (thanks for the quick shipping Zappos!). At first I liked them, but it only took a couple of wears before the stitching started to come apart between the foot and the calf fabric. I sewed them back together, but I definitely wouldn’t order again. Instead try some nice smartwool socks instead. Just as comfortable, better breathing fabric, and much higher quality.

Overall I am left with a lackluster opinion of my new welly socks. I have Hunter rainboots (which I love) and recently needed a cold weather boot so I bought the socks. Not impressed... 1) The sock does not rise above the top of the boot quite enough to truly fold over the top the way they are intended - so the sock and boot logos overlap. This is doable, but there is not as much length to the sock as I thought there would be. 2) These are in no way a substitute for an all-weather boot. They are a great extra layer for cold weather rainy days, however, they do not insulate enough for wearing in the snow. My toes became so cold after standing on snow-covered ground for 30 mins that my toes went numb!

I can't say I really love these. They are thick and make the boot difficult to go over. They have a loose fit which surprised me. They are very warm, however.

I don't know why so many people love these? The seam goes all the way down the back and is really uncomfortable on your heel. Not sure why they don't just make it with the seam down the front?

I ordered these in the charcoal color. It said charcoal on my order form and on the actual box the socks came in. However, the socks are actually a tan color. They are much closer to brown than black or grey.

Hunter Welly Socks - I thought that getting a liner for water-proof boots was a great idea but a thick sock would do just as well , if not better. The liners are over sized and bulky to wear inside a rubber boot. Wearing a knee-high, thick sock would be more comfortable, not to mention the cost of $30 bucks for ONE pair. I absolutely LOVE ZAPPOS this item was just not a winner. They were delivered quickly and I would definitely use Zappos again.

Not too comfortable - The socks look nice, but they bunch up inside the boot. Also, the fleece is slippery and moves around inside the boot. I would rather wear regular knit socks with these boots.

Other reviews said to order the same size in the sock that you did in the boot. I ordered a 6 in the boot and purchased the medium socks (5-7) These are way too big. They are flopping and not comfortable at all. I wouldn't recommend them. Just wear a pair of heavy socks that fit you and they work just as well!

I love the quality of this product although it was not what I ordered. I received a light grey to go with my black boots, since it was not the charcoal I requested I tuck them inside my Wellington Boots for additional warmth.

I'm surprised to see all the great reviews here as I found these socks to be very uncomfortable and not especially warm. I've had my Hunter boots for years and love them but these socks seem to bunch at all the wrong places and just rub like crazy. Only realized how bad they were after I wore them a few short but painful times, so I can't return them. I'll just stick with regular warm socks in my Hunters from now on.

It's not as comfortable... I had my Hunter boots for years. And I only wore them on rainy days. However, when I saw these liners, I thought that I could wear my boots on winter, snowy days. Well, the liners are not that comfortable. They bunch up inside my boots and I usually wear my pants tucked inside the boots and with the liner, it's impossible. I'll be returning these expensive liners and probably invest in a few pairs of thick knee high socks for half the price of the liner.
