All around it is a comfortable and well-padded sneaker. My only problem was after about 5 months of wearing them, they began to squeak. The entire bottom of the soles sounded as if I were squeezing a water bottle under them...that plastic-like squeaking sound. Like when you walk on a wet tile floor.

This is a very comfortable shoe, but the air cushions in the heel tend to burst fairly quickly (this is the cause of the squeaking that other reviewers have mentioned). Nike replaced my first pair under warranty when that happened, but the replacements did the same thing within a couple of months.

A very comfortable shoe, but the air cushions in the sole burst quickly and forever thereafter the shoe squeaks with every step.

Shoe runs small. I wear a 15D and this shoe was too small. I have in the past been able to wear some 14D shoes that run large. I can't speak to any of the other characteristics of the shoe, as it was too tight.

As another viewer pointed out, these shoes SQUEAK. I have owned 4 pairs of these, and the last 3 have all squeaked badly after a very short time. This must be a defect. Other than that, amazingly comfortable, supportive, and durable.

The service was excellent. I would come back to shop here. The shoes did start to squeak in less than 2 weeks.

Squeaky shoes - I've had these sneakers for about 3 months and they never stopped squeaking. They appear to wear very quickly as well. Overall I'm disappointed.

The Nike Air Monarch III shoe is OK but falls short of the quality of shoe purchased 3 years ago. The 4E Nike that I first purchased fit quite well. The 4E Nike: Air Monarch III does not. In fact, I've already given it to a charity organization - then went to a store in the next town to purchase a shoe that fit. Which was a shoe made by New Balance. Best to go to a store and try the shoe on first. I've learned my lesson. Of course, if you find one locally that fits, and you can save money by ordering the same shoe online might work for you - but the same shoe may be made in different Asian countries, and not be quite the same. Zappos did zip the shoe to me pronto - but since the recent recession, so has everyone I purchase from on the internet. It seems it goes out before you can change your mind. Hope this helps someone. Recently I purchased a pair of Nike Air Monarch shoes. The pricing was very competitive and I was excited that they were available in my size 10 1/2 M. They arrived in a timely manner with paper work enclosed. I checked to confirm the size with that of the same style I had which were completely worn out. They were the same size so I tossed the old ones along with the paper work. The new pair does not fit at all and my reward is that my two big toes are now black.

Air Monarch III - I like the look of the shoes, but they are a small size 14-4E. I thought they would be a little bigger than they are. I only wore a size 13-3E until I ordered these. And still my toe comes up to the very end of the shoe. If I order another pair of Nike I will order a size 15 4-E.

Disappointed in the comfort! These shoes look pretty good in black but, after having worn them for a good while now, I realize that they aren't too comfortable. I walk and stand on concrete floors at work on 12 hr. shifts and I'm telling you, they hurt the bottom of my feet after just a few hours. I hope to have better results with my new Brooks Addiction Walkers in the 09' version. Since I buy shoes based on customer reviews, I had to be honest about the Nike Air Monarch III's.

The shoes look cool and are quite comfortable. My only gripe is that the air bladders on both shoes burst within a couple of months and now they squeak and pop constantly when I walk. I am a bigger guy so maybe normal sized people won’t have this problem, but if you are also bigger than average and find that you wear out shoes quickly. This might not be the shoe for you unless you want people to hear you coming.

Well I got these shoes for a few reasons. I had some Nike basketball shoes for two months and I outgrew them. I am a big Nike fan so I was about do track in a month and my mom told me cross trainer shoes are good so I got these at first. I thought they look cool but after a few days I didn't. Even though the absorption feels nice and squashy it doesn't absorb that much. They killed my ankles in track so I got new shoes two days into track. Nike Air Tri-D, now those shoes have great absorption. They are very light weight but these are kind of heavy so don't get them.

Squishy shoe after only a couple weeks - Very comfortable shoe. Love the fit. Only bad thing is that both shoes have started "squishing" on every step. Apparently the air bladders inside shoes have ruptured or something. Very annoying while walking around. This is the second pair of Nike shoes that have done this. I don't play ball or anything; these are just worn as a casual shoe.

Tight at the Toe - From the heel to just before the ball of the foot, it feels just right. But from the ball to the toe, it starts to feel tight. The toe section feels a full size smaller that marked.

This is a good shoe, but the leather is synthetic, which means that it will be a warm shoe in the summer months.

I needed comfy all black work shoes so I bought these. They were fine for about the first 2 or 3 months then they fell apart. The soles would squeak badly when walking, and the foot support was reduced drastically. I don't do really strenuous work either, just walking around outside a little. I had this same pair of shoes before and shame on me for buying them again. The first pair lasted about 7-8 months though.

They were nice at first, but now the soles make noise like you're walking through crazy glue. I would avoid these sneakers like Britney Spears avoids coherent sentences!

Even though shoes are a very individual thing, it seems hard to believe that someone would find these shoes comfortable. It is as if the heel is way too high, causing the heel to hit the ground very early when walking.

They messed with the classic Air Monarch design! It's got a narrower toe box, wider heel, and arch has moved. Bad both ways. Back she goes!

Toe box too narrow; instep too low; shoes turn inward putting stress on the ankle.

This shoe is good for wide feet, but the soles really trap sand and dirt. When I go inside a house, the floor is loaded with sand/dirt from these shoes. I’ve never had a shoe do this.

Do you like really loud sneakers? These shoes are very comfortable but after 3 months squeak constantly while walking. If you enjoy being the center of attention get these shoes. They make everyone look at you as you walk through a quiet area and attract everyone's attention with a "Squeak... thump... Squeak... thump". Though in all fairness the other shoe has started to squeak so its all squeak all the time. It's a shame because otherwise they are fantastic; I've never owned a more comfortable pair, but now after 3 months I'll be tossing them out.

Very Disappointed! I've been a Nike fan for years, and bought these to replace my last pair which had finally given up the ghost. I love the way they look, and the first day, when I wore them around the house, I thought they would be just as comfortable as the last pair. WRONG! 3 months of walking the dog 2+ miles a day and they are STILL nowhere near broken in. They feel stiff, and the insoles are as hard as a rock! They also have a rather pointy toe - not quite sure why Nike did that, but I'm noticing more of their styles are like this. I wish I could send these back. I have since bought a pair of New Balance that are far more comfortable.

Waste - It's so wasteful - bought these shoes for work; day one was great, day two I heard a nasty sucking sound from the sole of the shoe - BLOWN AIR POCKET!!! Heed my advice, go for the New Balance style most similar to these. 30 times more durable!
