New Balance Comfort - I have worn New Balance shoes for years and I can honestly say that the NB WR1123 is one of the most comfortable and stabilizing shoes that I have ever worn. I forget that they are on my feet.

Good for problem feet - This is the first athletic shoe I've ever found that is completely comfortable on my problem feet. I have bunions, extra wide feet, and flat arches. The round toe box makes them more comfortable than other "wide" running shoes that come to a point at the toe.

Best running shoe ever! These shoes fit my narrow ankles, support my pronating tendencies (I can't do that in these) the cushion is incredible. I can spread my toes completely and my ingrown toenail has not returned. My bunion is not a problem in these. I am walking/running 5 miles daily on my treadmill and handling 12 hour shifts at work without any pain whatsoever (I'm a nurse practitioner in an urgent care clinic). In addition, they are CUTE! I am planning to order a second pair in case NB decides to discontinue them.

Love Them! I've owned numerous styles of New Balance shoes and love them all. This shoe did feel wider than others of the same width; however, overall I love this shoe! Looks pretty too.

Awesome shoes!!! After suffering from over-pronation issues, I went to a specialty running store and discovered how great New Balance shoes are. I fell in love with the 1122 model, and the 1123 is even better. Great for running, jogging, or long distance walking. Worth the higher price.

New Balance Rocks! This is the replacement style for 1122. Even though they aren't exactly the same as 1122, they are very comfortable and offer great support. I have wide feet and over pronate. I have purchased at least 12 pairs of 1122 and was not sure if they would be as comfortable but they are great.

Comfort, Support and Style - I owned a few pairs of the New Balance 1122 shoe and just loved them. During the past 6 months, I wasn't able to find anymore 1122's in my size so I had to look for something else. All the shoes I tried on just weren't the same. I severely overpronate when I walk and the 1122's were the only shoe I found that provided the support I needed until NOW. The New Balance WR 1123 provides great support, is comfortable and I really love the purple! This shoe also comfortably fits orthotics. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who used to wear 1122s as you won't be disappointed.

A great choice for wide feet - I have to admit, these shoes are so nice, I'm afraid to use them for fear of scuffing them up! I have a high arch and have to get 2E (in any shoe) to compensate, even though I measure a D width, so I got the New Balance Arch Support Performance Insoles to put in these in place of the ones that come in the shoe. They feel great! I didn't have to get a half-size larger, either, as I've heard you're supposed to do with athletic shoes.

I was a member of Curves for approximately 2-3 months when I began to have problems with pain in both feet. Two years prior to that, I had both knee's replaced. I developed posterior tibia tendinitis and plantar fascia in both feet....Very painful!. Cancelled my membership, went to a podiast, physical therapy, and orthotics were made. I find these to be rigid, solid, and stabilizing, which helps me to be able to walk and stand without pain.

I miss the WR1122! The toe box is narrower than in the older version of this shoe. It is just as comfortable once I ordered a half size up to account for the narrower toe box. I thank the customers who warned me that this would be the case. I wear a wide (2E) shoe and need the space. So far so good in the comfort while running department.

These shoes are great for people who need to add orthotics or special insoles and they come in wide widths. However, like another commenter, my pair started to smell really nasty after about 6 months and it's not a foot odor, it's something else. It doesn't respond to sprays or powders. New Balance needs to fix this problem.

I settled on this shoe as it was the only running shoe with 4E width for women. Finally I have a shoe that is going to be wide enough for my foot both before and after a run. I took out the insole and put my own in and they seem to work okay. They seem much stiffer than I like in a shoe, probably due to the motion control (I have bought neutral shoes in the past), but I think I will get used to that.

When I first put these shoes on, I felt I had finally found sneakers for my big wide feet. After wearing them for just a few minutes I found one foot was going numb and the top of my foot was hurting. I think it is from the tongue of the shoe being so thick. I am going to try a 2E instead and see if that helps. Otherwise love the shoe.

I was so excited to try these shoes as a previous reviewer described my feet exactly (narrow ankle, wide forefoot and high arches). These shoes fit perfectly, but the motion control caused me horrible pain. I felt the rollbar in my left shoe immediately, and after walking for 2 minutes I had shooting pain in my left leg. Such a shame, they fit so well.

These shoes are very comfy but look seriously orthopedic. My feet are happy but these are in no way stylish or cute. My one serious complaint is that the tongue of the shoe does not remain securely in place, requiring a retie of shoes every couple of hours.

I have bad Plantar Fasciitis in my left foot and was hoping these sneakers would help minimize the shock/pain when I am out walking for exercise. They really don't, at best I would say they increase the distance I can walk whilst still tolerating the pain, but after I take the sneakers off the pain is as bad as it ever was. Having said that they are a good sturdy walking shoe and have good support especially if you are inclined to turn your foot inwards when you walk like me.

Really comfortable and great on the treadmill. My only concern is that they are slippery in the rain.

A terrific walking shoe. I took out the insert, and put in my own orthotics, and I could wear them all day. The right shoe squeaks a bit but that is a small price to pay. A shoehorn is helpful. Am very particular about my walking shoes, and this one is the best! I love the extra width around the toe area. Toes are never scrunched during long walks.

Count me in as another 1122 fanatic. It was the best shoe, ever, in quality and comfort and longevity. Its replacement, the 1123, has one big plus--its mesh fabric is cooler\/more comfortable during the summer months. I walk about four miles every morning and appreciate the comfort and stability the shoe provides, plus the fact that it is large enough to accommodate my orthotics, necessary because I am still recovering from plantar fasciitis. I have two concerns with the 1123: the back of the shoe always collapses when I slide my foot in, making it necessary to enter the shoe on an angle. Also, the fact that the shoes squeak loudly with every step. They usually stop by the third mile but really!

I have had problems with my feet and recently had surgery to correct bunions...ouch! This shoe is the best. It doesn't allow my foot to roll to the inside with every step. The design is amazing. I do think it looks a bit boxy and it appears I have orthopedic shoes on when wearing, but the comfort is what I was looking for and found it with this shoe.

These shoes are solid. I have been having pain in my knees due to how my ankles are and how I step. These have greatly helped reduce my knee pain. I am on my feet all day, moving non-stop, plus I exercise three times a week. These shoes are not pretty, but get the job done! Oh, the one thing I will say I do not like about these shoes is that they squeak... people hear me coming, but my knee pain was so much, that I don’t care about the noise.

This shoe is a replacement for NB 1122, but it is larger and fits differently, which is unfortunate, as, for me, 1122 solved my walking problem after a break and foot surgery. I don't mind different superficial styling and color, but the 1122 fit was awesome. Lots of us liked it! New Balance should bring it back in its original form.

These shoes are comfortable for someone with a wide foot and high arch. I have trouble finding shoes I can wear because of Fibromyalgia and neuropathy which cause foot pain. I use this pair of shoes when I'm going somewhere I'll be walking a lot, like shopping or to a fair. I like the thick soles, because I walk on gravel roads every day for exercise. I don't always wear this pair of shoes because they look nice enough to wear when I go out in public, but these will eventually become my daily walking shoes. The shoe is not too heavy considering the thick sole. The color they call Lollipop is a pretty purple. The toes are an odd shape; when I look down on my feet, it looks like both shoes are for the same foot. Not flattering, but the comfort is what I'm looking for. New Balance is the only brand I've found that I usually wear comfortably. Zappos is the very best place to buy shoes, especially for those of us who have few to no shopping options near our homes.

Not a replacement for 1122; this is a whole different shoe. I was a faithful wearer of the 1122. Was very disappointed to hear they were discontinued. Got these as they were the replacement. Expected all the good qualities plus maybe something in addition. What a disappointment. 1st, not as deep, therefore, doesn't have the overall support for the entire foot-top to sole. 2nd, the heel material is way too soft to be supportive. It is so soft that it bends forward when putting the shoes on, and the sides aren't as high so less support for those of us with weaker ankles that have been severely sprained in the past. The overall quality of the leather seems less durable resulting in less support of the foot on the whole. The 1122 lasted forever. I get these only because the 1122 is no longer available. I wonder if NB isn't making the 1122 model anymore because they certainly outlasted the 1123. I miss the higher platform on the heel of the 1122. The higher platform was much better for cushioning and support of the ankle and heel when I spend 8 hours a day on concrete. I wish I would have discovered that 1122 was being discontinued earlier so I could have bought several extra pairs. I now save my last good pair of 1122s for indoors wear only when I know I will have a long day on my feet.

Very attractive athletic shoe, I read somewhere that these were made for people with: Ball-of-Foot Pain Calluses Flat Feet Heel Pain & Heel Spurs Pronation Supination Swollen Feet and Legs. I can say they feel good upon 1st trying on; however, I need more time to say for sure that they will help me. My feet are in desperate condition and it will take weight loss to help me in my quest for pain relief of my feet and a back injury that causes me daily chronic pain.
