Although this shoe may look a little clunky, it gives great support and motion control. I have a pair for the gym and another for walking. Nice deep toe box. Arch support is good. Helps this grandmother to keep active!

This was my first time ordering from Zappos and I was ordering a product I had never tried on before. There are not too many shoe stores where I live. I was swayed by the promise of free shipping for return if I needed it. I didn't, so I can't comment on the ease of return. My shoes arrived earlier than expected, and were just what I needed. I'll use Zappos again. This shoe felt true to size, a little wider in the toe box, but just to size around the instep. I got it because it was supposed to supply good lateral support and work with orthotics. It definitely provides both. My ankles haven't hurt since i've been wearing these shoes.

These are very comfortable shoes. Nice wide toe box, good support. Wish it came in colors other than white!I would rather have blue or brown.

I bought these shoes based on the great reviews, and I love them and am so happy! I could tell an immediate difference in the comfort and support as soon as I stood up. I went walking in this shoe and usually my feet hurt for the first 20 minutes. I had already walked 40 minutes, and I was still feeling great! I can't wait to take these babies to Europe this summer. As to the comments about style, they're not as bad you might think. With workout pants or jeans, they look great.

This shoe is second only to its predecessor the 1122. It is comfortable and durable but New Balance needs to make it available in a wider range of colors. Excellent fit--even for custom orthotics!

This shoe is perfect for people who need to protect their foot/ankle from rolling. It provides excellent balance when walking on surfaces that are not level.

This shoe is the best tennis shoe I've ever had. It's really very good and worth every penny.

These shoes are extremely comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and ankle pain; however, since I started wearing these shoes to walk in, the majority of the pain has ceased. I like the fact that they are made of leather and not plastic.

I have to agree that these are not the most stylish shoes, and I hate the mesh since it's so hard to keep clean, but overall, I wouldn't trade these for anything! I have flat feet and my foot doc said this was absolutely the best shoe I could get. They fit my custom orthotics very well. Overall, about $600 on my feet, but whatever it takes to be pain free! By the way, many of my other shoes are 8-8 1/2 and I wear a 9 in these.

I have serious feet problems (pronation). Dr. recommended this shoe several years ago to help stabilize the "roll" of my ankles inward. Best shoe of its type ever for my foot issues. I have to put a rx orthotic in the shoe which it accommodates and I am now pain free!

I love these shoes for walking. They have great support and are sturdy. I tried several different brands before buying these.

Oh my goodness...this shoe is amazing. I just bought it and walked on the treadmill, and it felt so good and much easier to walk in than my other New Balance shoe. It felt great right away, and just seemed to take the stress off of my foot. I have arch problems, and this shoe fit the bill. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who loves to walk, but has arch and heel problems.

I have plantar fasciitis and decided to try this shoe since I needed a good, supportive shoe for motion control. I found it very comfortable from the start and have been wearing the shoes daily. I also like the look of the shoe, color etc.

My podiatrist recommended this particular brand of shoe with this particular style number. Evidently with New Balance the higher/larger the style number the more supportive the shoe is. I've been wearing mine every day now for several weeks and can attest to the fact that the shoes are very supportive and comfortable.

This shoe is great if your toes are squeezed in another model shoe. Space for problem toes!

For a person with pronated feet and a flexible foot. These are the perfect shoes.

I have an extra wide foot and high instep...this shoe felt great. Even though they feel about 1/2 size larger, they are very comfortable. I would recommend them.

These are very comfortable shoes, and I have been able to run without a re-occurrence of my plantar fasciitis. My achilles tendon is feeling good too. These are really good motion control shoes and I would recommend them highly.

Best sneakers ever! Not the prettiest ever, but hey, I'm not complaining. This is the most pain-free I've been in a while. I've got falling arches and bunions and wide feet, all the awesome stuff that makes shoes unbearable. Never mind that I had to sell a kidney on the black market to pay for them. Totes worth it.

I bought these shoes about 3 months ago at the advice of my foot doctor. I've been happy with them, but can't say that they solved my foot problem. They are nice and wide so really good if you spin or use elliptical machines as your feet have plenty of room and I don't encounter toe numbness any longer. I've also done lots of walking. I don't think I would want to run in them as they are very flat. I also have plantar fasciitis (which is under control) and these shoes did not bring it back. I don't think I'll buy another pair, but if you need a wide comfortable shoe, I'd buy it. They are true to size. Oh, they aren't pretty. I call them my "wide load" sneakers.

Loved the shoe but not the fact that the "Lollipop" bled while wearing. Money down the drain. It was my Christmas present to myself, I noticed only after three weeks of wear. I was extremely disappointed especially since it was my 6th pair of athletic shoes from New Balance. I was a Nike girl before then. Had numerous foot surgeries and New Balance had the wider shoe, and better arch support. I am a massage therapy instructor so I wear athletic shoes on a daily basis...now what?

had to order this product 3 times before I gave up. I order a 9 wide but the toe box was so I wide and the length was much longer than my insert. So I ordered an 8 1/2 wide too short. Finally a 9 regular. I just settled for this for now. I am not happy because the sneakers looks like its on the wrong foot. The tongue is too short and slides to the side. Very, very disappointed. Will not recommend!
