This shoe wears great, lasts a long time, and has very good arch support for someone who is at their desk some and up walking around a lot.

I love these shoes. However, unlike my other sets, notably the Tyndall brown wings, the sole of the shoes are very slick out of the box and require significant ruffing before wear. A rigid sole, similar to the Tyndall is a more practical sole, and required less work out of the box. All other aspects of the shoes are of the highest quality, style, and comfort. I have recommended the shoes to all my friends and colleagues, of which many have bought.

I had been searching for a classic part of black wingtips for several years now. I always knew of J&M's but wanted to look around before making my final decision. Tried on several pair and this one was just right. I would have rated it a 5... but I tried on the hand-made Italians just before... oh how perfect! Price tag was a bit rich for my blood though. All in all very pleased with the shoe.

This is a great shoe. My old black dress shoes ripped and I needed a new pair to wear right away. I purchased this and they fit beautifully right away, I didn't need to break them in at all. I would recommend this shoe to anyone.

This is for work

The thing to watch is that only some of their dress shoes can be resoled locally, all the others have to be sent to the factory because they do not have solid soles. Instead, may have a cut out in the heel in the name of putting in some sort of heel cushion. Result- not resoleable locally, only factory. Who wants a shoe with the bottom of the heel cut out? So its either the Optima- a perfectly fine shoe, or the Aristocrat which I also own, also solid leather

these shoes took only 3 days to break in. They are very comfortable and I am extremely pleased with them.

Very stiff leather. Still trying to break it in. Sole is very comfy.

I've only had these a short time and the stitching is coming apart on both shoes, where they crease slightly when I walk. I contacted J&M and they sent me a pre-paid postage form to return them for an assessment. I understand problems occur and I am hopeful that customer service will remedy the issue for me.

One can't go wrong with a pair of wingtip shoes. Johnston & Murphy are well known for stylish and classy shoes. I own four pairs of Johnston & Murphy shoes and recommend any fellow looking for style & comfort to try a pair. I hope Johnston & Murphy re visit the nostalgia era of the forties and add two tone wing tips in burgundy & white.

I bought the same shoes 9-10 years ago and still wear them. I just got a new pair, sadly the new once can't compare to the quality from years back. I love the brand and I am very disappointed. I really wish J&M continued manufacturing in the USA instead of India. The quality of the shoe dropped tremendously, the stitching and gluing seems cheap and much wider then they used to be, it lost its sleek look and become like a pair galoshes.

SOMETHING HAS CHANGED WITH THE MAKING OF THE SHOE. NOSE OF SHOE IS LARGER THAN BEFORE AND THE SIZING IS NOT CORRECT. 9.5 IS LARGER THAN IT SHOULD BE AND I HAVE HAD 10/12 PAIR OF THESE SHOES.

I got this pair of shoe as a gift and the patterns along the side are already coming off on the sides. It had them since last Christmas. Very disappointed in this shoe and jm. This is one of many pairs I use.

They blister my big toe. Where the shoe bends it rubs and causes painful blisters. I've worn two pairs of socks and band aids trying to break them in for 2 months and still terrible
