These boots take a long time to break in, but are sexy and durable. I love the grips on the bottom of the boots; that's hard to get in a ladies' boot.

Great looking boots! If only they came in half sizes... I love these boots, but I really wish that they came in half sizes. I tried them in two different sizes, and ended up deciding to go with the slightly large boots because the smaller ones were too tight when I tried them on (they pinched, ouch). The larger boots rub a little in the heel, but I am planning to buy inserts.

Docs for biking - Wanted motorcycle boots I could walk in and while these don't have the extra ankle protection I'd like, they are very comfortable for all day wear. I added Keens insoles for better foot support and they are fine for walking a couple of miles. The lacing makes them fit well and the zipper facilitates a quick on/off. Adding SnoSeal made them waterproof.

Ouch. The leather in these are too stiff. They are just painful. With a zipper and laces you'd think the fit would be adjustable, but somehow they are baggy in the ankle. Sadly I will have to return these.

I love these boots! I bought these in Purple, which adds character to this classic boot. It is super comfortable and I wear it casually with jeans/leggings tucked in it. And I've also worn it with a dress (for a more dressed-up-edgy look). I am a size 11 and felt it gave a little more wiggle room (great for winter socks). They felt a little stiff at first around the ankle, but I broke into them in no time. The only complaint is sometimes it gets a little weird ripple effect in the ankle area, but mainly when I tuck in my jeans.

I had these same boots about 8 years ago, and they were awesome! I bought another pair through Zappos, and the best thing is that they are exactly the same but they now have a full length zipper on the side. Makes a huge difference, it's a pain having to un-lace and re-lace the 20 eyes, so that zipper is a welcome feature. With Docs you can always know you are getting good quality, and the price isn't bad either. Stylish and great for a tough Colorado winter!

It has taken awhile to break the boots in. It is a little painful around the ankles. They look adorable with skinny jeans! Definitely worth the purchase!

Zappos is a wonderful company! If you need to call the company they are always there to help you with a friendly voice to correct any problem in a matter of minutes, sometime seconds! There return policy is fast and free and unlike some companies they trust you and ship out the new shoe before they receive the returned item!

I had a pair of these in high school that got lost at some point, so I got my new ones yesterday. I've been wearing Docs for a good fifteen years, so putting these on was pure pleasure. I work as a lab tech and I wore them to work today and I have to say, they are comfortable and wonderful. Since I've got calluses on my ankles from other shoes, I've had no pain or discomfort at all. I'm very pleased with my boots.

All I have to say is WOW!!!! The boots are comfortable--really easy to get on and off. Really happy with this purchase. It just took me a few purchases to get the right shoe and size. Zappos customer service was really helpful. The only thing about the boots that I didn't like was that around the heel it really hurt, the leather was really tough. I was able to break them in pretty easily, though. Now all I have to do is find the right pair of socks. These boots are a really good buy.

I bought these for my wife for her birthday. She ended up wearing them everyday for a week while traveling, and reports that they are, without a doubt, the most comfortable boot she's ever worn. I know that she's had foot problems in the past with sneakers, UGGS, and other shoes, but these seem to have remedied all of her problems...And they look great too...now, if I could just get the kid at the supermarket to stop hitting on her, everything would be great!

Love them! Very cute. Like others have said, the leather is pretty thick and kinda hard around the ankles, but I haven’t gotten any blisters or anything. Allow yourself a week or two to break them. I love them. Enough space at the toe and a nice slim fit on the legs, because the calf is adjustable with the laces. They seem super high quality. Usually I need high arch support, and these don’t seem to have any, but it hasn’t been a problem, maybe the leather is holding up my arches? Anyway, my feet haven’t hurt at all.

I love to camp and hike in the Desert. My 20 year old snake boots fell apart. They were great, and I was really happy with them, but they were water proof which I didn’t need and well padded which was hot (for Tucson). Mostly it was too much work lacing them up and unlacing SO these boots have a side zipper, but still lace for a tight fit. Plain leather which I think will stop snake bites and they are cool without all the padding. They ARE WORK TO BREAK-IN, but I can wear them all day now, and hope that I can hike in them. If not, they are cool desert boots any way. Wish they came in brown. Oh I added heel pads and it helped.

I LOVE these boots! They are a great height and the side zipper is a very important addition for easy on/off action. The one down side is that they are made of a very stiff leather and I am having a very hard time breaking them in the heel and ankle. Ouch!

I love these boots, you can always count on Dr. Martens to be comfortable. I wish they came in half sizes since I'm a true 6 1/2, but I got the 6 and once they were broken in they were great. Very happy with this purchase!

Love these boots, took forever (like, a year!) to break-in, no lie. And the laces barely made it to the top, because I have large-ish calves. I'm short (5'2"), and these just hit under my knees. But once-broken in, they're very comfortable & warm. Great for the cold snowy winters. Give my outfits a rockin' edge. Sexy, fierce. Awesome.

Should have bought these 20 years ago! Making up for lost time. The leather is amazing, very high quality. Going to take some time to break these puppies in properly. I have a size 9-9.5 foot, but have a very high instep, so always need a 10 in boots. These fit a little bit big, but just as I expected. Very small issues to solve with socks or gel inserts. The most room is around the back of the heel, as others have reported. I love these boots so much I had to buy an ankle pair as well. It's never too late to have cool shoes!
