These will need to break in a bit but I knew that going in. The leather is stiff but not painful. The soles are forgiving and great for standing and walking. Size was perfect.

I ordered these in Womens 7 based off reviews that these ran big. I also ordered them on amazon in size 8 womens. The 8's were huge, although slightly different oxford in style and leather....these were too small. I am normally an 8 8.5 in shoes.. Vans 8, Frye's 8 to 8.5. I think Docs are one of those shoes that you just have to find the right style for them to fit. Esp with the UK sizing, Unisex sizing etc. I have flat but thin feet so I think its just MY feet perhaps. I have the Zip front ones in an 8 and they fit like a glove.

I absolutely love these shoes. I always wanted a pair in elementary school and could enjoy them now at 37years old. The first wear they feel a bit stiff and I would suggest putting a bandaid right at your heel to avoid rubbing. They are getting softer with each wear and I like them better than the high boots (which I have since sold). I will definitely get more wear out of these. I almost want to buy a 2nd pair because I don’t want to live without them! They look good with jeans, leggings, dresses, everything! Highly recommended.

They run big. I’m usually a women’s 9. I returned them because they were too big. 8 fits perfectly. I’d recommend the matte leather finish over these shiny ones. I just bought them & love them.

Had to order up half size but so comfortable for work that I will make it work. Really great looking shoe.

I’d been looking for something to wear other than a boot and decided (after ordering other brands) to Oder drm. Love them!

Yes to these. I am still breaking them in (I've worn them only 4 times), but I am happy with the progress so far. I love how they look and am confident that I have the right size. I tend to wear a 8 1/2 or 9 in women's in US sizes and have struggled with other companies' sizing. I am stoked on the sturdiness of these shoes and look forward to them becoming part of my normal rotation as I continue to break them in.

Smoooth is the word. These are great shoes. I am in the "breaking in" period but I love them. Also, one of the best things about this purchase was that Zappos sent me 30 bucks in rewards! That's the real story here. Thanks !

These are great and very comfortable. As always DM rules. Just decided to go with patent leather. Also the classic yellow stitching makes them less formal. Lol

I needed new shoes to work, as I spend long hours standing, and the flats I had were killing me. I had a pair of DrM in the past that lasted me forever so went and ordered these. I am extremely happy, they are super cute and comfortable. They need a bit of breaking for sure, but other than that, these are fantastic. Beautifully built and sturdy. I am a 7.5, and since they don't have half sizes, I got a US8. I would suggest to order up, not down. Ordering down would not leave room for socks, and also the first couple weeks would be painful. Mine are a tad bigger, but only enough to make them comfortable and winter sock appropriate. Love them!

I read the reviews on this shoe and noted the suggestion to order down to the nearest whole size. I have been buying shoes in 8 and 8.5 depending on the style and took the advice and ordered a size 8. I have a wider foot and will buy woman's "W" or "C" when available. The size 8 is perfect and the width is perfect as well. (I have a high instep and an average heel) Note: The tops of the backs hurt both feet on the first two wearings. I noticed I got blisters! I let the blisters heal before the third wearing and no longer have an issue. Oh, my right pinky toe is a long-time trouble maker and it was barking on the first two outings. I stuck a shoe stretcher into the shoe and cranked the stretcher to the widest position and left it in the shoe for a few days. I also rubbed the outside of the shoe at the point where that painful toe was hitting. The toe doesn't hurt anymore and I assume the shoe just needed a bit of a stretch and a softening of the leather. Love, love, love the soles of this shoe! The gum rubber (or whatever material this is) sole is like walking on a cloud. I recommend this shoe with the understanding you may need to "break-in" the shoe. Some shoes NEVER break-in but this one will and the patience is certainly worth the effort.

LOVE these hip shoes... they pretty much go with most everything. They are quite stiff out of the box. Especially the backs and I had to use band aides for awhile but they are great now.

I love these shoes. I read the reviews and "true to size" seemed to be the consensus. So I wear a 6.5 and ordered the 7's. Too big!!! So I ordered the 6's and they're a perfect fit. I say if you're a half size, order down. Also, do not understand people who mentioned the shoes need breaking in. I think they comfy already and not rubbing anywhere.

Usually I am a 9.5-10 in shoes. I went with the 9 and they fit great. The 10 would definitely be too big - the 9 was a little snug at first but I broke in the shoes within 2-3 days. They're awesome.

A great shoe that makes your feet look petit. A versatile shape makes this a great work shoe or casual walkabout. You will want to put they on everyday.

I injured my ankle last Spring which has limited which shoes I may wear. After purchasing a pair of Doc M boots was pleasantly surprised at how much comfort they provided. I purchased these in an attempt to replicate that comfort. The leather is very stiff which causes a long break in period. I am still trying to soften that leather up. The quality of these shoes is really key. I would purchase them in every color if I could. The style is certainly not everyone's taste but I bought them for me.

I had a pair of these for 10 years and they were always in top condition. I lost them in a move a few years ago and just ordered them again. They are exactly I remember. Take some breaking in but have that classic Docs look. I have a wide foot which means it usually takes me longer to break them in, but the 1461 W fit right the first time.

Bought for my daughter who loves it. The shoes are probably 1/2 size larger but I rated it a full size larger because Dr. Marten offers full size only. Not a fan of stiff shoes myself, I have to admit it's a looker on my daughter's feet.

I am always happy with Dr Martens. They produce shoes that appeal to my inner artist. I always receive compliments when I wear them. They can be dressed up or down.

Get a size smaller...heel is wide. Had to send my first pair back. Great service from Zappos. Otherwise, comfortable but non boring shoes I can wear to work without getting dress code demerits. Break in took a couple of weeks.

Absolutely love 'em. They do run large so had to re-order - but thanks to Zappos amazing service had the right size in no time at all. After 1 wearing they are one of the most comfortable pairs of oxfords I own. Highly recommend them.

Ordered these for my daughter for a Christmas gift after hearing her hints that she wanted them. I did not know what size to order but wanted her to open a box on Christmas morning. Took a chance because of the free shipping both ways. Lucked out and ordered the right size and she started wearing them Christmas day! Since she was happy with the shoes right away, I am rating below based on what I think she would say.

I love them! Can not wait for the weather to cool down to wear them. I am going to wear them with skirts, pants, & leggings.
