I cannot believe I waited so many years to get these. Like 30 years. Why?! I love them. Out of the box is tight and you will definitely need some bandaids for the first couple of wears...but soon after that the leather stretches and your docs are good to go.

I got these for my daughter, I haven't been cool enough to wear Dr.'s since college (though with this style, I think I may go back!). She LOVES them and they were comfortable for her right out of the box. We were trying to find the right shoe for her to wear with a black dress skirt and cardigan for a college interview. She's NOT a heel or even ballet flat kind of girl, so I knew an oxford style would be perfect. Her other favorite pair of shoes is the Dr. M's boot, so this matched her personal style to a T. It looks SO cute with the preppy clothes, just the right amount of funk.

I want to say I LOVE these, and I think I will with a bit of time. I've wanted a pair of Doc's forever, finally took the plunge. They are beautiful! I read the reviews, and bought down a size as people recommended. I'm normally a 9.5 US and sometimes a 10. Got the 9. The length of the shoe is perfect! It's the width that is going to take some breaking in, and I do not have a wide foot. It's not super narrow either, but never wide. So my average width 9.5 size foot fits in the 9's lengthwise, but is very snug width wise. I refuse to return them though, as I'm sure they will loosen with time. Plus I just adore them so much.

Bought these shoes because I just LOVE the menswear look! Had doubts about the fit after reading all the reviews, and I've only worn them once, but I know they will work out just fine. Size and width were true to the US size 9 (UK 7). As stated in reviews, they were a bit stiff, but I'm anticipating they will soften up with wear. That said, the first time worn they didn't chafe or hurt (I did, however, keep them very loosely tied!). Cool shoes!

I am a hip Grandma who has worn Docs for over 30 years. They do run a bit big, but for me this eliminates the break in period. They are heavy shoes, so I only wear them in the colder months with good socks.

I bought these to replace a pair I had years ago, and I am still a fan. I’m usually a 7.5 to 8 depending on the shoe, so I bought an 8 in the regular unisex style like I normally do. They were far too big, so I exchanged them for this women’s style in a 7 and they are perfect. A padded insole was added to the shoe at some point and it makes them even more comfortable. The womens model has a narrower vamp which was snug at first, but after light wear it broke in to fit nicely. They are stiff when you first put them on, but I wore them for a day around the house and they broke in enough so I can wear them normally now. All in all, this was a good purchase and now I’m off to purchase the 1460s.

First of all, let me say that Zappos totally rocks! These 1461 W Dr. Martens are great looking--I'm crazy about them. I ordered size 7 as advised, which is my usual size, but the shoes are too big all around my ankles. I put on thick socks and they felt somewhat better, but not completely, so am returning and trying a different style in a smaller size.

I had a foot injury in high school - no obvious fractures, but I've got a very high/painful instep. Changing shoes helps me. I go from MBTs to Doc Martens, sometimes wedge/platforms for short periods of time. I like to be 'different' and these are definitely for me - the sparkles are great, do not flake off & I wore them a full day the first time I put them on - my feet were very happy. Love my Martens!

I have worn Dr. Martens shoes for 25 years, but now I have to stop - apparently my feet grew, and Dr. Martens does not make half sizes. The last pair was extremely painful to break in (like a knife's edge above the heel, ruined all my socks, too), and it took months until they were reasonably comfortable. By that time they did not look new any more. After only a year and a half now the sole comes apart. That NEVER happened before. And now I finally realized that all the pain was caused by the shoes being too small. I tried on the next bigger size which I might make wearable with insoles - but they are an inch longer than my usual size, very bulky, and I feel like a clown in them. Now if there were a size in between, I would buy them again even though the quality has dropped significantly. But this way - bye bye Dr. Martens.

The shoes fit true to size. Stiff and heavy, per the nature of the shoe, but actually very comfortable and I've been able to wear them all day at work.

Broke in quickly and are really a comfortable, all-purpose shoe for winter.

They were cute and comfortable I just couldn’t justify keeping them, not sure where I’d wear them.

I love these shoes. They were squeaky the first time I wore them but that stopped quickly. I wear a 9 1/2 and ordered the 9. Fit perfect.

I am usually a Women's 9.5 in athletic shoes like vans or nikes. I ordered the UK7 (US Womens 9) and they fit perfect. The leather is very stiff and they are straight up painful out of the box but I know from experience this is part of the process with Docs. Wear them with thick socks and the leather will stretch and soften to perfection.

I wear 7-7.5 US wms shoes. I debated a lot about a 4 or 5 UK size. I worried they wd be too small so got the 5/US 6, and they were too big. UK 4 fits well. They are snug, and I need a bandaid at the heel right now, but I can tell they're going to nicely stretch, and the length is right. Style-wise, they can't be beat.

Well made shoe, will look so good dressed up different ways. A bit tight at first, but I expected to have to break them in.

I wear an 8.5 to a 9 in most shoes, and based on other reviews here, I ordered an 8. I was really nervous about this because an 8 is always too small for me in other shoes, but they are a perfect fit (unless I wear really thick socks, then they feel tight, but in any case, I have enough room in the toes.) 9 would have been too big. They will take a little breaking in because of where the back of the shoe hits, but it's not too bad. And they are very cute!

Very comfortable. Usually it takes a while for me to break into Docs but that wasn’t the case with these. All shoes I buy fit looser on my left foot but these weren’t so bad. I will definitely wear these with long thick socks, though. 10/10

Love. These. Shoes. I only wish I’d bought them sooner. As expected, the leather was quite stiff initially, but after a day or two of wear, the shoes fit like they were made for me. I get tons of compliments from a wide range of people.

Wanted to really love this pair, but weird squeak emanated from left shoe as I walked around house (louder when on hard floor than on carpet) and couldn't determine if it was vamp/tongue rub that would eventually work out or sole/stitching wonkiness... returned... sigh

We bought these for my 13 year old granddaugters birthday and she absolutely loves them..

I am obsessed with these shoes! I received them today and I am working on breaking them in. While uncomfortable at first, they do stretch as you wear them. There is a lot of support in the soles of the shoe and I can see myself wearing these everyday to work! I stand all day as a retail worker, so these will be super comfortable to wear! I usually wear a size US 8.5 and downsized to a size US 8 and there is still enough room in the toe!

I love these shoes. Didn’t take much time to break in and they are super comfy and really cute. Exactly what I wanted.

Was so excited my box arrived on my birthday! But the excitement wained when I found two left feet within. The size 7 fit my size 7 female foot just fine and looked great, but there was no place in my wardrobe for the additional size 8 left foot. Sadly sending back and waiting for my size to come in stock again. Someone out there will likely be getting two right feet when they order a size 8 since apparently the people in charge of looking over returns are not looking very close.

VERY cute!! They look adorable with "no show" socks. I'm a true size 10 and these fit perfect! Not so comfy, and more on heavy side as is most Dr. Marten shoes but the style makes up for it all! I would recommend these to family and friends!
