These boots are really nice, but have to go back. I'm 5 ft and 115 pounds. I can get these zipped over my naked leg, but jeans would never ever fit in. If you have skinny legs, you'll love these. If you have any muscle in your calf, do not bother. They'll be way to tight.

I’ve had these boots for a year. Initially really happy - stylish, comfortable, and great in winter. Within the first two months the sole started separating at the toe, but I didn’t want to go to the trouble returning and took the risk that they wouldn’t separate anymore. They did. La Canadienne wouldn’t help with an exchange or repair, but Zappos has been awesome as usual. Will not buy again, but will buy forever through Zappos.

Good looking, dry, warm walking boot - My walking lifestyle necessitates that I have shoes that are comfortable as well as good looking. Emilia meets both these criteria. Plus they are waterproof and warm for walking in the snow. I walk between 4-6 miles over the course of a day, and love the way these boots look and feel.

Great boot!! I was hopeful based on the reviews and took the plunge despite the cost. I haven’t worn them outside yet, but I’m psyched to find a boot that’s stylish yet walkable! I wear size 11 and typically get a regular width, but opted for the wide based on reviews (and I have a bunion on one foot that I’m trying to be nicer to), and I’m very glad I did. It fits like an 11 regular with a little extra space. Another nice feature of this boot is the shaft isn’t flopping around. I have regular calves (14.25 inches) and was a little worried the bigger/wider size would have my calf swimming - it doesn’t. One note - the footbed isn’t very padded so I may get an insert — there appears to be room for that. Great boot, and despite the steep price I’m planning to keep it and hope it holds up well to lots of wear!

Best boot ever!!! An air hostess on an Air Canada flight hipped me to this shoe company...I recently had foot surgery and needed to change the shoes I was wearing. I ordered this as a winter boot and I am THRILLED with it - it is probably the most comfortable boot I've ever owned. Even with the orthotics, it is a GREAT fit. They aren't cheap, but they ARE worth every penny!!!

I ordered this in my usual size 8, and it was the right size with lightweight wool socks. I returned these boots and ended up going with another style instead. Even during the short time I was trying these boots on at home, I noticed that the heel height and shape would be a problem for me - the spot between my arch and my heel was feeling a bit of pressure/soreness/lack of support even within those few minutes. Made my decision to go with the other style very easy. Beautiful boot, though, and could be dressed up or down. For me, these fit over skinny jeans.

Unlike previous reviews, I didn't think this boot was unreasonably tight in the calf. I'm 5'3" 140, with relatively muscular calves from running/lifting, and these fit me perfectly - either on their own, or over skinny jeans/leggings. I also liked the slightly shorter shaft, because they don't hit my knees when I sit down. They are very stable; I can wear them without my orthotics/plantar fasciitis inserts. And unlike a previous reviewer, I've had these for a year, and they have held up very well - to rain, and snow, and frequent wearings. My only caveat is that the square toe isn't super cute, but it is comfortable.

Love La Canadienne, and hoped these would fit, but they would not accommodate my orthotics . Nice shoes and great brand.

These boots are so comfortable and attractive! I have size 10 feet that are hard to please, and I don’t want boots that look like boats. So I am excited to find these. I wear them all day; with skirts and over skinny jeans. Love them!

I feel lucky to have found the 8W on sale. However, even the wide is a slim fit, but it works for me, I have a bunion on my left foot so need to go to the wider size. I won't be wearing these till winter, but it will be great to pull them out of the box come November. Also, if they are truly waterproof as the reviews say, they will be perfect for Seattle.

Wow, I took a chance on the width of shoe and calf but am happy I splurged. Boots are super comfortable for my WW feet. The calves were a bit apart, but pulling at the gores enabled a snug but not uncomfortable zip closure. Zipper is high quality. Have worn the suede outside in the rain and mud, but you'd never know it from the appearance. Am going to buy more from La Canadienne.

LOVE! I finally bit the bullet and ordered these to see if they were worth the high price, and I think they are. Very soft, comfortable footbed (though not really any arch support), and I like the way they really hit mid-calf (I don't look good in boots that are too close to the knee). Also they hug the calf for almost a sock-like effect, which is kind of sexy. At least they do on me - I have athletic calves, so if you have thin calves, this might not be the case. My one warning is about the size. I typically wear a 7 in boots, and the 7's were huge, so definitely size down. Also, I have wide feet, and these wides are silly... I had to get the double wide, and they barely pass as wide. Because the leather is so soft, all will be fine, but wide-footed ladies, beware - go straight for the WW, and don't be surprised if it's not particularly wider than the average width of a normal boot.

I already have another pair of La Canadienne boots (8½N) and love them. They are one of the few brands that are a true narrow. This pair also fits great but I decided that I will not get that much wear out of another pair of suede boots in south Texas.

Had to reorder a half-size smaller but then (with insoles from my sneakers) a really nice fit. Can't speak to the wear factor, they are too new.

These boots are fantastic. Very comfortable and cute. Highly recommended for skirts and pants. Suitable for work or casual. Great rubber sole makes them cushy and perfect for walking. Expensive but worth it, particularly for hard to fit narrow feet.

I thought I'd never find the perfect boot, but I finally did! These are comfortable, stylish and are sure to stand up to any weather. They are warm and cozy, with a soft lining. These "modern width" varieties (AKA wide width) is what I needed. The other boots I tried from the same brand were too tight and too narrow. These are great!

These boots are attractive and run true to width in the foot and shaft. However, there is something about the heel height that is not comfortable. It feels much higher than it looks.

Love these boots! As a shoe lover, I can tell you that I have tried many different styles, brands and types of shoes...these are among the best!

I love my Emilia boots - I love these boots. I have a size 8.5 foot and I'm not that big so am sensitive to my feet looking big. These boots make my feet look smaller. They are warm and good looking. I wear them for dress and casual. I live in a casual resort town. It's very snowy and cold where I live. I have small calves and there is a gap at the top, but it's not as bad as some boots, under pants and long skirts it doesn't show. I would highly recommend these boots.

The best money I've ever spent on all-weather boots! I absolutely LOVE these boots. I have walked all over Germany in all sorts of weather, including snow, and they are still almost brand new. I've walked all over the cities on cobble-stone roads, and my feet never hurt. I did put in a very thin insole, and this also helps, but I believe the boots are comfortable regardless. I am willing to buy another La Canadienne shoe or boot (or several pairs) any day. The price is a little higher than I am used to spending, but it's worth every penny. I also often get compliments on the style. They look wonderful!

Comfortable, elegant, and warm - After years of looking, found this great replacement for my old winter boots. Dressy and suitable for wearing with skirts; only snug jeans will fit inside. The ankle fits closely, so I think the boot will keep its shape as opposed to getting that slouchy look over time. Fits my skinny legs very well. Most of all: ordered a half size up and it fits my orthotics very comfortably! The square toe looks great and gives you more room in the toes. Price is high, but quality is excellent. A cozy winter boot!

Given this is a shorter shift, if they didn’t crinkle at the ankles they might have worked. Beautiful boot though and seems like the stand up quality know of this brand.
