Not a bad exercise sneaker. You DO have to get half a size up in it (and NOT half a size up comparing to your summer sandal, but comparing to your sneaker size). Bought it guided by all the rapturous reviews, but can't say I fully share them. The sneaker is a bit too high for me. Overall, it is worth the money. Ensures very good stability and pretty decent breathability.

Shoe fit true to size and needed no breaking in time. Wore them to class the first day I had them with great results. Will order these again when the time comes.

First I have to say Zappos is amazing. I ordered these shoes late on Friday evening (almost early Saturday morning), and these were delivered to me in Hawaii on Monday. Amazing! Thank you, Zappos! I am an aerobics instructor (hi/lo) and always end up coming back to Ryka. I'm not crazy over their shoes, but considering what is out there for studio classes, they are one of the best for my feet. I have tried Asics, Nike, and New Balance cross trainers and none of them work for my feet to teach aerobics in. After being in a pair of Asics that made my feet tired and my body sore, I came back to Ryka and my feet are so much happier. These shoes fit my feet well and provide good stability. I like the mid top, but sometimes, it cuts into my heel on my right side. My beef with Ryka is with cushioning. I wish they had more forefoot cushioning. If they did, I would be thrilled with Ryka. For me, they do the job way better than any other cross trainers I've tried, but on their own, aren't supreme. (How I miss the days when there was actually a market for aerobic dance shoes!) The shoe is more attractive than some of the newer Ryka studio shoes that have come out. (Clean, simple lines without gaudy trim & shiny material would be nice!) The shoe is light, but I wish there was a little more ventilation. Overall, it is a comfortable studio shoe and my feet are much happier being back in them. My street shoes are a size 6 and I ordered these in a 6.5. One could probably even go up one full size from there street shoe size and feel comfortable. Depends on whether you like a more snug or loose fit. My shoes are snug, but not tight and cramped (still a tiny bit of room from my big toe to the tip of the shoe).

Aerobics shoes -
These shoes are very comfortable for step aerobics. I did have to order a half-size larger than I usually wear.

Getting used to hi top -
Saw the reviews at Zappos and felt "wow - this is the shoe for me!" Needed more support and flexibility. Loved the support, lightness and feel. Getting used to the "bigger". Except I think despite the warning to get 'larger', I didn't get larger enough. With aerobics, step and running, my left foot is hitting the top of the shoe. But my aerobics instructor took one look and asked me where I got it! Of course - Zappos

Lightweight and comfortable - Great shoe for aerobics, kickboxing and various cardio workouts. Good support for manipulating back and forth movement. Only negative would be the minimum support on the ball of the foot when doing a lot of jumping jacks. (It needs an insert to offset this.) I specifically bought a half size bigger so I could add extra cushioning. I highly recommend this shoe for anyone involved in high impact classes and I definitely will buy another pair.

Not as Large as Everyone Says -
I found it wasn't quite as large as everyone said. Maybe a little less than half-size larger than your regular size. I did find the shoe a little mushy, a little too soft. However, I don't particularly care what a fitness shoe looks like as long as it does what it's supposed to do.

Ryka -
I only use this shoe for aerobics class. It is the only shoe that comes up high enough over the ankle to give support during the class. Therefore, I really don't care that it is not the most attractive shoe, it serves a purpose.

Satisfied!
I have tried these sneakers. They are pretty comfortable. Sometimes my toes get numb. They were pretty true to size. I usually wear a 7.5 or and 8. I ordered the 8 and they were fine. I debated about ordering the 8.5 as everyone said the run big; glad I didn’t they would have been too big.
I wear them to Jazzercise and love them. Take a chance. I did!

Great shoe for cardio -
Love this shoe. Although I purchased it a half size larger because of other customer reviews and found that it was too big. I would recommend buying your true size if you have medium or narrow feet. The toe box definitely runs on the wide side. I do a lot of cardio classes and this shoe has the best support, especially for side movement. Will definitely buy again.

Very Comfortable -
These are the lightest and most comfortable exercise shoe that I have purchased thus far. They run small so you do need to order a half size larger than you normally wear. Otherwise a very comfortable shoe.

Ryka N-Gage Mid Studio -
I love the look but was a little disappointed in the comfort of this shoe. Needs more heel and forefront cushioning for high impact step classes and more padding around the ankle. The Ryka N-Gage Insructor has all these but does not wear long and stretches out very quickly. This shoe is good for a cardio dance class due to the ankle support and is more light weight.

Ryka N-Gage is great!
It is a very comfortable shoe. I found that it ran a 1/2 size short. It is a nice looking shoe as well.

I really like Ryka shoes. I own another pair and will continue to buy them. Only problem is that the length is short. I wear a size 10 and had to get a size 11 (which is a little big) since it does not come in a 10.5. Overall, this shoe offers great arch support, the toe box is roomy and the price is very reasonable.

Good Shoe for Dance Aerobics!
This is a great shoe overall! The higher top isn't as high as the other studio shoes from Ryka, and it still gives the same support. The only thing that bothers me, is that I can't keep my balance as well in this pair of shoes. If I have to stand on one foot for a stretch or something, I find it harder to do than in previous Ryka's where I had no problems. Other than that, it has a good fit and good support.

Nice looking -
True to size, comfortable, good looking mid-rise shoe. Have to see if they hold up under the heavy wear and tear. Ryka's don't always last as long as some other brands-I am hoping this one is different.

I returned the pair of Ryka N-Gage Studio Mid because the tongue was defective; it would not lay flat on top of my foot and it kept bunching up. I have ordered several of these same shoes, or similar styles, in the past couple of years and have found that Ryka is inconsistent in sizing and quality. You might have to keep trying until you get a good pair. It also seems that every year Ryka cheapens the product and cuts corners. For example, they poorly redesigned the outer heel so that the rubber starts to peel away after a couple months. I kept my older Rykas, even though they are worn out, because they were made so much better. I have hard-to-fit feet and wear orthotics, so I don't have many choices and I keep going back to Ryka, hoping to get a decent pair. Fortunately, Zappos makes the return process very easy, so bless their hearts!

Overall Good Shoe -
Good shoe for the price. Does not have a lot of arch support but overall good. Comfortable, but a little wide.

Ryka ain't what it used to be -
For many years, Ryka was the only brand of athletic shoe I would buy. The fit was always perfect and the arch support was great. Now they run really short--I had to go up a whole size--and inside the shoe the arch area is completely flat. Had to return them. Zappos, though, is great! Super fast delivery, super easy returns.

Not So Good -
As an aerobics instructor I have been wearing Rykas for several years and I have to say, this is the WORST pair I have ever owned. They broke down quicker than previous pairs and they actually started coming apart shortly after I got them. I teach BOSU step twice a week and there is no stability in these shoes when on the BOSU, they feel sloppy and unsupportive. I also teach a High Impact cardio class once a week and within a couple of weeks of having these shoes it felt like I was working out in my bare feet! I have to say for the first time, Ryka has let me down.

OUCH!
I train on the Bosu. I found almost no lateral support with this shoe. After 40 minutes I was literally limping and couldn't wait to tear this shoe off.

My review -
I didn't like the fit on the ankle and they were at least a half size too small. My last pair Ryka shoes was better. If you are paying this much they should be perfect and they weren't close.

I bought this shoe based on online reviews that it was popular in step/studio classes. Unfortunately it felt awkward and heavy. I ended up giving it away to a friend by the end of the week. I would stay with New Balance for future cross-training shoes.

Not enough Cushion -
These do not have enough fore-foot and overall cushioning for me. I teach Jazzercise and find that over-all Rykas do not have the cushioning I am looking for in my work-out shoe.
