Great kid’s shoe - Perfect for my son that refuses to learn to tie a shoe. The Z-elastic flips up entirely too easily allow him to get his foot in and then velcros back into place at the side. Great rugged shoe that takes a lot of beating.

Great Shoe! My son loves these shoes! He still hasn't mastered tying his shoes and the "z" straps make getting them on and off super easy. They are true to size and hold up to whatever a seven year old can throw at them! He got the ones with the orange trim and they looked better online than in person- not bad but next time I'd get the black with red trim.

My grandson loved these! This was the first pair of Sketchers that were wide enough and easy to get on and off! Sketchers has the cutest shoes for girls, but they are always too narrow and the elastic inside makes it even harder to get on. I cut the elastic out of the last pair and now they fit - but you can tell they are still too narrow. But these were great because they 'opened' and he loves them! And I LOVE Zappos. I order my son's size 15 from there all the time. Bless you for keeping the best and most popular 'big' sizes.

My son loves these! My son is SO picky about his shoes. He often complains that the shoes I have bought "hurt his feet", even after going up sizes. But, upon trying on his new Skechers Damagers he stated, "I hope I never lose these shoes!" The fit is room, but the velcro allows you to tighten and adjust the fit. I will be buying more of these when he outgrows them. Thanks, Zappos, for the outstanding customer service!

Sketchers Kids's Damager - My 10 yo son is very happy w/ these. Nice sturdy shoe, seems true to size. Great for those that can't keep their shoelaces tied.

My son loves these shoes. He calls them his Star Wars shoes. They seem to be very durable, but we've only had them a couple of weeks. He has a high instep and the velcro fastener is a bit on the short side, but we haven't found any brand yet that accommodates this well (in a velcro shoe).

These are similar in styling and fit to Stride Rite.

Good school shoe... Son thinks they look cool. Good treads. Comfortable, but a little stiffer than I would like-son (6) says they are comfy though.

Not good - I bought these for my 8 year old nephew to wear to school. Maybe it's because of his age, but they just didn't stay on his foot well enough. He complained about them not being secure enough. The shoe simply has a velcro strap to go over the foot, but nothing to really keep the foot in. For example, I bought the Adidas Mud Racer II and those have an elastic strap to keep the foot in place. I also wonder about how long the velcro on these will hold up. Overall, I would not recommend if you have a really active or older child.

Skechers bad straps - The strap on this over-priced shoe twisted in the metal loop and makes it very hard to Velcro tightly in place. I tried to fix it, but it can't be done because the strap is worn and twisted. This happened after 2 wearings. My son is re-velcroing it constantly to get it to stay in place like the other shoe.
