Clarks Roar ankle boot - Great boot for corporate casual. Good comfortable fit for jobs that require being on your feet all day.

Good looking functional shoe/boot - Boot is sturdy enough for the job site, but good-looking enough to wear with khakis.

Clarks Roar - Great looking and fitting casual boot! They look casual rather than like a work boot--which is what I was looking for. I received a number of compliments about this boot. One person said they looked kind of nostalgic which I have to agree with him. Good arch support.

Great boot - half size larger is true for me too - This is a great boot in the brown Nubuck. I wish that it came in black Nubuck and I would buy another pair! I also found that once I sized "down" a half-size I had a perfect fit.

Nice boot. This boot looks good with jeans or cords. Thin leather is not insulated so don't expect any warmth. Not a dressy boot.

Great shoes - The shoes arrived within three days of placing my online order. They looked exactly like the picture on the website and they fit beautifully. I wear them all the time and couldn't be happier.

Clarks Roar - Fit well the first time I put them on. They provide plenty of support. They look good with jeans and Dockers but nothing dressier than that. They provide good traction. Strength of a boot but look of a shoe.

I bought all three - I liked these boots so much, I ended up buying all three colors. They are incredibly comfortable from the first wear. The sole is extremely durable and sturdy but very light. It doesn't feel like a heavy boot at all. They maintain their shape well and the colors/textures are true to the photos. How 'bout a dark chocolate suede?

Fabulous Boot - Being my first pair of "casual" boots I didn't know what to expect. After recently purchasing a pair of Clark's dress shoes I was sold on the brand. The boots simply reinforced my conviction. Relatively light, well cushioned, attractive, and versatile. I used Gempler's water proofer on them and have had great results. They even served me well on a recent, spur of the moment hike. I wear a 10 Regular, but due to stock issues I ended up with a 10 Wide and they still fit just fine, even allowing for heavier socks.

Solid boot - Great looking boots (suede) and only took one wear to break-in. I like the fact that the bottom sole is very flexible compared to most other boots which adds to the comfort. I normally wear size 10.5, but bought size 10 in this boot and it fits perfectly. I also picked up a suede brush and scotch guard type spray to waterproof.

GREAT BOOT - I am extremely picky about my shoes, looks as well as how they feel. It took a while, but I finally found a comfortable boot! I have worn these about twp weeks now and love them. Buy with confidence!

I like these shoes for the most part. 1. They look nice casual or dressy with a suit, even shorts if you dress like it can be pulled off. 2. I mean the shoes often get compliments from both genders. 3. They are lightweight. 4. The leather is soft. They damage easily. 5. Not a lot of arch or heel support. I inserted better insoles. Now they fit. 6. Inside there seems to be extra room top to bottom. Thicker socks helped fill in the dead space. 7. Good construction so far. 8. They don't stink. 9. Laces stay tightened. Laces are too long. 10. Good shoe for the price range for this style of shoe.

This shoe is a bit tight for my 4E feet but with the help of a shoe stretcher I've been able to alter the width more to my liking. The widest size available is 2E but I've had the brown color for about 3 years and it now fits quite well. I especially like the substantial leather uppers that keep this shoe in good form and the black works very well as a key item as part of a designer's attire - simple, basic, structurally substantial and weathers positively & expressively.

Very comfortable shoe, but as others have said, it is a bit long in the toe box.

Incredibly comfortable, simple (so many boots have detailing that I think make them look cheap and trashy, like zippers, stripes, etc.) and hopefully durable! More waterproof than I was expecting - this past week has been nasty in New York City, but I accidentally stepped into a couple of deep puddles without getting my toes wet at all! The do run a bit long, though.

Nice, comfortable shoe for the money. They are difficult to keep clean if that is concern for you. The fit is true. If you like the style, you will be happy with the shoe.

These are quite comfortable. I've had no problems with durability. They are nice looking Chukka-type boots with good traction. I would buy these again.

Good boot, great look - These boots are very comfortable, right out of the box. I spend my day between working in a hospital and going to school, which keeps me on my feet a lot. Not enough ankle support or cushion to be used as a work boot, but for a long, casual day on your feet they're just about perfect.

Looks good. Runs big. I'm always a 10. Tried 10, 9.5, and 9, and 9 wound up being a good fit.

These are not work boots - Make no mistake about it, Clarks Roars are not heavy duty work boots, or for that matter even good hiking boots. The soft soles of these boots are not built to handle any hard use for long. These are comfortable walking around shoes, that are fine for work (if you work in an office) or for walking around the mall, or for general city street use. I have a couple of pair of these shoes and I like them a lot for that, but I have another pair of Red Wing heavy duty work boots for when I go off road. These are out of the box comfortable boots that will serve you well if you don't try to use then on a construction site or back packing in the Sierra mountains.

Simple, Classic, Casual Style - A Throwback - So far it appears to be a well made shoe. The brown color has a slightly antiqued finish which I like. Rugged good looks. I usually don't care for 2 and 3 lace shoes and boots, but the laces work fine.

Very good, but not great - I got these to have a pair of walking-about-town, suitable-for-work, COMFORTABLE, slip-resistant and hopefully water-and-snow resistant boots. They are most of that. Pretty light, and so far, no slipping. Not as comfortable as I'd like - leather is a bit stiff, cut is a bit low - just at the ankle. And what's with those string-like laces? The manufacturing quality is a bit less than it should be - each day, my socks have been dyed red by the excess color from the interior. But they are FAR better feeling than anything similar I've worn in the last year or so.

A pleasure doing business with Zappos - The Clark Roar runs a little large. I order a size 11 which I normally wear. It was a little big. I returned them with no problem and reordered a 10.5 which fit right. I love the shoes. I have a very odd shaped foot. Wide and high instep which makes it hard to find a shoe that comfortable. The break in time not as short as others have stated, but not that bad.

Great boot - would recommend - Very comfortable boot if you do a lot of standing or walking. Soft high quality leather upper. Tread is good, but would probably not last long if you do any kind of outdoor labor. This is not a work boot - it is not waterproof and not insulated. It is a casual boot that goes well with khakis or jeans. The laces that come with the boot are not very strong and slip during the day making the top of the boot feel loose. Replaced them with laces I liked better and they are great.
