The shoes they were replacing were Bill Fish that lasted over ten years. Outstanding quality they were 10 1/2 wide .The new ones I received At first glance the leather was much thinner all around the size was also a 10 1/2 wide I have worn them a few times and they are very narrow and tight. I was hoping that they would stretch out but hasn't happened as of yet. I suppose I should have ordered the x wide who knew. Overall the quality has sure gone down over the years very disappointed

This an attractive shoe for someone with high arches. For people with low to no arch, they are extremely uncomfortable.

Very disappointed with what would have been my 4th pair of Billfish. Not sure why you had to change a good thing, but the arch of the shoe is terrible. Seems like it is narrower and now your arch comes down on the hard rubber banding of the sole so that it feels like I'm standing on a sharp rock. And the leather around back of heel barely supports itself making the shoe difficult to slip on. Please go back to previous design!

I was disappointed by poor fit: narrow between heel and toe, with far too much arch support. I've bought a pair of Sperry every year, more or less, for two decades now and have never encountered this problem before. They usually fit perfectly. (I've also bought Merrills and other brands for hiking recently and have not encountered this problem.)

These are the most uncomfortable Sperrys I have ever owned. I don't typically wear a wide shoe, but perhaps that would help. I soaked them in water to try and soften them up so they are not not returnable. The sole is rigid and jabs into the bottom/outside of my foot.

The instep was too low: I unlaced it and still couldn't even get it on my foot.

This show is very narrow and the arch support squeezes the left inside arch of the foot. It feels like a plate pressing the the side of the arch. This shoe feels stiff and very uncomfortable.

I have been a customer of Sperry for over 50 years. About 10 years ago, I had a pair of Billfisher shoes. They were great. I recently bought a 2nd pair of Billfisher shoes. They were the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. I threw them away. I will never buy another pair of Sperry shoes. All you get is the name. Quality control does not exist, especially since Sperry stopped making the shoes in the USA and instead chose profit over quality by having its shoes made in third world countries. Terrible shoes!!

We love Sperry; however, these shoes do not fit my husbands feet well. They are very narrow and have a very sharp arch support. He brought them on a recent business trip and could not wear them and had to buy shoes while he was out of town. I bought them one month ago and am hoping that Sperry will take them back for a credit toward a style that is better suited for him.

I have been wearing these shoes for approximately twenty years but I find that the quality of material and the fit and comfort has been declining with every new pair I purchase. This will be my last pair. Goodbye Sperry

The shoes have a high arch and I'm flat footed so I had to exchange them for a different pair. The ones I exchanged them for didn't come in the color that I wanted but at least I can wear them.

When I ordered the shoes (as pictured) it was because it did not show the laces having to be tied. I had a similar shoe with the laces looped through the sides and that way they would not come undone. The shoes fit fine, and they are comfortable. Too bad the photo did match the reality!

Wolverine has left Sperry with the feeling of just another imported shoe. The 3 eye Billfish is the only one I would buy. The Gold Cup are uncomfortable and hard to size. Do not waste your money.

My son is active in the LBGT community and I thought he might like the shoes. I was wrong and he sent them back. He told me that he thought it was an item that a non-LBGT would buy for an LBGT member. I thought you might want to know.

I received the shoes, but didn't open the box until today. I found they have a very solid arch support, but I'm flat footed so they won't work for me. I'd like to return them.

The padded tongue makes these shoes miserable. If you try to wear these as loafers, they're way too loose, the tongue doesn't make good contact with the top of your foot. I always have to lace them up tighter to keep them from slipping off, then you can't slip them on and the pressure from the padded tongue gets uncomfortable. They've got to be worn with socks as lace ups.

I’ll be returning this item. It was supposed to be EE width. The pair revived was only wide.

I've had at least 4 pair of these shoes over the last decade or so. They used to be super comfortable, loved the insoles, they've always looked great, and I knew what to expect from them. The quality of the insole went down years ago. But now the contouring of the outsole has also taken a hit. Instead of flaring the top edge of the outsole to contour to the arch and basic shape of the footbed, it's now just formed vertical which ends up digging into the arches of my feet and making the arch portion of the shoe too narrow. I'm now sending back my second new pair of these shoes because the outsole edges dig into my arches through the side of the shoe. Also, both pair I received had insole issues under the heel of one foot (right foot on first pair, left foot on second pair). So now that I've established that the width issue wasn't just a fluke bad pair, I have to say goodbye to the Billfish. (No use getting a wider shoe, the toe box is fine and the vamp fits just right.) It was a good run while it lasted. I hate to see Sperry's manufacturing standards take such a nose dive. I've never put on a pair of shoes with such an awkward fit.

I returned the shoes for a refund. The arch supports were extremely difficult to walk with and became painful.

Arch support is too aggressive and pronounced. They are the right size but should have better cushioning. Very uncomfortable.

Since you changed manufacturers the shoes are terrible. Bad fit and cheap looking. Go back to your original manufacturer and charge more if that's what it takes.
