Loved this product, but fitting is non-standard and they arrived a 1/2 size too big. Tried to cancel my order, and it is only AFTER you place the order, do they tell you changes to the order are not allowed. It would have been MUCH MORE HELPFUL to know this at the time of ordering. Return process is a nightmare, as I was shipping these to my college freshman.

I wear a 3E. The XW is at best an E. The length of the shoe is standard for the size 10.5 that I ordered. I really wanted to keep these shoes because they look great.

I ordered the 9.5 XW size but it was much too narrow. I expected a width similar to EE but the shoe was closer to a medium width (4 inches) . Standard EE is 4.3 inches wide. I suppose the shoe was really a medium and mislabeled as a XW. I wish Sperry would use standard measurement units D,E, EE, etc.

Great looking and comfortable shoes, but shoddy in construction. The last three pair I had, the insoles ripped out after the first few times they were worn. My last pair purchased is defective -- the sewing machine operator missed the mark while sewing the tongue, which was left hanging by a few threads. Basically, these are one season shoes that need replacing each spring. But they look great, feel great, and the three hole lacing makes for a secure fit. Just wish he manufacturer cared enough to make them properly.

I found the shoe to be comfortable, but fell apart on me within the week. I'm sending it back now to be replaced. :/

I have been wearing Sperry Top-Siders for 40+ years. Seems as if Sperry has cut back on materials and quality; the leather is thinner, the shoes are made from more pieces sewn together, allowing more water penetration and places for failure. Overall it is still a decent shoe, though the quality has diminished over the years. Sperry is not alone in this practice; I just wish that they would hold to their standards of quality as in years past.

Purchased for my son. He ordered a 1/2 size smaller than his normal size because he had tried on Sperry before and knew they ran big for him but the 1/2 size smaller was still too big.

I have worn both the 2-Eye and these and I definitely recommend getting the 2-Eye. I've been wearing the 2-Eyes for roughly 2 months longer than these, and these are already deteriorating and they are much less uncomfortable. Don't waste your money on these :)

Probably was close to the correct width. Too bad it didn't come in a EE width.

Asymmetry between left and right shoe. I exchanged for a different pair (in different size even) but they had the same issue. Feels as if the left and right shoes were made in different factories. Really odd. Never experienced this in a pair of shoes before.

My son loved the shoe...he loved the color and the style. They hurt his feet terribly. Within 3 days he began to complain about pain in his instep. I wish I knew what to do.

Fit is narrow, I had a pair before that were great. I am hoping that it will be better when it's broken in.

Bought the Billfish a few weeks ago because I liked one color options. The size is right but the width runs much more narrow than advertised. Their "D" is much closer to a "C" or "B" width. Rather than go the hassle of returning them, I made the mistake that shoe trees and wearing them would help relax the leather. Bottom line: Even if you have narrow feet, get the wide size and after 3 pairs of different Sperry shoes, I'm done with the brand. There are better quality boat shoes on the market.

I could feel every seam inside the shoe. I've owned lots of Sperrys and the quality just doesn't compare to the older ones.

these were x wide 10.5 . they look nicely made but... I generally wear x wide 10.5 keene shoes. i need the x wide in the toe area not around the arch. These sperry shoes were a good bit longer than my big toe and still felt i needed more toe space. And these felt barely snug around my arch when new and when laced up tight. These are sure to stretch out after being wet and worn a few times. I feel that getting next size smaller will just cramp my toes more.
I'd also recommend:
keene

Have worn Sherry for 40 years, but my recent pair in 10-W Billfisher is much more narrow than my others. Even the sole is more narrow. Should have returned them.

I purchased these for my son for school and his shoes are already showing major signs of wear after only three weeks. The laces are also completely frayed.
