Minus 1 star for the pad in the heel. I have incredibly bad feet and the newer style shock absorbing heel does not work as well for me as the older billfish. The older ones had a very conformal heel that distributed pressure well. The new shock absorbing insole has a lump under the heel that actually creates a pressure area instead of conforming to the heel. These are still my favorite shoes, and still better than any other brand of shoe, but I still wear billfish that are several years old when I need maximum comfort. I hope Sperry goes back to the conformal insole and and gets away from this gimmick.

I wore these shoes for almost every single day between the end of 2010 to beginning of 2012. Let me tell you I would have worn them forever had the soles not worn out. And that's the sign of a good shoe. I'm a college student. I live in an area of Florida where it's rainy all the time and with these shoes I had no problem walking between classes in the pouring rain, through the mud, through the grass, etc. The shoes, at least when I bought them, were built to last. The stitching never gave out and the leather never tore. However, probably because I wore them so much, the inside soles began to unravel, revealing the rough materials underneath and eventually my feet were rubbing against that. That's probably because I put them through so much use however. In contrast my dad, seeing that my sperries had worn out, gave me some new, "durable", "good quality shoes." They appear to have been made of leather upper but they weren't boat shoes or anything, more like hiking shoes. the soles ripped right out of those things while I was playing kickball with some coworkers. I guess I was expecting them to be as tough as the billfish.

Loved the look and fit of this shoe. However, the interior, upper seams located on the on the outer edge of both feet (close to small toe area) cause rubbing discomfort. Have worn them several times but does not appear to be getting any better. For relief, I have to place bandaids on each area. This is the major disappointment as my foot is narrow anyway and I don't feel it should have been a problem with a non-narrow size.

The shoes arrived as scheduled, fit to size, and met my (very high, based on prior experience) expectations. Somewhat pricey -- should have but could not wait for a sale.

I buy a new pair of Sperry boat shoes every year and relegate the old pair to boat work shoes. For the past two years I purchased the Billfish and both pair blew out the mesh on the outside edge. This makes them quite uncomfortable, and unsuitable as work shoes. This year I purchased the Sea Kite (314399118) in the hopes that the leather band in the middle of the mesh will preclude this problem. I'll let you know next year.

Used for years and have always enjoyed them -- on and off the boat

Great shoe that sperry Billfish. Great style and they almost go with anything. Great for boating, or just simply laying around. My only concern is that the shoe runs a little big, with the leather stretching and all. Also you really need to buy leather care gel with these shoes as they will get unsightly stretch marks eventually. Overall these shoes are the best in boating and I would buy another pair any day. I decided to try a pair of the boat shoes - very comfortable right out of the box, wear them around the house and for non-formal outings.

I consider these the uglier, yet more comfortable version of the Sperry Authentic Original. I recommend owning both. If you're going somewhere you need to walk more, wear these. While the Authentic Originals have next to no sole, these are quite the opposite and are very cushy. The interior of mine, like the Authentic Original, peels and wears out.

I know that these shoes will stretch, but they were too tight for my son who normally wears a size 12 - 12 1/2 in everything else. He just couldn't wear them to stretch them out. Easy return policy- just wish we didn't have to pay for return shipping as expensive as these shoes are.

The purchase of my third pair of men's Sperry Billfish boat shoes was the easiest. Since my online experience with the purchase was made simple due to the limited product availabilty at retail I will continue to shop online. Free shippping is also a major positive in my purchase. The boat shoe is top quality,fits perfectly and is also stylish. The only negative is the interior padding that deteriorates due to being wet for a good amount of time. I spend 6 months of the year boating so they do get a workout.

Nice footwear! Just as I always expect from your products. Being my seventh pair in as many years, I have found the length to be a tad bit longer, but they seem to always fit better after a through washing! Thanks and Toodellew FWD

The shoes are quite comfortable and are, at least so far, very durable. My only warning is that these run a bit big as far as length goes. I have ordered a 10 in several different sperry sizes, and they have all been different in length and width. I ordered a 10W and the width for the shoe is perfect. It's great that these come in W, because from my experience Sperry's can have a tendency to be on the narrow side.
