I have the other version of this boot - worn for the past few years. It was comfortable from day one and only got better over time.
These boots felt stiff and narrow. I don't want to take a chance on breaking them in. I love Ariats and have several styles. The Western Heritage is my go to riding boot. Luckily my old ones are still going strong.

Long story short: Remote Colorado trail horse ride that turned into a lot of unexpected hiking, scrambling, bouldering, creek crossings, climbing and descending through a washed out, log filled forest fire area with very uneven terrain. These boots held up great and were very comfortable even though they were only a few months old and not fully broken in. I wouldn't intentionally wear them instead of trail shoes on an 8 mile, 2,000 plus foot ascent and descent but it's great to know my feet will be just fine if that happens. The softer tops of the boots really helped with the comfort then and now with general ranch wear. Definitely go a half size smaller.

Got a pair for my 26th birthday here I am at 33 just now having to replace them. Worn daily for work on a farm. By far the best boots I've ever owned.

received these 3 days ago. bought the hombre red. It is more of a brown with a little red hue. toe is very tight. i always by a "B" width in my Ariat boots but find these almost too tight to wear.. Would not recommend if you have a slightly wide foot. narrower than most "B". I may have to return

These are great endurance riding and every day wear shoes. I have horrid feet and been wearing 8.5 M terrain in other colors since '92 but have worn the black for a very long time now. I worn hard orthotics since '82 and nsg school. I have to take out the insert. These are the only shoes I have NEVER walked over the soles. (Clarks were only a month before I walked them over, but those were for office work. ). I love these shoes and I have been bugging Ariat CS ever since they came out with their first wides asking for black. . Wide black have been in the "process" for decades now. The only dressy color and they can't make it wide. I have no idea what their problem is! Lots of reviewers complain at the lack of wide. I do not like distressed leather but they all seem to be that. Every little mark shows. I've had them before.
So now I am going to the H2O terrain in Copper in a 9 wide. It seems the darkest. My toes need more room. I pray this solves the squished toe problem. These last about 2 years before the sole tread srarts to go in the ball of the foot and heel. They really can last 3 before there are smooth spots on the soles. Heel starts first. I have not tried other brands because they do not promote a steel shank nor stability.

Great boot except for color. They are very comfortable, but are not really black, rather a weird shade of blue.
"Distressing" looks a bit like mildew.

In September of 2018, I ordered these boots. It hasn't even been 6 months and they're falling apart. The toes are peeling, the sole is coming off, and the water resistance has not been affective since the first month I bought them. I don't wear them everyday, maybe 2-3 times a week. Very disappointed in the quality of these boots for the price I paid. I expected a much higher quality as I have always chosen Ariat when purchasing tall boots for English riding.

I am on my forth pair and not because they wore out. I'll admit, they are not puppy proof, but really what is? I work in the agricultural fields of California, but I take these everywhere with me. Snow, mud, dirt, tilled field, untilled fields, the sand dune, boating, mountains, and the beach. Each pair has seen its fair share of elements and miles walked and they are still holding up. I love this collection for its fun colors, comfort, and reliability. They are still a great fit and I have had one of my pairs for four years now.

I've owned these for few years and the boots are still in excellent shape all around except for the pink lining which is peeling, flaking and making a general mess every time I remove my boot. I have another pair of Fatbabys that also have a colored lining and it is sealed and flat like the day I bought them. Maybe I just got a defective pair? These boots are the most comfortable shoes I own but I only wear them around the house and for outside work now because of the mess.

I've had my boots for a little over a year and I wear them fairly often. They still look as good as they did when I first took them out the box. At first I wasn't too sure about getting boots with the soft sides, but they make all the difference. These boots move with you much better than a pair of boots that have stiff sides. They are a good weight, not too heavy, and still light enough to move around easily. There isn't anything about these boots that I would change.

Recently bought these at Boot Barn. Tried the Midtown Rambler, but it was too tight at the top of the tongue. So exchanged these for the Terrain H2O. Very well built!

Ordered these boots in cooper, received distressed brown. Called Ariat & notified them the colors were mixed up on the order page. If you order cooper you will receive distressed brown. Ariat has still not corrected this problem

Bought for my daughter. She has a small foot they do run a bit on the small size. She typical wears a 5, we had to exchange for a 6. The leather is soft and style is perfect for my cowgirl!

I bought these boots in 2014 when i got out of the Army and became a commercial diver. They are my favorite and most comfortable boots I've ever worn and they are extremely durable. i'm still wearing the same pair. I love these boots so much i even bought a brand new pair to go right into once I finally (if ever) replace the initial pair I've been wearing. You won't be disappointed. They look great, feel great and are all around excellent.

I've always loved my Ariat paddock boots so when I switched disciplines I figured I would get some ariats again. These are the most uncomfortable pair of foot wear I've ever bought. No they were not to big or to small I bought them in person. I thought they would break in then I started doing some research about artists western boots and I bought a pair of Justins boots and they have held up and they were comfortable they first time I put them on. That's the only brand I'll wear now.

I bought a pair of these about a month ago. I was looking for a leather boot that I could wear all day. I work as a bus driver for special needs kids, driving, loading wheel chairs and, walking out in the elements. I needed to be comfortable. No break in time! Great Boots!

My 9 yr old daughter received these boots for her birthday. She has a borderline wide as well as a tall foot so we ordered the 7 wide. (Our family has big feet :) ) The boots are true to size and very comfortable. These are her first pair of boots and she wore them to school the first day and said the were very comfortable even after all day. They held up nicely to the abuse of the playground too and have that lovely leather smell. The boots are truly beautiful. Many reviews I read for other boots had complaints about how people couldn't get their foot into the boot. Well I tried my size 9 foot in my daughters 7W boot just to see and while its obviously way too small I could get my foot in without too much difficulty. I don't think anyone would have trouble getting these boots on. Give them a try. We really like them.

Love the style and they fit well but there is a seam inside the boot that rubs badly. Back they go.

A little snug, but wearing will stretch them. I'm getting a boot puller and side hooks; my fingers won't fit in the side tabs. Thrilled with the price, the same boots on another site are almost 200$. These I'm keeping.

I bought 2, Earth and Wicker, in 12EE. Wicker is slightly larger but it is manageable. Earth took a little longer to break in. Overall satisfied. I would buy black if I could find it.

This is my third pair of Ariats. The last two were the All Terrains. I really liked the style and fit, but the laces were a pain. I'm 52 now, and 40 years ago my first pair of western boots were a pair of Acme's. I loved them and miss them. I have been back and forth about going back to the All Terrains or just go for the Fatties. I made a great choice! 40 years later, I became a BMW (Big Maine Woman) and was afraid that my calves wouldn't fit comfortably in the boots. I have plenty of room and can even tuck my pants in! Highly recommend these. I love the turquoise/teal contrast. I am an Ovarian cancer survivor and always like to sport a little color for awareness. Love the boots and if you are a BMW, you will too!
