Be careful! If you are a woman with normal to larger calves, order the huntress. They are made for women. These originals are unisex so the shaft is higher and the calves are more narrow than the huntress. Otherwise, they are hunter boots... awesome.

I've had a pair of these wellies in black for a year now, and oh dang, they are stylin'. You could wade through a puddle a foot deep in these babies, too. I got the boot in the original finish, and they do develop the whitish waxy patina you may have read complaints about in other reviews. I happen to like that look, but if you don't, then maybe try a pair with the glossy finish. About sizing too: I am quite tall and fairly thin, and got the boot in size 6 even though I wear 6.5-7 in other shoes. If I liked wearing super thick socks or was a little heavier in the calves, I would have had to size up. For walking around town the boots are definitely comfortable enough, but I tried wearing them to work (I'm a barista/line cook) and they killed my feet by the end of a 6-hour shift. I like to wear them with tights and shorts or dresses.

I was originally very pleased with these boots. Very comfortable, excellent fit, roomy enough in the calf to tuck jeans in. However, within 8 months of purchase, both buckles had broken, and the insoles in the heel were completely worn through. The seam over the right big toe had split, and the crease over the top of the foot on the left boot, where it bends when you walk, cracked. I'm hard on boots, and wear them daily working with animals on the farm, but for the price I expect a cheap pair of cheap wellies would have lasted just as long. Very disappointed in the durability and quality of materials.

I love these boots. The build quality is wonderful. They do develop a "bloom" or white film after wearing them. I've been using Armor All to restore the luster and color.

These boots are the best rain boots out there. I know they may seem really expensive; however, they are definitely worth it. I've gone through a couple pairs of rain boots while being in college and it's safe to say that these boots are a good investment. They are comfortable, durable, and high enough so that rain doesn't get in between your jeans and the boot itself. They run true to size and are not too narrow, an issue I had with a previous pair of rain boots. They look and fit great with leggings, skinny jeans, and you could also wear them with shorts, but I would suggest wearing high socks underneath so that they're not pressed right up against your skin. Everyone should have this rain boot!

I purchased a pair of the original Hunter boots in 2008. These were a great purchase for me because that was the year I moved to Seattle. I did not really wear them a ton, but in total probably a couple weeks a year? Maybe two to three weeks a year. Unfortunately after four years of owning them the buckle flap snapped off this week. I have never touched the buckle or altered it in any way. I only wear these to the dog park on muddy days, so my wear and tear is pretty general. I had planned to order another pair of these this fall, but now I will not bother. These are touted as being durable great boots, but I do not plan to repurchase. With such moderate usage these shouldn't be falling apart. I have babied these boots, cleaned them regularly, there is no reason these should have fallen apart at such an expensive price. I loved these, but then they broke and now there is a jangling buckle hanging off the side of the boot.

Love my Wellies! Buy a full size less than what you're used to wearing. I always wear a 10US, and the 9US Hunters fit me perfectly. (Even if you are planning on wearing the boots with Hunter socks, still downsize.) The boots are well made and are comfortable.

These are the best wellies I have ever seen! They are nothing like the cheaper ones found in local stores. They were a Christmas gift for my daughter who lived in Northern Ireland on a dairy farm. She knows what real wellies are, and she loved these!

I recently ordered the dark olive wellies in the 9 because I wear an 8.5-9 in most shoes/boots. Had to send them back because they were too loose in the ankle area & I could feel my heel rubbing. The return process was a breeze & it didn't take long at all to credit my account & order my new size. The 8's are a perfect fit even with the Hunter fleece socks which are great! Love these boots!

The Hunter - the perfect rain boot! After many miserable and wet spring days, I have finally purchased the perfect boot! I was looking for something preppy, classy (as classy as these get), and timeless. If I must wear rain boots on my morning commute, then I should look good while I'm at it! (If these boots are okay for the British and Helen Mirren in "The Queen", they are fine for me, too!) These boots keep my feet super dry and are actually really comfortable. All Hunter boots are hand made and you can tell the quality is really excellent. The $100 price tag seemed steep for rain boots, but I will have these forever. Plus the sole is great and prevents any slipping or sliding on wet sidewalks. They pair wonderfully with a cute short skirt for wet weekends. The sizes are unisex, so I bought my typical women's size 9. Since they only come in whole sizes, I was worried the 8 would be too small. The 9 feels slightly large, but nothing a thick pair of socks can't fix. Overall these boots are great and I would highly recommend them!

Rugged traditional "wellie" - avoid storing in the sun and they will last up to 15 years. I have hunted in them and gardened in them. Wear heavy socks or liners to avoid getting sweaty feet.

I love my Hunters. I found dealing with Zappos to be one of my best online shopping experiences! My boots arrived almost overnight, I then ordered a smaller size, but my husband has already recycled the box the boots came in - customer service was knowledgeable, helpful and I got the idea that nothing was impossible. New boots arrived and I'm totally pleased with my boots and with shopping at Zappos.

I love these boots. Have been wanting a pair for a few years but didn't want to pay the high price. Finally bit the bullet and bought them and I am so happy I did! The only thing I would warn you of is they run big, I normally wear at 6 1/2 or 7 in shoes, I got the 7 first but it was big, so I returned it for the 6 and it's a perfect fit!

I normally wear an 9, but after reading the reviews I ended up ordering these in an 8. They just felt a little to snug and no room if I wanted to wear really thick socks. I emailed Zappos' customer service because I had lost my invoice, and magically a bigger size was on its way. I got the size 9 before I could even send the old pair back. And the 9 feels so much better, nice and roomy.

I love them, they are perfect for wading in the water to fish.

I am absolutely in love with my Hunter rain boots. They are extremely durable. I normally wear a size 9, 9 1/2, or 10 shoe depending on how it is made. I originally purchased the boot in size 9 but it was too tight so I had to exchange it for a size 10. It fits much better but a 9 1/2 would have been ideal. It would be really helpful to have half sizes. In spite of this I love the boots and would highly recommend them!

Love my Hunters! On top of being very practical, they look fantastic - strangely sexy, and not at all fisherman-ly. I'm a photographer, and I often shoot outdoors. I never know what I'll be stomping around on or what crap I'll be standing in to get my shot. Even in the middle of summer in Los Angeles, I'll wear my Hunters on a shoot, because they're so comfy and keep my feet clean and dry. I now want to buy the black gloss!

Way cute. Pretty comfortable. Very narrow shaft. I can't wear jeans tucked in unless they are my very skinniest of jeans. They are nicely padded in the soles (better than most rain boots anyway) and the interior lining is nice. Buy a bigger size if you plan to wear warm socks (do plan to wear warm socks if you are wearing them in snow).

I bought this shoes here online. I read good reviews about it, unfortunately, this shoe is not for me. I have small feet, I ordered 5, it still feels bigger. No arch support, hard to walk comfortably with the shoes. I can't tuck my jeans into it or it'll feel very uncomfortable. I was so excited to get this shoes, now I have to return it!

Best boot ever! Gorgeous and functional. However, between women's size 7 and 8, the height of the boot increases. So if you need size 8 or greater and are petite (5'3") or below, this style may be too tall and will hit your knee uncomfortably when sitting or climbing stairs. They fit my 5'9" daughter beautifully. But tiny gals can still buy the short version!

I love them! I love the color and the fit! I wear a 9.5 and bought a half size down, 9, and they fit perfect! They get the job done and I get tons of compliments on them! Now I can't wait for it to always rain!

Love these boots. They are nice and high on my leg and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend these. They do run big so I had to order a size down from the usual size I wear.

I agree with other reviewers that say these run a little large. I'm either a 9.5 or 10 in most shoes, but I went with a 9 in these. I have narrow calves, so these are great for me, but I can see how someone with large calves might find these a little tight.

Love them, super comfortable, buy seize 9 but had to return it and reorder in seize 8, besides that, they are great
