The boots feel great. Need to return though because one of the grommets where the leather straps over the fur arrived damaged.

This is a very comfortable, well made, warm boot and I love the style. However, I felt that the toe box was just a tad short (even with a thin sock)! If they were only a tiny bit bigger, I wouldn’t be sending them back. I wish these could break in, but given the fact that these are reinforced rubber soles, I do not want to risk the ever so slight cramped toe room. I normally wear a size 9 and I have read that these run a bit large, which was not the case for me at all. They seem wide enough, although I have a narrow foot- but just weren’t long enough for my comfort. I will consider ordering a half size up. ****The 4 stars for comfort was only to signify the fact that they felt a tiny bit small in the toe box, otherwise these seem very comfortable overall.

I normally wear a size 8 but after reading the reviews that some said to go up a half or whole size and others said to go down I was apprehensive on what size to get and went with the 8. They were a perfect fit. I have a little “wiggle room” with moderate thick wool sox. Putting them on and taking off is no problem at all. I have them loosely tied so I don’t have to untie them to do either. Wanted a high, but not too high, waterproof functional boot for slushy snow and these are exactly what I needed.

Disappointed. Have a pair of Sorrels size 10. Ordered these in a 10.5 and couldn’t get my foot in them.

Very cute and true to size. They were not difficult to put on (loosen the laces), were slightly heavy, not uncomfortable to walk in. 5 stars.

Bought these boots for our harsh Chicago winters. Love the look and kept my feet warm. Ordered a size 10, after reading reviews I was on the fence between a 9.5 and 10. I could have went with a 9.5 but since I wear them with thicker socks it’s not too bad. Overall they kept my feet warm. Comfort once broken in is not bad, they are a bit stiff in the ankles upon wearing them. They are a bit clunky but you should expect that when buying a true snow boot.

Bought these because they look more stylish than my Kamik's and for sure they are. But... sadly they really aren't comfortable. They lace up rather than with a bungee, which for me is a negative. The footbed is contiguous with the liner and the fur. (My old boots had a removable liner that I swapped with an Ugg shearling insole making it super comfy, but these Sorel boots can't allow for that without making the boot feel too small.) Also, there is no way I could wear them barefoot. Just 10 minutes trying them on and I was already getting a blister from the suede of the tongue area bunching together, and even with a sock on it was still noticeable. I'm not ready to sacrifice this much comfort for the style. Returning.

These are a true Godsend. The reviews from some of our coldest states were especially helpful in gauging how they would perform in the DC are, so thank you to everyone who sent those! Some things to know about these boots: they feel small if you wear regular socks because your foot slides up to the toe, and your toes will get cold. I tried thick wool socks and solved both issues. The width category is limiting. They are a little wide (to allow for thick socks), but not “wide width”. They are not completely flat inside so they have more than zero arch support, but I would not say moderate (a smidge less). I feel less awkward walking in these than MANY other weather boots I’ve tried, which is helpful. I feel like a Great Dane puppy if I’m not in heels. Added bonus is they do look cute. I did not care about that when I got these, so it was a really pleasant surprise. Happy shopping!

Liked style. Fit fine for 8 1/2. Returned though because decided to high and concerned that if I walked long time would rub on shin.

wish I'd bought them earlier! I could do without the fur, though happy that it's faux. boot is not too heavy, comfortable, warm, and look great ;) only 2 problems- a bit hard to get them on still, ? need more give at the arch/ankle? and- the snap pulled off the tab on the outside of one. probably related to the 1st problem and pulling them on. guess I'll just keep them on.

On Monday, the blizzard began. I walked out to my car in my ankle high North Face boots through a foot of snow in my driveway and said, “Oh, HECK no. I’m ordering new boots tonight!” The boots arrived Wednesday (today). Blizzard still going strong - actually, it’s officially being called a “Polar Vortex” now. Wind chill of -40 degrees. Since my new boots arrived, I had no excuse not to shovel my driveway. I laced up and got to work. 20 minutes later and my driveway still looks rough, but my feet are WARM. I can’t believe it! These boots were a bit hard to get on and off though, and the heel feels very loose. Overall, I’m not happy to live in a place where I NEED a boot that can withstand Arctic-like temperatures and mounds of snow, but having these boots makes me feel a little better about it!

I love these boots! So so so warm and great when the conditions are slippery out. They are so stylish which is always a plus :)

SO cute and wanted to love these, but where the top of the boot hit my calf made it very uncomfortable to walk in. Also, the "fur" shedded on my black leggings just trying them on. Sadly, they're going back.

I bought my Joan of Arctic boots in December 2009, while living in Syracuse. From 2009-2012, I wore these boots very regularly in the winter. Fast forward to 2019, I still live in a snowy region of upstate NY and can honestly say, they are as amazing today as they were the day I received them. These boots are a MUST if you live in a snowy area. They are a bit heavy, but they keep your feet warm and are extremely waterproof. They are durable and can withstand extreme winter weather for years. They run a little large and wide, so I recommend sizing down 1/2 a size. Definitely the best shoe purchase I’ve ever made!

Amazing! Can’t believe I waited so long to purchase these. I didn’t experience difficulty getting the boot on as some reviews suggested. These are perfect even in the Chicago cold!

Very comfortable. Returned for 1/2 size bigger ..normally 8 1/2-- 9 fit perfect with socks. So cute! Wearing on my ski trip. Live in snowy northern mi ---- great boot. Sorel always worth the $$$

I wanted to love these. Perfect toe box but the heel is way too loose for me.
