These boots are warm and good for walking in unshoveled snow in terms of grips, BUT they add what feels like 5-8 lbs PER SHOE making walking anywhere a slow process. These boots are 2.5-3 times the width of my feet so I often end up hitting/kicking the shoes together when walking, which makes walking around in them that much more difficult. I honestly wish I returned them and got lighter/more manageable boots for walking around the city in the winter. I also have to wear very thick socks so I'm sliding around on the insides of the shoes. They run quite big in sizes.

I recently just bought these boots for myself. I typically wear a size 9.5-10 in normal everyday shoes (mainly Nike) so I thought I would also order these boots in a 9.5, since it's ratings were "True to size". Needless to say, these boots are not true to size. I tried them on once they arrived and they were at least whole size bigger. I was kind of bummed out because the next day it snowed and I wanted to wear these boots but I couldn't since I was returning these for a 8.5 size. The boot itself was great and a boot that will live up to its word but just too small. Now, patiently waiting for my new size boots to arrive!!

I am so disappointed with these boots. They protect against cold weather and snow, but they are way too big and way too bulky. I hate wearing them because it feels like my feet are going to slide right out of them. I would have exchanged them if I knew return was within 60 days. They are huge and very uncomfortable.

I had these boots for two winter seasons and cracks developed in the rubber causing it to open up. For price, these boots should last longer. While they lasted they were great, just expected more than two winter seasons of wear out of them.

I used to be a tremendous fan of Sorel, particularly the formerly tried and true Caribou. All through the 80s and 90s these were fantastic. But now, the rubber they use is garbage. It cracks in the first 6 weeks! I've gone through two pair in two seasons. The soles aren't even warn, but the sides have pulled away from the Uppers and the flex points (where your toes hit your foot, where they bend in each step) simply crack open! Terrible. The uppers are still great, the design is great, the self cleaning soles work beautifully, the liners are fine, but the Rubber is horrid. Surly they still know what their original recipe for rubber was... why not go back to that? How simple would that be? But for what ever reason, they are allowing their flag ship boot to become worthless. Buy something else.

I really wanted these boots to last the rest of my life, really! I wanted to be one of the people that you see at the mountain, at the bar, in the yard, at the post office wearing my beloved Sorels. However, I hardly even used these at all until they started leaking. I began using them to slip on and off to feed my dogs outside, and before I knew it, they leaked. They leak in the rain, in the snow, everywhere! I wish my feet would stay dry, I love the look!

I'm not sure if the size was marked wrong, but I ordered a women's 8 and they are GIGANTIC! They seem like a men's 8 but the receipt and box say women's. They are great quality and seem warm and durable, however, I will be exchanging them for a sleeker, less heavy boot and hopefully it will be true to size.

The quality and construction of this boot is great. However, this boot is enormous! It is quite wide and runs long. I also have the Tofino have boot so ordered the same size. I could easily have ordered a half to a whole size smaller. Be warned this is also a very clunky, heavy boot, not one you would want to wear for hours on end. Unfortunately, I will return this boot.

Ordered 2 pairs in two different sizes that I usually wear. But they both ran too large and I had to return.

Before ordering we checked the fit and it said the fit was true to size; however, when we received our order it was obvious the fit was going to be to large and sure enough when trying them on they were way to big and now I have to pay to ship them back and then we have to wait again for the new order.

After looking at reviews of everyone saying these boots are too large and chunky, I thought I'd give them a try because I live in Wisconsin and need a heavy snow boot for walking to classes. After trying these boots on, I looked like I put a pair of my dads construction boots on. They were way too clunky and heavy on my feet, especially being a 9.5. I understand that you need a big boot to handle the winters, but this style was way too much.

For the price of the boots, I expected to have top quality boots. When I received them an eyelet was not stitched on at all it was semi glued but that didn't last long.

I ordered these shoes in a size 10 and they made my feet look huge. When I first opened the box, I thought that I had mistakenly ordered men's boots rather than women's because of their bulkiness. Having a pretty large foot for a girl, I really did not like them. That being said, I do have to say that if you are looking for durable snow shoes, these are the shoes for you! They are extremely well made. My feet would 100% stay warm in them during the winter. I wish that the front of the boot was not so circular so they would look less clown-like.

I wanted to love these boots so badly - but they are just not very practical or helpful. For starters, they weigh about 15 lbs (slight exaggeration, but very heavy) and are trip-worthy. They are not easy to walk in or sit in. On top of that, they do not actually keep your feet warm. The insulation doesn't do too much. I live in Chicago and wanted to invest in a great warm pair of boots - these sure are an investment, but just not great for actual snow and cold.

You probably can't tell by the pictures, but these boots are too large compared to your legs when you try them. Other models are not as big as this one. It would be great if Sorel uploaded some picture of a model wearing them so you can see what I'm saying. If you don't mind that, these boots will definitely keep you warm, excellent quality, and the colors are awesome.

These boots run 2 1/2 sizes bigger than your normal shoe size. They are very heavy and difficult to walk in. I can't wear them unless there is a lot of snow because it's hard to move around in them. The insert never stays inside the boot. Every time I take them off it comes out and it's extremely difficult to get back in. The only pro about this boot is the warmth. I would have looked at a different model of Sorel's if I had time but I needed them for the snow.

I honestly feel like I have tires on my feet when I wear these. I go to a snowy college and getting up many stairs is very difficult because of how heavy they are. I wish I returned them before I wore them. They are cute, but they're massive! I would suggest a different Sorel boot because these are uncomfortable. But they are well made!

Order about 2.5 sizes too big if you'd like to get them actually on your feet. Great deal on great product, but had to send them back twice to get the right fit.

These are cute and true to size but they are way to bulky for my liking. I look like I have three sizes over than what I am with this boot. Otherwise too bad because they are cute and warm.

These were great boots for 2.5 winters. I wore them for shoveling and general wear during snow storms in NH... until the rubber on the bottom cracked and they are no longer waterproof. There's a fold that develops in the rubber above your arch/ball of foot and that's where they cracked on both the left and right boot. If you have your receipt, you might be able to get it replaced under warranty. I don't and now I have nice looking but useless snow boots.

I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas since we were spending the holidays in Utah. After wearing them the first time, he complained that his toes were cold. So we are returning them. We are very disappointed as we thought there would be no issues.

I just ordered these on Wednesday and got them on Monday. I usually wear a 7.5 or an 8, so after reading the reviews and seeing that these fit true to size I got a 7.5. I tried them on today and I have about an inch and a half of extra space. They were also much wider than I thought they would be. I seriously thought they accidentally put the men's caribou boot in a women's box. I can't even walk in the boots without feeling like I'm going to trip and fall, it's very disappointing. I want to order a 7 but I'm too nervous it won't fit.

I received my Caribous today, and they are very very large. My foot measures to 6.5/37 on the nail. Without a sock, my foot slipped out of a tightly laced boot without any effort. With a heavy winter sock on, it's only slightly better. I'm hoping that the extra room in the toe box will help retain heat as tight boots = cold feet, but I am concerned about slipping (as slipping boots on heels = painful blisters). That said, there's no real support in the footbed so I'll add arch and/or heel cups to give the footbed some support. If I end up having to constantly apply mole skin/sports tape to avoid blisters, I won't be happy. Fingers crossed that if further investment in this expensive boot doesn't work out that Sorel will stand behind their product. Things that make me want to keep the boot, A) reputation, B) style & design (although full sheep skin inner in addition to the wool (outer) lining would be a great touch - there's room!), C) beefiness - I like a solid step (also protects from buried objects beneath snow), D) the large size might work out when I need to slip something on/off quickly (e.g., mail/trash run). I do not yet have enough information to recommend, but I'll keep you all posted as time will tell if they're too large...frost already this week, so, Winter is Coming!!
