Let me first preface this by saying I really wanted to like them. My wife and kids have Sorels and they all love their boots. I am 5'5" and normally wear a size 8. I purchased the caribou in a size 7 after trying them in the store. They look amazing and the quality is very nice. The soles feel thin and I'm concerned I would feel the cold under my feet. My only real concern is how big they look on me. The boots look huge relative to my size. They're just too wide and big. They fit fine but they add an extra two inches of rubber and material which add a lot of weight which make them heavy and clunky for daily use. Driving is a challenge but can be done with a gentle touch. Perhaps I'll try a different style but the classic Caribou will not work for me. :(

These boots will not keep your feet warm at the temps advertised. The liners are much thinner than my older boots and the boot soles are very thin. I am very disappointed. I hate them and can't return them.

I live in Minnesota and have owned my Caribous for two winters. It takes way too long to get these on and off. The liner is so tight, but also is almost impossible to get into the boot itself without feeling like my ankles are going to snap from trying to force them into the boots. Once in, they feel fine. I cannot stand this though, so I am looking for something more easier to slip my feet into.

Ordered these for my daughter in college. She had tried on other styles in the store and didn't realize some Sorel boots weigh more than others! They weigh TWICE what the other boots do! Please be aware of this before you order and have to pay for two-way shipping!!!

According to size chart, my foot is between a 6 and 6 1/2. I tried on my daughters size 7 and they were slightly large, so I ordered a 6 for myself. Had to return because they were way too big. My daughter loved her 1st pair so much I ordered her another pair in 7, they are getting returned because they are too big. They are just not true to size. Their exchange policy is awful. I am now ordering another pair for myself from a dept. store, so at least if I have to return this pair, I can go to the store for an exchange. Keeping in mind the nearest store to sell Sorel boots is over an hour away.
But they are really cute and feel really warm. I know people who have said they have had the same pair for over 5 years. So I hope this is worth the hassle.

I ordered a 5 due to the reviews. I usually wear a 5.5 and sometimes a 6.
My feet were thrown forward in these boots like ski boots; so there was space behind my heel, but my toes were crammed into the front. They also rubbed by outer ankle bones, only had them on a couple of minutes and my ankles were red when I took them off. Sending them back.
I did like they color and the way they looked though.

I purchased this boot for warmth. I Live in Minnesota where temps drop below zero often. This boot does not keep my feet warm for very long, this is a well made boot but...... When walking on the snow it feels like the bottom of the boot is not thick enough, you can feel everything you step on. I Did wear the boots otherwise I would return them.
Get a boot with a way thicker bottom and heal. I'm Still looking for a good warm pair of boots.
Thank you.

Let me start out with expressing how excited I was to get these boots for their slip proof dependability...
Durability: WOW. Boots are heavier than I imagined. I did not expect to wear these for a night on the town, but also didn't expect them to be AS clunky, where I'd be tripping over my own steps. I am 5'3" so it's easy for me to trip in really clunky footwear. I simply purchased these to be able to walk on ice while walking the dog and to withstand the blistering cold Minnesota weather.
If you are looking for that thick soled warm boot (literally thick ALL AROUND) then these are sure to last and do the job intended just by the look of them. They have about an inch in thickness (rubber) all around the sole of the boot. Comparing the soles to my Tofino boots, they are in contrast very different and I know I can trust them on ice. Now if you are like me and want a dependable boot that holds up to its construction description, but still want somewhat of a cute boot on your feet that don't make your feet look like mini tonka trucks, these may not be for you. They are well made in my opinion, but are most definitely a clunky boot and I've seen in some descriptions the term "clown feet" (which maybe a little over exaggerating) but your feet will look like you're wearing a men's size. (Unless you're a size 6 or below, lucky ones!)
Fit: *Note: I wear an 8 in flats everyday wear. The most important part, figuring out your size in these hefty things. I ordered a size 7.5 when I normally wear a 7.5 in a boot. Typically, for the narrow boots I stick to my regular size, BUT these are WIDER boots. For me there was a size issue. I unfortunately have to return these. They are very large on me. After removing the liner my husband could fit in them and he is a men's 10... I can't even believe I might get a 6.5 an entire size down... I went to a store nearby that had one size 7 left and they were the older version that had to of been sitting in the back of their warehouse for a while because the lining was old and had a more restricted front so while sliding on the size 7 boot they were a little more snug around the shaft, but once in, I STILL felt I had more room than I needed! *Keep in mind I like a snug boot. Overall, if you want roomy go down a half size, but if you want TRUE to your size and snug go down a whole size.
Comfort: Yes comfortable. Very roomy in the heel area and up front to fit plenty of those layered thick socks some of you like to wear. I like the suede shaft, it does not rub or sag on your leg.
Overall: I rated a 3 star instead of a 5 star for two reasons. The boot size in my case was not true to size and the fact that I expected clunky, but not as if I was wearing a men's size clunky boot. I thought they'd have a tad more of a woman's fit, but I would still recommend this boot for its functionality. These boots are durable and warm.

First let me start by saying - I LOVE the idea of these boots. Waterproof, serious tread (I think you could climb an ice-mountain in these bad boys without slipping!), trendy colors, and nice liner! I absolutely believe you could go for a nice long walk in these in a foot of snow and your feet would be dry and warm. All great things.
But....
First - I bought these boots thinking the other reviewers were being too picky.... I was wrong. I generally wear a 6.5 or 7 in shoes. Per other reviews, I ordered down and got a 6. The liner fit my feet fine, however, when I took the liner out (and it will slide out with your foot every single time you remove the boot)- my husband could fit into these and he wears a mens 9!!!
Second - The liner in these boots will eventually wear thin where the seams inside the boot are. This will be EXTREMELY uncomfortable for you in the future.
Third - unless you do some serious leg workouts at your gym, I wouldn't suggest buying these. I would guess they are about 4 lbs each, adding an additional 8+ lbs to your feet when walking.
Lastly - These look HUGE on my feet! I am 5'6 with a slender buid (115 lbs) and these are so incredibly wide and clunky it is impossible to walk normally in them. Unless you plan to make the ultimate lumberjack-fashion-statement, you won't be wearing these with leggings or skinny jeans in the fall/ winter. They are just way too big.

I wanted a classic rain boot that would keep my socks and jeans dry during wet and cold weather. These do the trick, but the first or second time I wore them I was walking in the city and got blisters on the back of my ankles. These boots are very heavy and are not ideal for lots of walking. They fit very snug (I tucked my blue jeans into my socks); however, I could feel the boots coming off my heels while walking. After reading the reviews I ordered my normal shoe size of 6 1/2 and I think these boots are too big. I won't be buying another pair until trying them on in store.

I like these boots, they are warm and comfy but a bit on the heavy side. My biggest issue is that when I take my foot out, the inner lining comes with it. I have to do a weird twisting thing to get my foot out and leave the lining in. Hope that that will fix itself overtime as I break them in a little.

These boots do run big! I ordered a 10 which is my normal shoe size but a 9.5 probably would have been better. When I first opened the box I thought they sent me men's boots! These boots are very big and heavy. They are warm which I really like I just wish I would have known they were so manly looking I would have picked a different style. If I hadn't paid shipping to me and have to pay return shipping I would return for a different more feminine style.

I loved my old Sorels I wore in college in MT. Twenty years later, living in ME, I was ready for a new pair. I generally fluctuate between a 9 and a 9.5 shoe size. I tried a size 9 at Cabelas (hunting store) and surprisingly, they were way too short in the length and did not have a 9.5 in stock. Figuring the 9.5 would be perfect, I ordered online. The weekend the boots arrived, we were hit with a big snow storm. Initially, they felt great, but after wearing them 3 times in the snow, the wool liner spread more deeply into the boot and I realized I am swimming in them!!! They feel like a 10.5. I am so disappointed. I spent $175 for these boots that are way too big and since I have worn them, I can't return them.

Although my daughter was so excited and thrilled to receive these beautiful boots for Christmas, she had difficulty getting them on and off. The warm insert always came out when she removed her foot, and there is not enough width room to open the boot big enough slip them on. Love the look and the warmth, but she is not happy with the inconvenience.

These boots did not come in half sizes--they should. Full size was either too small or too big. Also, very hard to get on your foot especially if you have a high instep. And the company doesn't pay to ship returns so it's an expensive gamble to buy online. I was very disappointed and would not shop through this company again.

The price of caribou is so expensive that you think it's well made and not at all what you get.
It lacks comfort. It's not a great design as shown in picture.

I ordered a half size down and the boots fit well that way. The boots are VERY chunky looking. I ordered a size 9 and they make my feet look like large men's feet. I probably should have returned them, but didn't want to deal with it. They do keep your feet very warm and are a good boot for intense snow/cold. I will probably only wear them in extreme weather, due to their cumbersomeness. Otherwise, they are a well made boot.

As many other reviewers say, these boots run big. I wear a size 5 and these feel like a 6. They are very heavy, but I imagine they will stand up well to snow once we get a sufficient amount to tempt me out in them.

I have been coveting my neighbor's boots for a while (& she LOVES hers), so I finally ordered my own. I ordered the gray ones and they look fantastic. My two complaints are 1)The liner is not attached to the boot and I couldn't get my foot in at first. I ended up pulling the liner out, putting my foot into it, THEN inserting it into boot (cumbersome). The actual boot is huge, but the liner fits like a glove. 2) Once I walked around in the boot, the right outer boot began to cut into my ankle. It is probably unique to this boot because of the interior waterproofing and will hopefully loosen up in time as they are worn in. I have a textbook sized 9 foot--not wide, not narrow, just right. I am not returning them because I got them on sale & I've already paid for shipping one way. I am replacing an ancient pair of Columbia boots, which have attached Sherpa liners.

These shoes are great quality and will definitely keep all weather out. However, the shoes are much clunkier than they appear in the picture, i.e. there is a lot of rubber on the bottom, more than it looks like there is. So much so that it effected my walking, I had to return them.

I wish I had carefully read the reviews about the fit before I purchased these boots. They are super cute and high quality, but way too chunky, heavy and big.
I'm a 6.5, but I regularly have to buy a 7 when companies don't carry half sizes. I unfortunately went with the size 7 as usual and I truly regret this now. The boots come with a separate felt boot inside which is smaller and gave me the false impression that the 7 was the right size. However, the lining stretches eventually. Bottom line, after one use my feet were swimming inside and there was no returning at this point. It's very hard to walk with ill-fitted boots that weigh 1 lb each. Not to mention I have to wear them with thick socks which makes my feet sweat and is completely unnecessary since the boots are made for -40F. That's a real shame.
On the positive side, the boots are very cute, warm and extremely well made. My previous Sorel snow boots lasted 8 years of heavy use and I expect these to last as long.

I ordered a pair of Sorels because I needed something warm and waterproof with good traction. This boot is all of those things. Just wish these came in half sizes.
SIZE
- I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 (usually a 9.5 due to added width). These boots only come in whole sizes so I ordered a 10. At first I felt like they were way too big. With thick enough socks they fit better, but the boots are so warm needing thick socks isn't really a concern.
- The width is great, and the arch actually hits my arch (something I always have trouble with), but they are at least a half inch too long.
- If the boots stretch too much they really will be too big. Might need to find a different pair next year.
- I have large calves and usually have a problem finding boots, but these ones fit my legs well.
COMFORT
- Not too comfortable for walking around all day, bu they'll keep you dry and warm when outside.
LOOK/STYLE
- They make my feet look huge, which is why I almost tried to exchange them for a different style that has half sizes.
- They are cute.

I find these are both too small and too large at the same time. I normally wear a 6.5. At the suggestion of other reviews I ordered a 6 because it sounds like these boots run large. The shell of the boot is still a bit too large for me, however, the insert (insulation) is so small I can barely get my foot in and out of the boot! I have to sit down and struggle for ~5 min!
I want to love these boots. They feel very nice on, but I'm not sure they are worth the $140 if I can't get them on and off easily! I would love to know how they change with use - will then end up fitting perfectly if I "break them in"!?
