I ordered these boots in a size 8, which is my normal shoe size. Counting up the total of the other reviews, true to size vs too large, the true to size won. Unfortunately, I had to return them because they do run large. When standing in them with a snowboard sock on with my heel to the back of the boot I still had a thumb and half inch distance to the end of the boot. I laced them up as tight as I could and walked around my house and already I could tell they would rub wrong on my feet because my foot was moving around (up and down and back and forth) with every step. I tried it with two snowboard socks and they fit a little better with less movement, but it would be rare that I would wear them with two pairs of socks. I called and talked to customer service and the guy recommended that I return them and get a half size smaller. As for the quality, I have not tried them in any situation yet that I could rate the true test of the boot, but from what I saw they looked really well made and felt very warm.

I bought these boots for my son and he said they are very warm and waterproof. His only complaint is that they feel a bit "heavy" and he certainly makes a lot of noise when he clomps around in them! Overall a very practical boot and good-looking, too.

I wear a size 8 shoe and ordered the boot in size 8.5. I tried them on and could barely get my foot into the liner or boot. The size on the tongue said 8.5 but on the bottom of the inside boot said 6.5. So not sure if it was just tagged wrong or the boots run extremely small. Otherwise they looked great and would of worked well for me.

The quality of this boot is excellent, clearly meant to be worn in the worst snow conditions, and I definitely recommend them for that purpose. However, as a woman, I felt that the toe region was TOO wide! They look like men's shoes which I was not expecting. I am keeping them because of the quality, however, I wish that the toe was just a bit narrower to look more feminine. I am only commenting this because I wished I had read it somewhere before buying the shoe so that I was not shocked when I received it.

These boots are amazing. They are so warm and cozy feeling and hold up well when trekking through the city in a major snow storm. Very comfortable. I love the look of the boot and feel stylish while wearing them. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the sole of the boot is very heavy. I like this and it gives some good traction in the snow, but it is a bit of a workout to walk in these.

The shell is a bit snug but the boots fit just fine. I'm a 9 but a 9 1/2 would be too big. The first time I put them on I had to take the shell out and put on then first, then slide into the boot, but every time after I have been able to slide into the boots with the shell in. Love these boots! Took up to the mountain and my feet stayed dry and warm all weekend.

Love these. Ordered a half size big anyway because I wanted them to be really really warm, which means extra space to move my toes and air to trap inside there...but they are kind-of amazing huge. I am keeping them anyway. I just clomp around in the snow in them and it's great! But I ordered a women's 7.5 and they are as big on the sole as a men's 10. Weird!!!! Somehow the inside doesn't feel THAT big, though. The inside actually feels like it's just about a full size big for me...

Seems to run large - I usually wear 7.5, but ended up being happy with a 6.5 Caribou boot. I'm very pleased with my purchase - the boot has excellent grip on ice and so far is waterproof and toasty warm.

I got these for my husband using your foot measuring guide, which woukd be correct, except that he has a very high arch and could not get them on. If he took the liner out, he could get the boot on and the length was right. He could not even get the liner alone on his foot. We will have to return these and see if a larger size works. Hope so, because he loved them.

These boots are warm. So warm that you can wear them on the moon and only be slightly cold. Like, barely even notice cold. I've done it and only had a slight chill. That's obviously very warm. They keep snow out and the rubber repels water which is the coolest thing about rubber. Plenty of traction with the sole. I didn't slip on the ice, not even once.

Overall, I like the boots. They are very toasty and I love the colors. The only thing keeping me from totally loving them is that they are a little too roomy, feeling more like a 7.5 than a 7. This makes an already bulky boot feel exceptionally bulky.

I bought these boots online after trying several pairs of Sorel and non-Sorel boots at a local EMS. The Sorel's were the last pair I tried, but the EMS didn't stock Sorel in half sizes (I needed a 10.5). The boot runs true to size and accommodates my _very_ wide foot. They're a little heavy, but they keep your feet very warm and dry. They also have good grip on the snow and ice. A double knot is a must when wearing them. But overall, they appear to be a good quality boot. I am pleased with the purchase.

I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas, and they fit true to size. When I originally took them out of the box I thought for sure they would have to go back, they look huge, but they are big boots. He will use them for taking our dog for a walk in the snow, as well as he said they will be good for hunting. I have the women's version of these boots as well and love mine. They are great boots that are nice looking and true to size. I would buy these boots and shop with Zappos again.

I'm 5'3 and 120 pounds and wear a size 8 usually (I followed the reviews after researching extensively) and sized down to a 7 (glad I did, they fit perfect!). I just tried them out in our recent snow and the traction functioning is fabulous and my feet stay warm. My only complaint is that they are heavy boots. Maybe once I get to the gym some more I won't notice so much, but for being out of shape, I am currently feeling it! Thanks for a good product!

I'm in love with these boots BUT I should have ordered 1/2-1 full size smaller. They make my feet look obnoxiously big and unless if I have 2+ pairs of socks on my feet slide around in them. I planned on taking out the liner and wearing them like rain boots during the summer months but I don't see that happening. But on a good note they're sturdy, warm, and waterproof which is what I wanted.

These boots do an excellent job of keeping feet warm. I outfit kids for a wilderness therapy program in Northern Wisconsin, and these are what we use the entire winter. We have never had a cold weather injury while using these boots. The removable liners are essential to keeping feet warm and dry, as well as the fact that the boot is quite waterproof. The only downside is that they only seem to last one season, with continual wear and use. The liners last as long as the boot, and are easily replaceable. Unfortunately, after about 6 months of daily wear, the rubber at the sides of the boot where it bends when you step starts to develop cracks that eventually turn into full blown holes, at which point you need new boots. Overall, a good boot that will keep your feet dry and warm.

I love these boots, but since I'm an 8 1/2 and there are no half sizes, I sized down to an 8 thinking they would be a bit big and bulky. Plus, my husband has the same boots in size 10, which is his size, but noticed that they ran big on his feet. As a result, I sized down and unfortunately they were too small. I'm sending them back for a 9. Why doesn't Sorel make these in 1/2 sizes?

These shoes are very stylish and sturdy and warm, however, they are also very heavy - seems like I'll have to spend my first few snowstorms getting used to walking in them before I feel comfortable.

I read the reviews before purchasing boots for my wife. I have Sorel boots that I bought in 2012 and I love them, they fit perfectly. Other reviews on the woman's boot said they were very difficult to put on and take off. Luckily my wife has a small foot and ankle/calf or else we would have to return this boot as well. I just don't understand how so many people can have the same issue yet Sorel hasn't made the necessary changes. The boot is tight on my wife by she is going to put up with it. Its not actually the boot but the insert that is the issue. Why won't someone take the bull by the horns and fix this??

I bought a pair for my girlfriend. She needed a waterproof, winter boot with a high traction sole to walk our dogs in the mountains around Park City, UT. She chose the Men's Caribou because they're have the 'dimpled' sole and are about 1 inch taller than the Women's Caribou and offered a bit of extra room for warm socks. So far, she's very happy with gray color, the high traction, and warm toes. In the future I might give them 5 stars, but can't until we can evaluate their longevity.

These boots are great. Only issue was the sizing -- if in doubt when ordering, size slightly larger than you think you need. I'm usually a 7, but my toes are right at the end of these boots (without thick socks).
