I ordered these boots by recommendation. Shipping was exactly on time, almost to the minute. Boots look great. I wear a size 12 in just about everything (dress shoe, sneakers, etc). These boots fit slightly larger which is fine with me. It leaves me room for a heavier pair of socks or an insole insert. Boots are a bit heavier than I'm used to but if it keeps my feet dry, thats fine. Now, all I have to do is wait for some snow to try them out.

My mom's had a pair of these boots since forever (and a few duct tape patches, of course). I got mine as a present about 6 years ago, maybe a little more. First things first: we live in central Wisconsin and the UP, respectably. There's a lot of snow and cold, so cuteness isn't really what's most important in boots. Also, we spend a week every year camping in a cabin in the UP in the winter. It's heated with a wood-burning stove, so we spend a lot of time outside collecting wood, hiking and otherwise enjoying nature. A lot of boots can keep you warm in the city, or for short periods of time, but these boots will never let you down. A lot of people seem to be saying that they run small. I couldn't disagree more. I sized up to an 11, when I normally wear a 9.5. I probably could fit my feet into a smaller size, but since warmth is the key component, lots of trapped air is better at insulating than too many socks. This method leaves you with really large, bulky boots that shift a little when you walk, but they don't look silly under snowpants, and actually they're pretty attractive when you consider similarly effective boots. When I get more, I'll definitely stick to the larger size. These boots are way more waterproof than any other "winter" boots I've owned. It seems like manufacturers assume if it's snowing, it'll never get wet. I've forded ice-cold streams more times than I can count w/out worrying that the water would get in. I've spent a good 6 months a year in these boots (every day) for at least 6 years before I had to give up on them. That's longer than any other shoe I've had, much less a specialty shoe like this. The only reason I had to get rid of them was because the tread wore down, and they were slippery on the ice. (Like I said, my mom's are probably 5 years older than mine, and are doing fine with a few duct tape patches here and there to secure the waterproofedness.) They never gave up on keeping me warm, or on being overwhelmingly comfy. They're like the (waterproof, windproof) sweatpants of boots. It's gearing up to be winter again, so I'm checking out some of the other Sorels. There are some that are a little more fashionable, but if you're looking for a hard-working, long-lasting, crazy warm boot, you can't get better. (I tried to add a picture, but they're almost always covered by snowpants and as such, unrecognizable.)

after years of using leather hiking boots in the winter such as vasque sundowners and EMS gore tex boots i decided to purchase the caribou last fall and i could not be happier! We had a pretty cold and snowy winter here in the mountains of colorado and these boots got put to the test and passed with flying colors! For starters they are WARM and my feet were never cold in any conditions even at -20 which we had on several mornings this past winter. my feet stayed dry in all but the deepest snows and the boots are thus far showing no signs of wear at all despite fairly regular use last year. I used these boots for walking the dogs, shoveling snow and limited hiking and snowshoeing and was never disappointed. the tread shows no signs of wear, nor do the leather uppers and rubber lowers. they did run a bit big for me and with a thin sock feel too large but with heavier wool socks fit just fine. they are heavy and not sell suited for serious athletic activities but thats not what i bought them for. couldnt be happier with my purchase! highly recommended!

These boots are the cutest ones I've ever seen so when I read the other reviews saying that the boots run large, I was conflicted on which ones to buy. I didn't want to end up having to return them after I waited so long(a whole 6 days!) to receive them! In the end, I chose my normal size and they fit perfectly! They're a little bit heavier than I was expecting, but that's not a big deal. I'll just have some hecka nice calf muscles by the time the winter season is over. :) They're super warm which is a good thing because I'm headed to a town where it is ALWAYS snowing.

I fell in love with these years ago when I worked as a lift operator at a ski resort. I stood on ice and snowpack for hours at a time in these and my feet never got wet or cold....while not 'pretty', these boots are absolutely, without a doubt, quite simply...AMAZING !!!!!

Too bad it's summer! What can I say...they are Sorels!

As previously stated, the boots do run big. I had to return, waiting on smaller size to be in stock. I generally wear a 10.

I absolutely love these boots. They have saved me this winter in freezing Chicago! They are super comfy & warm. They are a little heavy but being such a solid boot, I can handle a few pounds per leg!! I love my grey & black caribou choice! Def recommend!!

I bought these as a replacement for my 20+ year old Sorel boots that finally wore out. There are not very many things of that quality and durablity. The new boots are the same quality, and I expect that they will last 20= years also!

Very comfortable, and warm, a little bit heavy/bulky but can live with as long as they keep me warm and dry (and they do)

These boots are comfortable, warm and dry. I've always had Sorel winter boots and have yet to be disappointed.

After several mild winters and owning no cold weather foot wear, this year's brutal snow and cold had me in search for the perfect winter boots. I read multiple reviews across several brands and decided on the Sorel Caribou Boot in black. I am so pleased with this purchase and they arrived just in time for our next big snow. These boots are about true to size, with just an everyday sock - anything thicker, and I would recommend going up at least 1/2 size. The boots are lined and so warm, even after being outdoors for several hours. They're comfortable and provide good traction. I've been shoveling, sledding, on a neighborhood walk (or trudge) all in these boots and have no complaints. My only struggle is when it's time to take them off... I typically end up pulling the liners out. Still, easy enough to pop back in, so not a deal breaker. Based on the quality of this product, I would recommend these again and again. Worth every penny as I expect they will last for many years to come. They're practical, comfortable and look good.

I bought these boots in 1980, I've been using them ever since. 34 years. The laces are about to give out and 20 years ago my dog chewed one of the snow frills part way off (thankfully he missed the leather), but they're still as warm and dry as they were when i bought them all those years ago. They have the original wool felt inserts too. I can't think of a product that's stood the test of time better than these Sorels. They get my highest recommendation.

This boots are very comfortable ,very warm excellent for this cold and snowy winter. This boots run big I wear size 7,but with Sorel boots I ordered size 6 and fit perfectly so I would recommended go 1 size smaller then your actual size. Love them

I cannot express in words how much I love these boots. Not only are they stylish, but comfortable, warm, sturdy, 100% waterproof/sno proof and easily wiped clean. The Caribou is the perfect height; not too short and not too tall. The grips on the bottom make navigating the snowy conditions seamless! They do run very large so I would suggest ordering a size or a half size down from your normal shoe size (dependent on how thick your socks are). I find myself picking outfits that will allow me to wear these boots daily. BEST BUY EVER. Worth every penny and put UGG to shame...

It's another sloppy day in New England and these boots have been tremendous in the snow, slush and rain. These are on the large side and they did give me blisters the first time I wore them, but they have redeemed themselves a hundred times over. My feet have stayed dry and warm and I have great traction on some pretty unpleasant sidewalks. I have confidence when walking on icy sidewalks and through slushy puddles. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone who has to brave sloppy winter days.

Living where I do, & being without a pair of good boots was not working for me. Being that I am from warmer climates, these Caribou's are the first snow/Ice/slush, overall cold climate boots I have ever owned. I tried on the Caribou's first, then went and tried about 5 or 6 other brands (competitors), and I only have the Sorel's because at least for me the Sorel's beat out the rest. However, the first pair I bought ended up being too big. Because of the sleeve, they felt fine at first. After about a 2 weeks, the boots began to split at the sides of the toes on both boots. So, back to the store I went. Turns out, I needed a size smaller. Which is a size smaller than I've worn since I was 14. The correct size for me made quite a difference. Comfortable before, now they are even more comfortable, even after two winters! No cracking whatsoever. And they have so far kept my feet both warm & dry in a variety of conditions & temperatures. I purposely waited to write a review. Had to actually use them a while first to be able to give my informed and honest opinion. Best money I've spent in years! If your looking for nice warm boots then you will love these. I wear a size 10 so they aren't very petite looking but they keep my feet so nice and warm and all the tread on the bottom makes walking on ice a breeze. I wasn't sure if I should go up a size since I wear thick socks but I printed out the size chart and had my thick socks on measured my feet and still was at the size 10 measurement. They fit like a glove. I would definitely recommend buying these boots.

I recived my caribou's just in time for snow and cold, have worn them eveyday. They keep my feet very warm and the best cold weather boots I have owned to date.

My husband purchased a pair of Sorel booths for me, similar to the Men's Caribou Boot. I was so pleased with them. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn! When I saw that my grown son needed a new pair of boots, I purchased the Caribou Boots for him. He protested at first that he didn't need boots, but now that he has them, he loves them. They are true to size, comfortable, warm and easy to slip on. Great purchase. Sold on Sorel's

Walking daily (and nightly) for hours in severe East coast winter weather with my Karelian Bear Dog I almost froze my toes several times. Got my boots 4 days ago. Sheer bliss!!! Toasty warm feet no matter how long I walk. Quality of the boots outstanding. Ordered one size bigger than my regular size (12) which was for me the right choice. It pays to buy the best!
