I have a very high arch and wear very expensive orthotics in my running shoes. I've tried many other store brands to try and replicate the orthotic feel at a lower price with no success. I first found the SOLE Softec Ultra's at a running store and can finally say that they provide the same support and comfort as my expensive orthotics. I've purchased 2 pair of these so far and am looking into some of their other styles for all of my other shoes.

Amazing -
I have had a pair of the ultras going on 2 years now (just bought a new pair). I am a valet and put in probably 10-15 miles a day on concrete. These along with Brooks Adrenaline GTS's have saved my legs. I used to constantly have shin splints wearing only Asics with no insole. I thank SOLE for the awesome product and way to go Zappos for carrying them!

Sole Ultra Softec -
Initially, I had high hopes for these insoles as they got good reviews from others. I put them in the oven at 200 degrees for two minutes until the heat indicator changed color. They didn't seem to be as moldable as they let on. They do have a high arch support that took some getting used to but after a few days of straight wear, I got used to the arch support and they actually became comfortable to wear. I still think they are too hard for me. Not enough cushion.

Love them! I have been have foot and ankle problems for the last couple years. I knew a need some kind of insole. I went to a podiatrist and they prescribed me orthotics for my ridiculously high arch. When they told me my insurance wouldn't cover them, I made the mistake of asking how much? They wanted $500. I immediately went online and looked up the top rated for insoles for arch support and this was the one. Zappos, as always, sent them to me with 2 days. I put them in the oven and into my shoes and wow! I have never had so much support in my life. After wearing them for less then 5 hours my ankle pain dissipated. They not only give me amazing arch support but they incredibly comfortable. I would recommend these to anyone who underpronates and needs that extra support for any activity.

I accidentally burned up my first pair in the oven a couple of days before I needed to go to Vegas to the CES convention. I called up Zappos and they said they'd make sure I had a new pair by the show. I'd worn my first pair all day everyday for 1.5 years. They have good arch support, especially if you don't heat them up and just let them form to your feet and your walk. Well my feet didn't fail me at the show. Ankle balance boards, loose shoe laces, and these Sole Ultra's in my Gel Nimbus Asics have saved my feet. Lots of cushion if you have nerve issues in the toe box. Good luck.
I'd also recommend:
Don't bother with the other brands. They're all half-measures.

Superb! I wish I's discovered these Sole insoles a whole lot of money ago. I have just received them in two varieties and the Flips, and my feet are already singing their praises. I have recently discovered the reason for my foot pain is a progressive non-diabetic form of peripheral neuropathy. Several pedorthists have told me I have higher than normal arches, and that almost no shoes that come off the shelf would evenly distribute my weight enough to help the ball-of-foot pains. The area that hurts the most. So I've gone through about 30 pairs of insoles, inserts, arch supports, shoes, and tried them all in various combination. Only the Finn Comfort Finnamics have even come close to providing the comfort these Sole Ultras do, when matched with proper shoes, preferably rocker sole shoes, as they center the weight back off the balls of the feet. I'll probably update this review after wearing them a while, but as of now I haven't even heat-molded them. Didn't want to chance lowering the arch. Right now I'm a really happy camper, er, walker.

These Sole Ultra Softec are life savers. I spend all day on my feet on hard cement surfaces and my feet and legs were killing me. I've tried multiple shoes and shoe inserts to help my aching feet. None have helped until these Sole Ultra Softec. The last thing I wanted to do was pay a lot of money for a pair of inserts, but I was desperate. I also thought that heating them up in the oven to fit your feet was just a gimmick. I read the reviews on Zappos and gave them a try. They are great, I'd like to say worth the money. I just close my eyes when I push the purchase button knowing that my feet will be the happier for it. I give them four stars overall because of the price. 5 stars for comfort. Style is irrelevant here they fit your shoes what else matters? I am glad they aren't bug green or purple.

These are absolutely great! I like them better than SuperFeet. I used the wear to mold method. I did not heat them up, I have high arches. My feet felt much better even when walking over 10 miles a day. Give them a try; you will not be disappointed. Foot stretching exercise are still a must. I do not understand why companies do not educate their employees about good insoles and foot stretching. Their employees would feel much better and could perform better. They would Make more money and have less issues with foot injuries.

These are the most comfortable shoe insoles I have ever tried. They are easy to trim and the styling on top of the insole is a fun touch. I only wear shoes that allow me to replace the original with my own insole. I expect to buy more of this brand as I wear out my shoe insole from a prior brand.

These are great for plantars fascia! I think these work better than the Birkenstock inserts. It took a little longer than directed to get them hot in the oven. The color dot didn't change color as the directions stated it would. But for fear of burning them like others had said I yanked them after a few minutes. They fit great in my Kswiss tubes!

Great product, turned my uncomfortable hiking boots into shoes that I use everyday. Easy to mold, good directions. I was not able to walk where I wanted due to bad feet. These insoles allow me to walk as far as I want and not come home with sore feet. I actually picked a size 14.5 to 15, when I am a 14. They worked out perfectly after trimming. Would recommend to anyone.

Not only are these the most comfortable orthotics around but both my Podiatrist and Physical Therapist highly recommend them. \r\n\r\nThey are comfortable, easy to form, take little care and last forever. Certainly they are much more modestly priced than custom made orthotics.

I've used three sets of Sole insoles in my Brooks Adrenalin running shoes for 7 half-marathons and one marathon. They fit perfectly in Brooks (women's size 9). The first time I used them I was in a hurry, and didn't heat them in the oven. They worked just fine. I buy a new set each year and wouldn't buy any other insole.

I bought these to replace very expensive orthotics molded by a doctor. The Softecs are easy to mold using the included instructions and they seem to have a very long life. This purchase was for a second pair just so I don't have to switch them when I change shoes at the gym. I use them mostly in New Balance shoes but have slipped them in dressier shoes when I knew I would be on my feet for several hours. I use orthotics for a knee situation and to keep a formerly dislocated foot bone in place.

This is my second set of insoles. I use them with my New Balance sneakers. They really help alleviate the pains I get in my arches. They are well worth the price.

I love these insoles. I've had three pairs now. I have really flat feet and suffer from foot pain when I don't use good supportive shoes, and these have helped a ton. I have them in my running shoes and occasionally switch them over into some Merrells that I have as well. I also like how you heat them up when you first get them to custom mold them to your feet. Pretty cool technology. A bit pricey, but worth it to keep my feet from hurting.

I had a bit of metatarsal pain and these worked to stop the pain when other insoles did not. Good item!

Awesome!
I now have several pairs of these, and they're great. If you squeeze them in your fingers, it feels like they don't have as much cushioning as some other insoles, but when they're in your shoes, they're magical. I've got arthritis in balls of my feet (I broke both big toes in tae kwon do with poorly executed front kicks), and these feel terrific. I weigh about 240, and I don't heat these up at all - I just put them in my shoes and they're perfect.

Soles are lifesavers -
These insoles are nothing short of amazing. Before I got them, I was using the cheap drugstore kind and my feet hurt CONSTANTLY (I'm a bartender and cocktail waitress). Since I got the Soles, my feet have been soo happy and pain-free! These are worth every penny.

Very good for high arches -
I've tried various inserts for my running shoes, literally dozens of them. These are fantastic. I have been running in the ultra soles for about a year now without injury. If you have a high long arch, these are the most aggressive inserts available. They are very supportive, and they also have a deep heel cup which helps to stabilize the heel. All good if you suffer from plantar fasciitis or peroneal tendonitis.
Although I run in the ultras, most people would probably be ok in the regulars, which have the same contour, they just aren't as thick. Neither feels cushy, though. they provide firm support. I also wear the slims in my Skechers casual shoes. Terrific find, and I'm so glad that Zappos carries them.

I wanted to try these insoles because my prescription orthotics are huge and bright blue and can be seen in certain shoes. I thought these being black and gray (as the description said), would be more subtle. But alas, they were black and red. I decided to keep them anyway and use them in my cycling shoes. They're not quite as good as my custom orthotics, but pretty good. I didn't have to trim them to fit my shoes, which I really liked.

Good support but cushioning is lacking -
These are good for arch support but not as cushioning as the Ecco inserts. They also tip your balance a little forward in golf shoes so golfers need to be aware of the slight difference in posture.

These suck. The arch is way too high if you have a flat arch like me. It feels like it is driving up through your foot and overall they just don't feel like they have a lot of cushion. I love the graphite ones, but couldn't find them so I bought these. I will go back to the graphite insoles. If you have a flat arch, don't buy these.
