Great Winter Running Shoes -
These shoes are great so far. Not only have they gotten a lot of comments about their looks, but they seem like they will be great for winter trail running. Although they look like cold air will just seep in, they are deceivingly warm. Having supported my girlfriend in the last 9 miles of the Marine Corps Marathon in these shoes, I would not suggest running on the pavement in these or in warm weather. It was in the high fifties and they were way too warm for this weather and pavement, well that was just stupid. That being said, they are great shoes and also great for every day casual wear as well.

Great shoes-but tight -
Soft shock absorbing heel- almost as comfy as Crocs. Salomon shoes are well made. Unfortunately, I will be returning these as they are narrow compared to my Salomon XA Pro's. My feet usually take 10.5 2E and some 11D (XA pro) but these are too tight. I wish they came in widths!

Hot pair of shoes -
Style and comfort are all there. I can't say anything about durability since I just got them, but they are great all around.

Awesome!
These shoes are so comfortable! They hug your feet. I don't run, so I'm not sure how they'd feel when running, but for everyday wear, they're great.

Great shoe. Slightly more cushioned than Salomons XA Comp, upper is softer material great for going sockless and really dry. Lightest trail shoe I've run in.

I love the look and padded comfort of these shoes; I only wish they came in a street version, because the sole is definitely made for non-pavement use and will wear down quickly if used exclusively on the street.
These have lots of arch support, are very lightweight, and have a great tuck-away lacing system. This is my first pair of Salomons, but definitely not my last.

Nice looking sneaker, received several compliments on them in a race I ran. True size to fit. I like the lacing system; however, it would not be good for a race more than 5K. One sneaker came loose about 1/4 mile from the finish. They are great for travel, easy off/on at airport security.

Great shoe that is comfortable, light, and attractive. As the picture shows, the bottom is almost "cleated", making it a very trail specific shoe rather than those that can be worn on off road or streets. Running on streets would be like running on soccer cleats on pavement, and would quickly wear the tread. I've used these on pretty intense trails, and I'd have to say they work best on smoother trails that are slick with ice or snow, or just wet. On really rugged, rocky trails, the thinner, lighter sole isn't very supportive and it's easy to roll your ankle. As the name and description suggest, these are for fast trail running, and not really a great alternative to hiking shoes that I know some use trail running shoes for. Overall, it's great for what it is, but know that it is race-specific trail shoe. Not an everyday runner or hiking shoe.

This shoe is WELL made, but with a design FLAW. It holds together, and is comfortable right out of the box. The elastic forefoot material makes for a secure foot for trail-running. The sole does not pick up gravel or hold mud, and the tread is very grippy on wet rock and in gravel and sand. It is built on a curved last which is especially good for those with a neutral or high arched foot. Kind of odd to use that attribute in a so-called anti-pronation shoe.\r\n\r\nNow to the problem, and it is severe. People have said they like the so called pronation control. I seriously doubt anyone saying that uses the shoe on trails. The inside of the heel is made of hard rubber which has very little give. It will resist pronation. The outside area of the heel is made of a much softer rubber, and this is a fatal flaw. The outside of the heel could just as well be hard like the inner side. With the outer area being softer, IF you land on a slanted surface, a slanted rock for example, the shoe collapses to the outside, rolling your ankle. On the trail, this shoe is a sprained ankle waiting to happen. A-symmetrical cushioning is probably a bad idea in any shoe, but it is absolutely disastrous in a trail shoe. Dual density heels are a design gimmick. Safer and supportive for pronators would be simply (symmetrical) stability.\r\n\r\nThis shoe has heel elevation. I find this a useful trait running UP steep hills (and a liability running down). I used that to good effect doing the Pikes Peak Ascent which is ALL UP hill. Running up hill at high altitude, the ankle rolling issue is not a large risk because one is running so slowly. I would NEVER run DOWN hill in this shoe!

Keep it on the trail -
Just purchased these after having had some success with their GoreTex cousins. The fit is Salomon narrow. I believe it is meant to be a bit nimbler and feels lacking in support at the heel and ankle.
While not completely waterproof it is good for most trails other than complete bogs!
Great grip, though i see wear on the tread even though I only run a few blocks enroute to chip/dirt trails.

Great first trail running shoes -
I have searched for the perfect trail running shoe for quite some time now. I finally found one that meets my requirements. All in all, it is still a tad heavy for my liking but I am comparing it to running flats which is entirely different kind of running shoes. I do like these shoes so far -- my trail running with my fast huskies mix dog is a breeze now. I will have a better assessment later... I did buy a half size larger so I have more room... so far so good.

I use them for bike riding because of the nice sticky sole and the hidden lacing system. I also use them for work, because they're good if you're going to be standing a long time. The split density heel causes you to keep shifting your weight, and this seems to prevent foot fatigue. I don't even need to switch my shoes in the middle of a work day like I normally do. They're also nice and light. On the downside, they're not good for athletic activities where having solid good footing is important, because of the heel design. I wore them to a training session using kettle bells, and my ankles wiggled around like crazy, wrecking my balance and form, flat footed Vans did much better! People seem to love the look of the shoe, and always comment on them. They make my somewhat large feet seem smaller, so maybe that's not bad.

These shoes are a good fit. I like the dual density on the medial side. They have a nice aggressive outer sole. The base of the shoe is too narrow for any serious trail or mountain running. It's really easy to drop the ankle, which is never fun. This is a good shoe for dirt roads but I would not buy it again. It's also a bit pricey.

The traction on the ice and snow is outstanding. I love the feel of the shoe and the insole is dreamy. My issue is with the sole. After only 15 miles there was significant wear on the tread pattern. I know that tread wear patterns are specific to a runner but the sole is simply too soft to handle the wear and tear of an entire winter of running. In my experience runners are cheap by nature and paying the money for a pair of runners that will only last me a month or two (the point of these shoes is the treads ability to handle ice and snow) is simply undoable. Too bad because I love the feel of the shoe.

Judge a book by the inside.
Shoes look great, very durable, versatile, and grips the trail better than any shoe I've tried. However; after running a mile or so I felt several pressure points inside the shoe that eventually rubbed some of the worst sores I've ever had. The stitching is not blended very well on the inside. Be fore warned.
