Great boot! I love this boot! I wear a size 10 and have skinny legs, but the shaft on this boot is narrow enough that it's not flapping around my leg like other boots! I generally don't wear heels, but for a 3 inch heel this is not bad! I can wear them all day long, but only if I'm not doing too much walking! Shoe runs a bit long, but even on my big feet they look much smaller! Color, style, construction are all great!

Love this boot. I have a very high instep and some boots are too tight there. But these are snug enough that I don't slip down into the toe box, but they also don't cut off the blood to my toes. They fit my narrow ankles closely and are slightly loose in the calf, not baggy though. Wish there was a bit more "cush" under the ball of the foot, there is room for a pad to be added.

Great boots! This is the first pair of Frye boots I have ever owned, but not the last. The quality is amazing. They are incredibly comfortable and extremely well made. The style is classic so this is a pair of boots if well cared for, can last a long time. I love them!

I feel the opposite of what a few people have commented... I found the boots to be comfortable in the ankle, not big at all. The calves, however, are much too large (they would still be too large, even with jeans tucked in). I do not have unusually small legs either - I have never had this problem with any other boots including other Frye boots of the same shoe-size. What's up with that? I will most likely be returning them.

Love these boots! Also ordered the Jessica Bennett Guard boot and loved them also!! Was a very good deal as no shipping or tax!! They are very comfortable. I normally don't get a higher heel on a boot and wasn't sure about the comfort but was very pleased!!! Would recommend them!!

Awesome - These boots are so unique and so comfortable. I am on my feet all day and I am able to wear these without pain or blisters.

My favorite Christmas present! I got these for Christmas after seeing them a few months earlier and falling in love with them. They are a bit expensive but I figure, they're Frye so they'll last forever. I think they are really unique and somewhat different from what else is out there on the market, and I like that. They look great with jeans, skirts, dresses- very versatile. And the fit is true to size. Definite 5 stars!

Awesome boots! Perfect style wise. Only complaint for me - as someone else mentioned - is they are snug in the calf and loose at the ankle. Not that they are uncomfortable though, and it certainly would not deter me from wearing them.

smokin' hot boots! These boots were a splurge for me, but I'm glad I broke down and bought them. Not only are they hot, they're WAY more comfortable than my other boots I've been wearing for years. They actually have arch support and aren't gaping on my scrawny legs. AWESOME boots! I will definitely buy more Fryes.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE MY NEW BOOTS - This is a fabulous looking boot. I have skinny calves & for once I get a boot that fits them tight. That is so great. I love different looks & this boot fits the bill because not everyone has it. The leather is wonderful & workmanship is outstanding. This is my 4th pair of Frye boots.. They're a bit spendy but worth it. They are a little slippery but that can be easily remedied.

Fabulous Boots! Looks good on skinny legs : ) I waited for them since they were out and ordered as soon as I got the email.. These boots are beautiful!!! I ordered the brown in a size 6 and the 6 is perfect. There is little space in the calf (stick legs) but the look of the boot is fantastic. I can't wait to rock these boots in the bay area! They are worth every penny. My new favorite boot.

I've waited soooo loooong - I tried on these boots a few months ago when I was traveling. I was shocked that they actually fit me since I can never find boots to fit my thin legs. I was immediately in love but didn't purchase them since I didn't want to cart them back on the plane. Zappos was out my size when I ordered them, but when they were available I received an email from Zappos and I quickly purchased them. They arrived the next day (I am still in shock about that) and all I can say is that the boots are amazing. Perfect for skirts, jeans, and dresses. My calf is on the skinny side and they fit beautifully and I can still wear them over leggings or jeans. I did order a 1/2 size smaller and they really are perfect. Worth the price for the quality and great Zappos service.

I love these boots! I have them in the chocolate color and they are beautiful. I am only buying one pair of winter boots this season (I live in Southern CA) and I really wanted something versatile that could be dressed up, down, or even taken to the snow and I think these boots fit the bill. They are also super comfortable for a boot because the heel is stable, but I think they are still sexy enough. I think the calf fit is really relative, too. I am 8 months pregnant and I can get these zipped up around jeans (although it is tight!) although I did have fairly skinny calves before. So if you have super skinny calves, you might need to get them taken in which you are probably used to anyway.

Favorite Boots! These boots are awesome! The look is unique and they're also very comfortable. The construction and materials are all top quality.

Beautiful Grey Rugged Boots - I have these boots in the Grey color and disagree with the prior reviewer stating this color is not attractive. I love these boots and they are just as they appear in the visual. However, they do fit tight to the leg and just zip over my average sized calves. Do not hesitate if you would like to own rugged Grey boots. The boot looks just as they appear in the picture, and my boots did not arrive with some offensive odor.

Good boots - Looks great. It has a leather insole. The only complaint is that the boots seem a bit slippery when walking on my tiled floors. I am going to take them to a shoe repair place to have them add slip resistance traction sole. I prefer these boots better than the Dolce & Gabbana Dark Brown Leather Button Boots.

Great boots! But NARROW in calf - I don’t have a wide calf - in fact I don’t even have problems with Fluevog’s, which are notoriously narrow - these I can’t even get jeans under. I don’t know what boots the girl who said these were baggy got - because they’re NOT. Don’t expect to be able to tuck pants in, unless you have stick legs. That said, these are great boots, love the military-esque style.

Brown color is beautiful - I bought the brown and love them. Mine are well made and fit snuggly at the calf - and I do not have large calves. I am tall, so that may make a difference. I did buy a pair of Frye shoes in grey and I agree with the other reviewer that the grey color is ugly, but the brown is not. I would highly recommend the black or the brown in these.

Love 'em, but can't zip 'em - These are unbelievably cute and very well made, but alas, they were impossible for me to zip. My large calves are definitely on the larger side (boots fit me about 50% of the time), but these weren't even close. For you gals with bigger calves, don't get your hopes up. Mine were dashed!

Beautiful! These boots are amazing! I have them in black. They are definitely not cut wide in the calf like the reviewer below wrote--I have average size calves and always fit into knee-high boots perfectly and these are no exception. The ankle is only slightly baggy but only because I have very thin ankles. I think the problem is that people are buying the wrong size. You need to size 1/2 size down in these--buy the size you wear in the Frye Villager boots. They're thick and kinda tough, so if you want a dainty boot for fancy nights out, this isn't your best bet, but they're great for many occasions. The heel is a tad higher than I would like, but they're super cushioned and feel so comfortable. I put a Vibram sole on the bottom so the leather wouldn't wear through.

GREAT FRYE BOOTS - I ordered these in dark brown from Zappos. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn and they look great with everything. The leather is beautiful and durable and, of course, Zappos delivered them the very next day!

This is THE pair of boots. I bought the brown ones in a store - they're significantly lighter in color (and even more gorgeous) than the picture shows, so you may want to check them out in person first. They are cut wide throughout the foot and ankle, but make up for it in overall comfort. These are beautiful, classic, versatile boots with plenty of individuality. And they're Frye’s, which means they'll hold up for ten million years.

Better in the photos - I was so excited to try this shoe. Online I loved the look of the grey version with its antiqued leather and updated granny-boot style. In person, it was very disappointing. The grey color is NOT grey. It is brown. And the previous reviewer who complained about the bulkiness around the ankle was dead-on. I am a fan of Frye, unfortunately this boot is all granny, and needs a style update. Not worth $400, no matter how comfortable and well-made it is (and it is both).

Great Fit! I love the fit and comfort of this boot. I have 14" muscular calves and these fit like a second skin. Don't know if these would work with tucking jeans in, since they are so snug around the calves. I ordered my true size and had no break-in period. However, because I am not use to the height, my ankles are hurting at the end of an 8 hour day. I've worn nothing but flats for the past 10 years---an occasional 2" heel boot during the winter (that’s about 2 months a year here in Southern Calif). So, I think that when I get accustomed to wearing heels again, my ankles won't be tired at the end of the day. Also, I’m not sure about the military style. I would like them better without so many buttons. They do, however, draw attention. I can’t say if this is negative or positive attention. You do need the right wardrobe for these. If I hadn't worn them out, I probably would have returned them, only because I now have to add clothes styles to my wardrobe that will work with the boots. Poor me! I have to buy more clothes!
