Too clunky, poor design - I usually wear a size 8, but I read that Frye recommends going up a half size. I did that, and the boot was too large. It was also too stiff, with minimal arch support, and almost no padding on the insole. I must have slender calves because the shaft of the boot was also much too loose - even with the buckle strap to cinch it in. And speaking of buckle strap, the straps were only glued (not stitched) and one of the lower straps had already started to split apart. There was really nothing about this boot that tempted me to try the smaller size.

The toe compartment was unbelievably small and tight across my foot, then my heel would slip from the back. They were the right size, so I was surprised when it didn't work out. I love the style and I'm disappointed.

These were horrible on me. I couldn’t shove my foot into the bottom of the boot without willful force. Once I got it on my foot it was so extremely tight and uncomfortable, it felt like I ordered 3 sizes too small. I don’t own any “wide” shoes, even though my feet are borderline, and these were SO narrow and tight. I didn’t even question if I wanted to put on the other and walk around in them. HORRIBLE.

This is the boot that I wanted! Without a doubt...I read all the reviews and was so excited to receive them. Very prompt. When I tried them on, it felt like my right sock was bunching after I slipped my foot down in the boot. What I discovered was a small piece of tape on the instep. So I removed it. Unfortunately, under the tape was a small arrow shaped hole. So, I called customer service, and they were very apologetic. She ordered a new pair to replace the defective ones right away. The second pair arrived the next day and round two was worse. The right boot had a 'chip' of coloring missing from the top tip of the boot. You couldn't not notice it. And upon further inspection of the same boot, there was a 'slit' or gouge on the outside molding near the inside at the back near the heel. Talk about disappointed! Both boots went back to Zappos and I placed an order from Nordstroms. Service was great, quality of product, leaves a lot to be desired.

I have never been so disappointed in a pair of boots! I coveted these Veronicas for a couple of years before finally deciding to cough up the enormous amount of money they cost because I had a pair of similar (much cheaper) boots of another brand that I wore constantly and they finally wore out. I figured if I wore them so much, it would be worth the money for a pair of Fryes that should last years and years. I'm so frustrated because I've worn them many times and they still hurt my feet immensely - from the flat and uncomfortable foot bed to the blisters they give me on my heels. I've tried and tried to break them in and they're still so uncomfortable 9 months later. This is unforgivable in a shoe that cost so much, but since I've used them, I can't return them and it's been a huge waste of money! I wish I could say I loved them, but I'm sad to report they are just awful. Will never risk Frye again.

Fuming mad! Okay, so let me preface this by saying that I love Frye boots. I have two other pairs that are truly amazing so I didn't think twice about the quality of this boot. However, this boot is cheaply made. I was unemployed for the best part of this year but my treat/reward when I did get a job was to buy myself these gorgeous boots. Fast forward to new job! Woo hoo, time for boots. I had these babies in my Zappos cart for months, so bam! Ordered...totally excited. I received my boots and they were so pretty. Now, after a mere five wearings they look bad. Mind you I am not a rough and tumble hiker or poop-kicker - just an average office gal. I bought the dark brown and they appear to have some cheap leather veneer that literally tears or chips when scuffed or slightly stressed. So, now I have a big white chip on the back of one heel and numerous white scuffs on my toe. Normally I'd write it off, get a little polish out, and move along but any boot that costs this much and looks bad after five mellow wearings really chaps my hide. No pun intended. Bottom line: These are incredibly comfortable, cute but terribly made.

Very beautiful and comfortable boot. Runs quite narrow, I imagine the leather will stretch out over time and it will fit nicely. I have another pair of Veronica boots in the same size, and they are much wider.

A little too much slouchy with the respect to the picture but they are very nice and fit really well. They make my socks go down sometimes but I still have to break them in completely.

Very comfortable and good-looking boots. I've had these for over five years. If you're going to spend a few hundred bucks on boots, they better last. Frye boots do. You can wear them to the barn, the office, and the bar.

Ok, glad I read the reviews about these or I would have sent them back, even though I loved them. I'm a true size 7 but these fit so weird at first. Toe box felt snug but heel kept lifting up in the back. I figured "well that's just a set of blisters waiting to happen so no go" but, as one reviewer pointed out (thanks!), these need a breaking in period. Since they are slip on/off the heel is looser at first, but conforms to your ankle as you wear them. I didn't get blisters, or anything, they just stopped slipping. Gorgeous slouchy look--I wear them with everything. Even the *guys* at the tattoo shop approve, so the bada** factor is on point. Get these!

I usually wear a 7 but the 7 ½ was a perfect fit. I have a bit of a wide foot and these fit with a thinner sock. I’m sure they will also stretch out a bit over time over time.

Comfortable. No break in period needed. Wore all day twice within first days of receiving them. Great for wide feet that usually hurt a lot!
