I am returning these sandals today because my son says the back of them are too low and they always feel like they are falling off. They are not an open sandal style in the back.

I bought these for my 12 year old son to wear to scout camp. Fantastic purchase! They have the closed toe box and tread needed for rugged outdoor activities while having the ease and comfort of a sandal.

What happened? We've bought Keen sandals for our 5 yr old for the last couple years. They were great for the water park and as a casual summer shoe. This year was different. What others are saying about the smell is accurate. Once wet with water or sweat, the smell is awful. Also, the dye ran and our little one had blue dye on his feet, even under his toenails. Not acceptable. We will be looking for a different brand.

These looked and felt great. But after 2 months of my 9-year-old wearing them every day, they smell so bad you can smell him before you can see him. Foot smell has never been a problem for him otherwise, including for other brands (Timberland) of similar sandals he has worn in the past. We've tried putting the shoes through the washing machine, scrubbing them with vinegar, foot sprays -- nothing works. Maybe we're supposed to be more intentionally airing them out every night, but how much maintenance do you want to do for a 9-year-old's footwear? Not likely to buy Keen again.

Unhappy with these not because they don't fit well(my son has high instep, so good fit is hard to find) but because these sandals stink bad once the foot sweats and this smell is hard to get out of the sandals and out of the feet(I have to soak his feet). And we've never had that issue before!

My son loved these sandals when I gave them to him. My mistake was sending him off to camp for a week in them before letting him wear them around the house first. But I did only get them the day before he left. His feet were covered in blisters when I got to camp to pick him up and were very sore. I got the right size for him. But these are not good for running around in all day.

These are wonderful sandals in lots and even most ways. The one huge negative thing about them is that when my daughter wears them the sandals make her feet sweat profusely. The rubber sole and the rubber that wraps up and over the toes does not allow enough air to cool her feet. We got them for her to wear every day this summer but every time her feet become very wet (up at her toes) that she has to take them off. Isn't anyone else having this problem??? I was going to buy myself a pair but now I'm not....I am giving only one star because even if they are made great and look great how is she supposed to enjoy wearing them?
