Nice but a little harder then normal Teva's - I liked these but sadly returned... Although the arch support was great- they were not as cushy as normal Teva's. Tread is good and I can see where the strap would be instantly comfortable... But they weren’t for me....

Go with a smaller size - I haven't yet had the opportunity to really road test my Teva Elixer shoes, but I am pleased with the look and the fit. As recommended by several other reviewers, I went with a size smaller than my normal shoe size and the fit is perfect. They remind me of 4x4 flip flops :)

ELIXER THREE STILL PREVAILS - ELIXER 5 IS OK overall sizing seems a little on the big side. The ELIXER 3 has a much better foot bed over the ELIXER 5 as far as comfort. WE PREFER THE ELIXER THREE HANDS DOWN!!!!

Expensive but functional - These thongs have good grip and are contoured for comfort and support. They don't "mold" to your foot like the Tevas I was replacing; however, and they are a little "floppy" in the fit...but once I got used to them, they're fine although a little pricey.

Good everyday shoe - The shoe wasn't as comfortable as the Dozer model because it was sized bigger. Good traction and some arch support.

Great flip flops - Very comfortable and secure feeling flip flops...easy to walk in. They run a bit wide which is good for me but would only be a problem if your foot is super narrow. I would love it if they made this shoe or something similar in a slightly prettier, more feminine version because it is definitely sporty all the way.

Great sandal for my husband! The sandal was too wide for my medium/narrow width foot. A little too bulky-looking for my taste. We gave it 4 stars because my husband loves it!

Gave them to a friend - Fit too tight across the top of foot, have to have a narrow foot.

Comfort and support plus - This "flip-flop" is a whole lot more: sturdy, supportive and comfortable. Great heel support. Terrific for lots of walking without fatigue.

Pretty good thong - Got 2 of these, one for me and one for my husband (who has narrow feet -- B width -- he often has to get women's models for sneakers and other casual shoes). Both of us like them a lot. Very comfortable, except that the strap between the toes is typical Teva webbing, which tends to be quite stiff until it's gotten wet a few times. There's enough support across the top of the foot that this thong won't be flying off all the time, and the footbed is comfortable too.

Too wide and doesn't come in my size. Sent back. I ordered a 10 medium. Was too wide and a bit too long. Sent back and wanted to order a 9 1/2 narrow, but it doesn't come in that size.

Great shoe - I would recommend a breaking in period since I walked about 3 miles the first time out and got a few blisters! Since then they've been great!

Too Wide - Great arch support, but strap too wide. Mine foot is between a narrow and a regular width. Returned the shoe. Still looking for something with arch support in a sandal.

Maybe it's just me, but these shoes do NOT fit as nicely as the original Elixer. They still don't come in half sizes, which is always tricky for me and seems to be the biggest problem with the Elixer, especially the Elixer 5. I ordered the sandal in a size 8 based on the size of my original pair. Huge, HUGE difference in size! A while back, I had ordered the Elixer 5 in a size 9 - (not from Zappos) which I intended to send back, but before I could, Bigfoot, my sister, fell in love with them, so I gave them to her. Now I'm in a quandry. To give up on the Elixer or to wear for a while and hope they "stretch" a bit. I really like the style, the look of this shoe, but I'm not sure they will work for me. I like the lighter color material used for the sole of the shoe (on the tan ones), but I don't particularly like the inside pattern. The old style Elixer had a smoother finish except for the area near the thong, which defined the toe section and actually functioned as a sort of metatarsal pad. And here I am, still pondering whether to keep this shoe or not.

Disappointed - I have had the Elixer 3 for several years, and was very disappointed in the "new model." It does not have the cushy layer that the Elixer 3 had, which made it so comfortable.

What happened?? I have the Elixer 1, 2, 3 and 4 and I love, love, love them. Perfect fit, extremely comfortable, cute colors. But the Elixer 5 is quite different. First of all I had to order down a half size, so the fit is not as instantly comfortable as the previous models. I can't say exactly why, but they just don't look as cute as the earlier models. Still, it is a superior flip flop -- it is really a shoe, with incredible arch support. I have kept all my old Elixer’s for spares gardening, by the pool, and even to work on hot summer days. I read some other reviewers who feel the same about the superiority of the earlier models. Teva, why did you change??

Pretty darn good flip flop - I love flip flops but can rarely find enough arch support. The Elixer is about the best I have found. I don't understand why the Elixer 5 runs so darn big. By at least a size smaller. Even so, they seem to be stretching out and flopping on my feet a bit. A snugger fit would make this a truly great flip flop.

Not as good as Tevas pool slides - I am a fast walker so it was too big and chunky for my narrow feet to get around quickly. Also, the strap between the toes was too skinny not as comfortable as the fat ones. I bought a pair of Tevas pool slides years ago. I should have bought ten pairs. They were the bomb! To my surprise my little thirty dollar flip flop had a flexible rubber sole with an ach support. It had a wide strap between the toes, like butter. It wasn't too big and weighty. They were perfect! Now, of course, they stopped selling them. Now everyone is jumping on the band wagon trying this out and selling them from fifty to a hundred dollars. It’s a shoe crime.

LARGER than marked! I am sure this would be a great shoe, but it is a full size larger than marked and very wide. I usually wear an 8 med width and these were huge. I am sure they will be fine once I get the size 7s back from my exchange. Width is still questionable. Arch support and squishy comfort are definitely there. Just beware on the size.

Nice-looking shoe - I have big feet, and this shoe felt great immediately. However, after wearing it for a couple of weeks, it flops on my foot. At my age, I don't need anything that would cause me to fall. Unfortunately for me, this shoe turned out to be a disappointment.

Not enough cushion.

Teva Elixer 5 - I have loved the Teva Mush sandals for my summer walks, but I wanted to try something new. I ordered these shoes due to their great reviews. First of all, they are a bit masculine and bulky. I do not think that they are that comfortable and the arch support is minimal. I would of returned them, but I made the mistake of going outside for a walk in them! I will continue to wear them, but I would not recommend them to a friend, not for the price!

Disappointing shoe and I'm a longtime Teva customer - I initially gave this shoe a positive review, but I must retract that review and let the public know that this shoe is nothing like the previous Tevas I've owned. The footbed is hard with no shock absorbency; they are much larger than the stated size, little arch support. In the nutshell, my feet hurt having worn these for the past few summer months. I hope Teva will go back to there old design. Sadly, I recommended and purchased these for several friends and family members.
