Bought the narrow shoe. Fit is great. Only complaint is the raised Kinetic Air Circulator under the heel. Very uncomfortable and will have to replace the footbed. Otherwise happy with the shoe.

This shoe looks a little bulky and the finish is kind of dull. Shoes are a little stiff and need to be broken in which takes time and also results in the shoes looking worn, wrinkled and alot less dressy.

While not the dressiest, I like Rockport shoes for work assignments where I have to be on my feet for long periods. Rockport have a reputation for comfort. What I didn't notice about these was the "waterproof" designation. Though they have leather uppers, they don't seem to breathe well and feel a bit plastic-like on your feet. I suppose if you needed the waterproof bit, they'd be just the thing.

This is a nice looking shoe, but it does run narrower as compared to other Rockport styles. I wear a wide shoe (4e). I also purchased the Rockport Style Wise Wooster in 4e and that fits great. The Ellingwood in 4e seems to be narrower, but it may be that it is a squared toe. Also, the material used for the laces causes them to become untied easily.

These shoes are quite uncomfortable. The leather is very stiff and even though they look roomy, the width is narrow. The shoe is made well, but lacks comfort. I keep waiting for them to break in, but I've worn them on and off for a few weeks now and they still pinch and cramp my feet. When I wear them, I have to leave the laces loose, which creates a sloppy look at the instep. I weigh 135 pounds so my weight or size is not the problem. I took out the inner sole to see if comfort would appear; instead, the shoe buckled around the laces when I laced it up. Buying shoes, reputable brands no less, on-line is not a good idea and I probably will never do it again. I wasted money. Dan

The extra folded line in the front may hurt your feet while walking so be aware. That part gives the shoe an extra solid support. Overall the shoe looks so fancy but not for all feet unfortunately.

I was put on to this website by a friend and found it to be easy, effecient and resonably priced. The product arrived in good time and I am still breaking them in.

Stiffer than expected especially in the vamp/upper, so haven't broken in after about a month of wear. Finish looks more plastic than the pics but maybe because they are waterproof?

Painful - The Ellington was painful to break in. By the end of a 3 day trip - I could hardly walk. My last pair (the model this replaced) were ready to wear out of the box. Not sure where Rockport went wrong with this shoe.

Pinch - I had to pay my local shoemaker to stretch one of the shoes, which pinched my toe. Otherwise, and OK shoe.

Dissapointed in Rockport - Something has happened to Rockports. I have been wearing only Rockports for at least 10 years. They always fit beautifully and were extremely comfortable. There was no break-in period; one could wear them all day, immediately. This pair fits but it is requiring a long break in period. They are not particularly comfortable or cushioned and sometimes pinch. This is the second or third pair of Rockports, different style, for which I have had this experience. Reluctantly, I am going to have to find another brand.

Bad fit - I have a high instep and had difficulty getting into this shoe. I returned it. I did like the way it looked. I was knocked out by the service. I ordered the shoes (I ordered another pair and kept those) about 8:00 pm Thursday night and they arrived the next day. I couldn't believe it!

Disappointed - I’ve worn Rockports for many years and have generally been happy with the quality. Not true in this case. Fit was not consistent with other Rockports of the same size and style. The shoe did not have a high quality look and finish. Comfort was much below what I have come to expect from Rockport. I’ve heard the quality issue comment from others regarding recent Rockport shoes.

Not at all comfortable

I've owned numerous pairs of Rockports, but never this style, and I found the tops of these shoes, and way they bend when walking, to be exceptionally painful to the tops of my feet. They fit perfectly size wise, but they're unwearable!

I was really disappointed with these shoes. I had always had good luck with Rockports, but these shoes are quite uncomfortable. Let's face it - Rockport is not the most stylish brand. Their designs are almost always clunky. But they always had their comfort going for them until these shoes. These shoes have made my feet hurt like no other pair I've ever owned. In addition to uncomfortable soles and no support, the shoe itself is inflexible and just bad. Probably the last pair of Rockports I'll buy.

Looks better than it feels - I lost money on this purchase. I have worn Rockport in the past and they have proven to be comfortable, but not this time. I don't know why, but I cannot wear these shoes. They seem to be comfortable when I put them on, but after just a short time of wear they cause my feet to hurt and my legs to feel tired. I thought I just needed to break them in, but I have returned to wearing my old shoes and my new shoes are sitting in my closet. I would not purchase another pair of these shoes. I was very impressed by the quick delivery and service of Zappos but very disappointed in my shoes.

Least comfortable Rockports I own - These shoes pinch the small toes when walking to the point of being quite painful by the end of the day. This is my 4th pair of Rockports and I've been very pleased until now.

I generally walk about two miles a day in my work shoes and have been a loyal Rockport customer till these shoes. I have a wide foot and have been in Rockports for over 10 years. May be my feet/body construct, but I tore my meniscus in these shoes in June. Encountered knee pain and popping cracking of knees. Required surgery in June. Swore off these shoes and put a two year old pair of Allen Edmonds on today. Knee pain dissipated today. Can't recommend these shoes. Zappos has been great through the issue. Tore my other meniscus in Nikes and swore off that brand in 1990. Unfortunately I am not sure I can ever return to your shoes. Oh well. Live and learn.

Poor Rockport - I'm a Rockport fan, normally the most comfortable shoe made. I realized now that their dress shoes are not so good. Pressure on top of foot, loud squeak when walking, run tight, poor circulation and feet get hot. Rockport has the best casual & business casual around, no question. The dress shoes probably could get out of that line of shoes in my opinion. Be careful in buying their dress shoes as they seem to have the same negatives as the Ellingwood. Honest input from someone who is not that picky.

Poor - Read This... SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK... I’m a fan of Rockport, but they need to get out of the dress shoe business. I tried a pair of their dress shoes a year ago, same major squeak problem. I had thought maybe it was the rubber on the floor. Nope, as on carpet just as bad. They squeak so loud that they are literally un-wearable. Rockport is THE best with casual, business casual, boat shoes etc... but something about a certain type of leather they use on the more dressy shoes or those that carry a bit of a shine makes them squeak badly where it calls peoples attention. You've been warned!
