A nice pair... Great sandal enjoys clean lines, simple buckle detail and great wearability. The pearlized white (more of a soft oyster) is complementary to a wider color pallette than a traditional white. Happy spring!

A long footbed but that's OK too - I love the pearly not too white color and the simple upscale Dr. Scholl's look. This is my first pair of Birks. I ordered my regular size and then returned them for a size smaller. But with this shoe a longer footbed would be fine also for most, but with my almost narrow size 8 feet and short toes, the medium size 7 fit better.

Slim line and great color! Fits much like the Catalina, but has a much slimmer appearance and is more flattering to the foot. I love the metallic gold - it goes with everything.

Birks live up to expectations - The Madrid is one of my favorite Birkenstock styles. They do not produce this shoe every year so whenever they surface, I buy a pair. This is the 3rd pair I have owned in this style since 1980.

comfy and clunky - This shoe was wonderfully comfortable from the moment I put it on still cold from the delivery truck. The only downside is that I wish it weren't quite so clunky looking - but then it wouldn't have all that support all the way around my foot, I guess. These will replace my rubber flip flops as my dear feet are now needing more support. I ordered a half size smaller than usual and it fits.

Great-looking Birk... have received lots of compliments, and they feel as good as they look. This shoe even won over my stilleto-wearing friend who claimed she would never wear Birkenstocks. Excellent service from Zappos.

The best birk I ever bought ! This sandle was a great buy. It fit well and didn't require a lot of break in wearing. After the second time it felt great and I'm ready to buy another coclr.

I absolutely loved these shoes but I ordered the size I normally wear 5-5/1/2 and they felt a full size larger.They don't make them smaller, so I had to return them. They are exactly as pictured!

Very comfy and cute. I am typically a 7.5 or 8 and the recommended 38 fits perfectly. Birkenstocks are something to get used to- if you have never worn them, you might notice that the molded bottom of the shoe feels like its in the wrong place relative to your foot- but they end up molding to where they need to be. I DO wish the strap was real leather; it looks fine now but down the line I would imagine it won't last as long or age as nicely as leather would. That is my only minor complaint!

These are very cute with a slimmer profile. They do run smaller than the standard Birkenstocks. Though they are very comfortable for slides they are not as comfortable or supportive as the standard Birkentock sole.

I'm returning these. I don't want to be wearing bold black advertising for Birkenstock. I love my black Arizona Birkenstocks. So disappointing.

Comfort - This sandal is what I needed for my arch support I was having problems with my heal and my physical therapist recommended these sandles. I do not like wearing sneakers or any closed shoes during the summer and she told me if insist in wearing any sandles to buy this brand for the support. I wear them every day.

Very Feminine Birkenstock - It has the simple, casual look of a beach sandal but the metallic gold leather dresses it up. My husband says they look great! However, since there's only one strap and it's quite wide, these Birkenstocks are taking me longer to break in than my Florida and Granada pairs which both have narrow straps. I chose the Madrid in exchange for a pair of narrow strapped Ibiza's which cut into the top of my feet where they bend, even more so than these Madrids. I tend to have sensitive feet because of 2 bunionectomies years ago. When you get Birkenstocks make sure you have the arch support centered on your arch even if you think they look a bit big. You're suppose to have quite a bit of space in front of your toes and at your heel. The more you wear them them more they'll mold to your foot.

This was such a cute sandal. Unfortunately, for me, it didn't fit properly. I usually wear a 40 Regular in Birkenstock. It was offered in 40 Narrow, at the time of purchase. I read a review and it said that it fit for that particular person, so I went for it, but this didn't work out for me. When I was walking around the house, it felt like it wasn't on my foot securely. It felt like I was wearing skies and that I had to position my foot every time I stepped. It was awkward. I want a sandal where my foot won't move and is in place. I don't want to worry about my steps as there are other things to worry about. Such a shame because they were so cute. Length was good, but like I said, my foot kept moving side-to-side and back and forth and twisty. I did, however, get the Arizona watercolor Abstract tulip one in a 40 Regular and they fit perfectly!! So, I'm still happy. I love the non hassle return from Zappos, so I will be back when I need some other type of shoe.

Birkenstock person - Since this is a popular color this season, I was thrilled to see that Birkenstock carried this color. This is the first pair I have of this style, it maybe my last, as they are not as comfortable as my other Birks. If you have them too loose, they fall off, and if you put them one hole tighter, the buckle and leather digs into your foot. I'm determined to make them work, but beware they don't fit like other birk stlyes.

Not the best Birk I've ever purchased - They look like they would be cute, but I found them more klunky then other styles and because of the lack of support, they would not make great walking shoes. Over all, I think Mephisto makes a better shoe.

Great look, but not as comfy as other styles - I have been wearing Birkenstock's for years and was excited to try the Madrid in gold metallic. I was disappointed when I tried them on and found that the strap cuts into the top of my foot, just above where the toes connect. I am returning this shoe to try a different Birk style.

I really wanted to love this shoe, especially after reading mostly positive reviews. I have another pair of Birkenstocks that were comfortable out of the box but can't really be dressed up with an outfit. I thought I'd give these a try. I think it is the way the weight of your foot is distributed across one strap, but this shoe hurts the top of my foot. I thought maybe I needed a few days to break them in, but today was the 7th time I was wearing them on a short walk, and after 10 minutes, the top of my foot began to hurt. I was trying on another pair of Birkenstocks today in a local store (it had two straps), and I could instantly tell the difference in comfort. The salesperson informed me that the Madrid was the original Birkenstock model and was used as an exercise sandal since you need to use toe grip strength to keep the shoe on. While that is all fine and good, this shoe is not fun to wear. The white glitter is pretty, and I've gotten plenty of compliments about how cute they are. But I think these will only be shoes to wear to take out the garbage and recycling, as they are not comfortable to wear for walking anywhere longer than 5 minutes (even taking the dog out to walk is kind of tedious - and my dog walks slowly). The width is typical Birkenstocks - if you have a regular to slightly wide foot, the footbed will accommodate. I always size down one size with Birkenstocks, and it works out. Sad that these did not work out. I've worn them a few times, so I won't return them. Maybe they will break in someday?

I love Birkenstocks and own many pair. However, these were way to unstable, very "flip-floppy" when I walked with them. I had to return but def ordering another pair of Birkenstocks and LOVE the Zappos service.

This is not about Birkenstock, but about Zappos. I received the shoe today and it has been worn: The insole is not new and the sole of the shoe is dirty. I will return it.
