The shoe look good and feels very good, but it should wear better. The sole on on the shoe at the toe was not long enough on my last 2 pairs. As a result the toe actually wears out way too soon since it is not protected by the front part of the sole!

I recently purchased the (classic) Pinch Tassel Loafer. The quality of materials, construction and workmanship was NOT as I expected from the "iconic" Cole Haan Brand. My new Cole Haan shoes were manufactured in Asia. If the cost of labor and assembly/fabrication is less expensive in India, I'm OK with that business decision... but the quality of materials and construction have been noticeably cheapened. Maybe I received a faulty pair of shoes?... but I would not feel comfortable (now) recommending Cole Haan shoes to friends and family. ******* BACKGROUND: I am 61 years old. I purchased my first pair of Cole Haan Loafers as a college student 40+/- years ago. As a young working man 25-30+/- years ago, I purchased 4 more pairs of kilted and/or tasseled Cole Haan Loafers. I still have (and wear) my 25-30 year old loafers.

The toes are a huge problem as they roll down when you walk and wear a crease in the leather and wear the polish off. Also, it is next to impossible to buy a pair of Cole Hanns in a narrow (B) width. Cole Hann has lost its quality for sure. Now, we have to go to Allen Edmons for a nice quality pair of shoes.

I really like the fit and looks of this shoe and purchased at least three pairs over the years. The problem with the current design is that the sole is too short at the toe. The soles on most high-end loafers extend slightly beyond the toe of the upper. That way when one occasionally stubs their toe on a hard surface (believe me it's easy to do on an uneven sidewalk), the sole, not the upper, sustains the scraping impact--the upper is left undamaged. With these shoes, the impact is taken by the upper. Twice, I have stubbed the toe of the upper putting an ugly permanent divot in the toe that cannot be polished over. The second time was 10 minutes after I put them on for the first time. Ouch! I've not had this problem with any other high-end tassel loafer I've owned.

Good looking shoe, very comfortable. Easy slip off and on for TSA security. Only complaint is soles don't last long. I wore holes in two pair in about one year of periodic use for work.

I was very disappointed. The shoes are smaller and narrower than indicated. The leather is so stiff and glossy like patent leather. A very poor value.

While these black tassel loafers fit, the shoes looked like patent leather. Will return. Bought identical pair from another website and the same issue. It's a Cole Haan issue. Very very disappointing.
