These are my second pair of Matai. If they came in more colors, I’d buy them all. Comfortable, really attractive, and - comfortable! And I met the designer who shared the story of the design.

I ordered the next size and I will compare my regular 8 to 8 1/2 size to the 9 size I ordered. The strap seems a bit tight on the 8 size and my instep does not fit as well as I think it should. I hope the next size works otherwise, I will have to return both sizes.

These are beautifully made shoes. I really wanted to keep them. However, I knew I'd never wear them more than once. I already have a closet full of one wear shoes and can't afford another. Here were the problems and I'd like to emphasize that they are unique to me. The leather was so soft and wonderful that it couldn't give me the support I needed. Although the heel cups were supposed to be deep they weren't on my feet. Between the soft leather and lack of depth my feet continued to over pronate. Since I broke my ankle last year It's become essential that I have a deep and sturdy heel cup and stiffer leather to keep my foot stable. One shoe fit perfectly the other was about a fingertip too long and slipped up and down on my heel. The toe box was a touch too narrow. Someone else will love these shoes. too bad it won't be me.

Just right! After multiple foot surgeries, my right foot is an inch shorter than my left foot. To have a "pair" of shoes that fit me properly, I have to buy the same shoes in two different sizes. This gets quite expensive, so I have to be very picky to make sure the cost is worth it. The Naot Koru footbed used with the Matai and Arataki styles meets all my must-haves. These shoes not only fit, but also are the most comfortable and actually look good! I definitely recommend them.

I can fit 5 in these and that’s my size. I bought these in light green must be ten years ago and they are still my favorite shoes. They earned the price tag many times as I have worn this shoe hundreds if not a thousands of times and still get compliments. I feel like I should get another pair because they don’t look the worse for wear. I have read reviews and the metallic leather did not live up to comfort, but I’m torn. I like wearing interesting shoes because life is short. I love the fern sole on this shoe and it gives me joy. All in all a good flat Mary Jane style shoe that isn’t boring that you will wear around the house as much as out running errands or out for a casual night on the town. A go to shoe.

Fit was perfect, most comfortable shoes ever!

I have worn matais before and actually wore a pair out after 4 years. I have plantar fasciitis and Naots fit the best. I have no problems with my feet as long as I stick with naots and new balance. I get compliments on the mataiis as well. I also bought a pair of Toatoa's which fit much the same as the matais and are as comfortable. I just wish Naot would make toatoa in a half dozen more colors.

I need to add to my previous review that I have never had a strap break or a tear in the leather or suede. I have a number of these shoes, and that are all size 40. The heel cup is good for my narrow feet, and the spacing in the front is extremely comfortable. I have worn Naots for over 10 years, and there is no way that I am going back to cramped, miserable shoes. I regularly am. complimented for my "cute shoes"...even by 30-somethings (and this is not a diss..my children are in this age group.)

These shoes fit perfectly so I would rate them as "felt true to her size." I have "Morton's Neuroma" and needed a good supportive shoe and these were recommended by my orthopedist. Today I left the house and was out all day yet my feet felt great and looked great, I might ad. These shoes are quite virsatile and be dressed up or down. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great shoe from Naot , as usual. I wear a 6.5 and 37 is a very good fit. I love the smoke black/hash color and the contrasting details. I will be wearing these with socks in fall and winter even though they're mary janes. They're not as open and airy as a sockless summer shoe, for me. I'll just have to up my sock game as socks will be more visible.

I have Matai in black, silver and copper/burgundy. I was thrilled to see that the shoe now came in navy. The ink color is very dark navy, and the leather is pebbled. I have many other Naot styles, but Matai is the most comfortable enclosed style. I have a narrow foot, and this style tends to run rather narrow. There is no "breaking in"required. Completely comfortable when worn for the first time.

I love Naots. I've been wearing their sandals for years. Their shoes, however, tend to run a bit small. I usually wear a 9 and the 40 in these fit snugly, without socks. I'm thinking they will stretch a bit, so I'm going to keep this size, but if I wanted to wear socks, I'd go up to a 41. Great cushioning. Cute style, tho a little chunky.

I bought this shoe in 2011 and I am still wearing the original pair. Just this fall I bought a new pair of the matching replacement footbed inserts because the old ones were definitely wearing out a bit. Made the shoes feel brand new again. I can't say enough good things about these shoes! They feel custom made to my feet. I wear them for all the dry parts of the year (I live in New England). I usually wear an 8 1/2 or a 9 and the size 39 fits me perfectly (with peds or bare feet).

I bought these shoes because they were recommended to me by my sister. She teaches and so is on her feet most of the day, and she told me they were the most comfortable shoes she's ever had but yet are something you can wear with work clothes. I have found them to be so. The only thing I don't like is the strap being attached by velcro.

I am a 90 year old lady. I have had a pair of these shoes in green for several years and I like them so much that I got another pair in the metal color. I have bunions and they are very comfortable.

I love these shoes. I got the metallic color because most every other color was out of stock - but I ended up loving the color. They are comfortable and great looking.

I purchased these shoes because I needed a comfortable nice looking shoe that could go with pants & dresses and had some support. My feet were comfortable the whole day standing, running, and going up/down stairs at least 5 times a day. In general, I prefer a small (1.25" - 2.50") heel on my shoes but I was desperate & decided to try these shoes. I am glad I did. I wear a 7W depending on the shoe & the Naot Matai 37 fit me well. Due to foot issues, I need a decent support under the ball of my foot. I need a shoe with a sole deep enough to absorb the pounding on the pavement that is not too flexible (no "ballet" slippers for me). Even then, sometimes a shoe has hit my sweet spot for pain. Shoe buying is always an ordeal for me. I love my slides/mules but they are not stable enough for the steep stairs at work. I do get compliments on these shoes. I am still on the hunt for an attractive comfortable shoe that will give me some height. Every time I find something, it gets discontinued.

These are beautiful shoes, and super comfortable, right out of the box. They go great with office wear, casual out for the evening, or jeans. I love the slight shimmer to the purple leather.

I have bought the same shoes in black at our local store and wanted a pair in a brownish tone; I could not find them anywhere. Zappos came to the rescue! The brown/burgundy look great, feel great (perfect to my size) and I am constantly receiving compliments.

I am completely "sold" on Naots - this is my 3rd pair. I just love this Matai shoe! They are eye-catching to say the least, and they are also heaven for my feet. The more I wear them, the better they feel. It must be the cork sole construction, adjustable strap (I have very high arches) and generous anatomically-shaped toe box. I wear these for dress and with jeans. I am now "sold" on Naots - this is my 3rd pair and I'll be back for more. I love Zappos too.

Naot makes an extremely comfortable shoe for anyone with fallen arches or sore feet. There is great support and a well-cushioned footbed. While the style is not your typical flat, they are fairly attractive with jeans and I have received compliments on these shoes. Overall I have really enjoyed wearing these shoes.

These are spectacular shoes and I heartily recommend them. The first day I wore them I walked all over Washington D.C. without a problem. No break in necessary! I found that they fit true to size, despite many of the reviews that seemed to indicate that they ran big. They can be dressed up or down and can be taken anywhere. These shoes from Naot receive my highest recommendation!

I've had the Matai shoes about a month now, and I love them more every day. I've long bought Ecco loafers for work, and have a few pairs of Clarks. The Naots are a step beyond.

I have a new favorite brand of shoe. I bought 1 pair of Naot sandals and knew I had to have more. I now have 4 pairs of Naot shoes. These shoes are super comfy, cut and even though expensive, very much worth every penny. They do run true to size. I am a size six and ordered to their suggestion of ordering a size 5 and they are perfect. My feet are not tired after wearing them all day and even though my feet swell throughout the day they shoes felt great.
