I live in the foot hills of the Adirondack Mountains and our access road is usually ice covered from mid December until late March. Two years ago, I was walking on the ice, in a rush and didn't put on my Yak Trax which resulted in a fall the resulted in a fractured rib. Not only do I wear them now, I got a pair for my wife. If you live in the North and deal with a lot of ice, they're worth every penny.

I purchased YakTrax this last weekend. My partner and I went to Starved Rock State Park for our 10 year anniversary. We did not realize that it was so icy and you basically could not do any hiking. The stairs getting to the trails were just covered in ice and way to slippery and dangerous. We saw another couple with the YakTrax and they highly recommended them. We purchased them and they were game changers. We were able to hike around the park without any hesitation. We saw a lot of people turning around because they were slipping so badly on the ice. When we saw people in just boots we would recommend purchasing the YakTrax since they SAVED our trip.

These give me the confidence to walk my dog all winter long. Without these I would be afraid to walk down my driveway. I have now given these as gifts. I see that my neighbors who are avid walkers also each have a pair.

I found out about YakTrax from a friend in Seattle and they're a game-changer! Lots of the trails in Colorado are snowy and icy this time of year and our YakTraks make it so much easier to get outside.

Only way to walk safely in the snow! I once walked about a mile home on sheer black ice, only with the help of these!

Easier to put on than the last ones I had. I love the strap across the top of my boot so I don't lose them.

Used these in the Grand Canyon Bright Angel Trail a couple of weeks ago. They worked great in snowy and icy trails, we didn't even realize how well they worked until we saw others without them moving at a snails pace! Felt very secure even on inclines. They did need to be occasionally adjusted but it was not a big deal, maybe once every hour-ish. They are easy to take off and put on if the terrain switches, and lightweight to carry and clip onto your pack without issues. Highly recommend.

I have been using YakTrak for about 10 years now. They won't save you on black ice and they are slippery on tile. But they are wonderful for running trails that are slippery and snow covered in winter. People would ask me how I can run on the snow in sneakers and were always amazed by these awesome trax. I don't run anymore and I wear something warmer than a sneaker but I still love them when taking a winter walk on slippery, hard, snow packed trails. I watch others struggle to keep their feet on the trails and I show them the bottom of my shoes and say, "Have you ever heard of Yaktrax?" Great invention.

Living in Wyoming with reduced balance and icy roads to walk my dog. This product gave me the confidence to get back out and walk on the ice and snow. Thanks for keeping me active in my 60's, Yaktrax.

My wife and I live in Northern Illinois and we've been having freezing rain and ice storms on top of snow since January 2nd. I'll always remember that date because I slipped and fell on black ice in my driveway dislocating and breaking the ulna in my left elbow, putting me out of work for a few months and all but eliminating use of my left arm for the duration. An extraordinary number of our friends and coworkers have fallen on ice recently. About half have broken bones and there's more freezing rain predicted for tomorrow. I'm from Arizona and was not acquainted with the problem so I decided to do something before I fall a third time (the second fall was a painful setback for the broken elbow). My wife was born and raised up here and assumed that cumbersome spiked boots were the only products available. Fortunately, she was wrong.
The Woodstock Farm and Fleet had the Yaktrax Pros on sale so I bought us both a pair. Then, using only my left arm, my roof shingle scraper (which btw is far better than the ice chopper) and my new Yaktrax Pros, I was able to safely stand on and scrape off the thick, glare ice on the steeply sloped street entrance of my driveway. Prior to that it had been too dangerous for me, too thick for salt and treacherous for anyone parking on the street to walk on.
One of thei really cool features is that you can leave them on while you're driving and walk up wood or concrete steps--even icey ones--to get in and out of the house. It is easier to take off the boots than the Yakrax, especially for a one armed man.
My wife was skeptical at first but having use them, she's telling all her friends and relatives, just like I've been doing...

Amazingly, these things really work! I no longer slip on icy or snow packed sidewalks. They are a bit tricky to put on and I highly recommend letting them warm up to room temperature to make it easier to put on and to prevent the silicone from tearing.

I can't hike without these gizmos come winter here. They have saved my butt more than once. However, I am not great at storing my gear in an organized way so I managed to lose the Velcro strap that helps to keep the Yaktrax on my boots. The company does not sell them separately BUT they have cheerfully replaced the strap. I love this product so much that I have bought it for 3 friends so they can hike with me! No more excuses!

Love the over the foot strap. The original style, while great on ice, would often pull out when walking in deeper snow. The strap certainly helps. These make traversing icy sidewalks a snap.

I keep these in my car here in Utah. We got stuck. I slapped these on and felt like I had ice spikes on. I pushed that car right out! Insane grip!

I'm a Paramedic in the northeast and can't fall in icy winter conditions. Not an option. I've had the same pair of Yaktrax Pro for 10 years and this year I decided to treat myself to another spare pair. Highly recommended for durability and performance.

I discovered these 4 or 5 years ago. So impressed, I bought $400 worth to give to friends & family at Christmas. My daughter used them immediately to jog in snow/ice. She has been using the same pair since-just recently in Portland Oregon's heavy snow (Jan 2017). I use mine to walk 1-2 miles each time it snows(not every year). I feel very safe wearing them. I saw YakTrax selling at the Tigard, Oregon Costco in November, where I bought n extra pair to keep in my car.. If wearing hiking boots, buy a size larger, because they can be difficult to stretch in place.

Recently purchased this product in prep for an outing on the snow. Used it on snow, ice, and slush and kept me and my son safe. Allowed me to feel safe on the snow and enjoy my time outdoor.

I love these! I use them to run in the northeast winter weather. If you use them properly, only on snow and ice...not pavement, they can last for years. My last pair lasted for over 5 years! I don't have to worry about slipping while running and love that it gets me outside.
I'd also recommend:
I also have IceTrekkers and love them as well, less rubber but will rust if you don't rinse and dry
