Love 'em! I love these boots! They're my first pair, but certainly not my last. I get compliments on them everywhere I go, and I can wear them anywhere with anything! The red color is great too...subtle but there. Super comfortable- I can wear them all day and my feet will be fine. The break in period (about 2 weeks) is a bit painful but definitely worth it! :)

Love 'em! It's a commitment to lace these up but they are the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever worn. I bought them for the tread thinking they'd be good on ice and they are... and good on snow and very comfortable. Love the red color too.

Awesome! Love them! They are classic! I found the reviews below so helpful, and I would like to add two things. First, if you wear a half size, I recommend moving down to the previous whole size. I normally wear 6.5, yet ordered UK4/US6 and it fits me so well. I can still tuck in my skinny jeans, too. Second, if these are your first Dr. Martens pair, I recommend getting Dr. Martens Wonder Shoe Balsam as well. You can get it here at Zappos. I had to order them separately, and what was truly amazing about Zappos was that it offered free shipping to little-shoe-polish! Thanks you, Zappos! I always enjoy shopping here :)

I recommend you grab some - I love them! I can't wait to break in my martens more. The tongue is kind of annoying, but if you tie them tight enough it stays. They don't allow so much movement (they might once broken in). I kind of feel like I'm marching when I walk in them, but I love them. I can't wait for the rain and snow to wear them more.

Classic! These boots are classic! I wanted them back in high school and college but was too poor to afford them. After forgetting about them over the last decade, I finally got myself a pair of Docs, and I love them! Unfortunately, I had to get them elsewhere and pay more, because I really wanted the cherry red ones, and Zappos didn't have them. :( I still love Zappos, though, and I like the black ones too, as they are more versatile... If only I can afford to buy both! I am a 10N in women’s shoes, so the unisex Docs were way too wide for me. The UK8 1914W fits me nicely, as long as I lace them tight. I've got some extra room for my toes, but that's fine. Breaking them in wasn't too bad. The key is to lace them nice and tight, so they conform to your ankles. Otherwise, they fold and dig in. Oh yeah, and the Wonder Balsam helps soften the leather too.

Glad I bought them - I bought these boots for my teenage daughter after she saw them on the Doc Martens website. No retailer in our area carried them, and she desperately wanted to try them on. So after finding Zappos easy return policy, we ordered them. She hasn't worn any other shoes since! She feels like a rock star in them, loves the way they feel, and gets compliments.

Docs - Though Docs do need to be broken in, once they do, they wrap around the foot with softness, as well as protects with sturdiness.

Doc Marten boots - I love my Doc Marten boots. The fit is good and I can stand or walk for hours without my feet hurting. The only flaw is the tongue is not attached to the side of the boot, so it readily slips to one side. This isn't particularly uncomfortable, but it's an annoyance.

These boots are incredibly comfortable and fit well. The style is a really fun jolt of punk that not intimidating. They make me feel like I can kick butt and take names, which was what I wanted. Loads of compliments. It would be fives all across except for a few small issues and the breaking in process left me with pronounced blisters over my Achilles tender. I had to put duct tape (better than moleskin) on the back of my ankle while I was breaking them in to keep the blisters down. Went away after about a week of continual use, but don't make your inaugural trip a long hike or it will be in some major ouch. I have short wide calves (I'm a size 14 womans) and there are gaps at the top of the boot between the tongue of the boot and the side when the boots are fully laced. It's a style issue rather than comfort. The laces are too short and they don't lace all the way to the top. Again, maybe a fat person issue, but finding new laces annoyed me.

These boots are so cute! They are very stiff when you first wear them. I have worn them only a few times and already they are loosening up. Just like other reviewers have said, they are a little larger than their stated size. I normally wear a 7½, so I ordered the 7 and they are perfect. The only negative that I have discovered from wearing these boots is that the stitching where the tongue is sewn onto the boot folds back while I put on the boots. This is extremely uncomfortable and I have to stuff my fingers into the boot and hold the stitching flat so I can insert my foot without it folding back. This is difficult to do, so it is an ordeal to get these boots on and have them feel comfortable. I hope that this will self-correct as the boots are worn more.

I love them, they are gorgeous leather and very comfortable. I wish they had a side zipper. They are a pain to unlace and re-lace. But they are perfection, otherwise.

Nice boots!!! The only issues I have- The cords are short and the tong moves around easily. Sizing can vary greatly between Doc Martens models.

Frankly, these reviews are confusing. Reviewers claim these run large; the pair I purchased for my daughter for Christmas cut off the circulation to her feet before she even tied them! And I didn't even size down, as many suggested! And why, if these run so large, do they require "breaking in?" Sounds like there should be plenty of room, without painful blisters, but this is not the case. We will try again with the next size up; thank goodness for free shipping both ways. I fear this will take a few tries.

I have these. fairly disappointed. The quality has gone downhill compared to the DM loafers I had. The leather on these is thin, seems plastic and scratches. Also the zipper broke in less than a year. What I like about DM's is the sole - they are really solid for me because I use them to ride my scooter in all weather. Too bad the upper is poor quality.

Very disappointing. I ordered this boot and had heard that the quality had really gone downhill compared to the Dr. Martens that were made years ago. These are made of a material that is very plastic and cheap, in my opinion. I'll be sending them back.

These are some seriously sturdy boots. The leather is slick, but not shiny enough to look gaudy. Being as tough as they are, they do need quite a lot of time to break in, though. I wore mine daily for a week before I needed to sprint half a mile. I ended up with a hardcore blister. After another week or so they were fully broken in. They are also a pain to take off and lace back up, but once you get the hang of it, it is no big deal. They could use some better arch support, though. Just get one size too large and stick in some inserts. You will feel like you can tromp through a river of nails and broken bottles without a care.

Great boots! I'm still breaking them in. I wear them about once a week to work, where I mostly stand, and they are very comfortable to stand in all day. The soles are very supportive. The leather is nice and sturdy, so it will take patience to break in. I am wider in the ball of the foot area and narrow in the heels and these boots fit like a dream. Love them!

Cute boots! Love them with everything. Run a tiny bit big I would say. I'm an 8.5-9 (9 in boots) and had to return for an 8 but they are perfect with a lighter sock. Warm boot too. Comfortable out of the box...have not worn them for more than a few hours yet. Love!

I love my boots! Took a few days of pain to break in but I didn't take them off and wore thick wool socks. (And blister bandaids, which actually work). I am a size 8.5- 9 and went for the UK 7 and they are not too roomy. I don't like my boots too tight. If I had gone down a size, I don't think they would have fit. My job is standing and walking around a restaurant all day and they are much better support than my Dr Marten sneakers.
