I love these shoes. Very comfortable. Great for many activities.

Most comfortable shoes ever

I bought these for my husband who needs good support and had a high arch. He bought other sandals that just didnt give him the support he needed. He LOVES the substantial sole, appreciates the arch support and they were roomy enough for his foot that is a bit odd after a broken bone never healed quite right. He usually wears between an 8.5 and 9 and these worked perfectly!

KEEN Arroyo II is THE BEST fitting shoe/boot/sandal I have ever worn. EVER!!! And, I've been wearing shoes/boots/sandals for 77 years. I have what's called a 'Greek foot'. My second toes are longer than the big toe. That has caused problems finding shoes/boots my entire life. I quit Nike & New Balance because their shoes/sneeks/boots are too pointy & even tho NB comes in an large array of widths they started to give me bunions! So I tried Merrell. Not quite boxy enough but I toughed it out for years until... one day I saw a foto of these KEEN Arroyo II & they looked really interesting. SO - Last spring I got a pair & while they were a bit tight with heavy socks I knew I'd finally found my shoes. Then, of course, the model went out of stock... but WHEW! FINALLY came back into production... AND this time I got a half size longer and OMG! They are PERFECT! In New Balance and Merrell I wore a 4E width. With these KEEN's the D-width is perfect because the leather flexes but DOES NOT get baggy. And, yes, even tho it sounds idiotic...they ARE WATERPROOF! I've hiked and walked in some pretty wet Alaskan weather and these shoes can take it. I don't climb around in creeks and rivers and lakes because I prefer to leave that habitat to the creatures intended for the aqua world... and don't want to carry invasive species around on my feet... BUT... wet grass, slushy spring snow on trails etc... no problem. The angles of the sole tread is really great... NO side-slipping! And, since my world is half winter in wet or icy slippery conditions that means a lot. ALSO, and HATS OFF to the designer team and production team... and whoever made the decision to be kind and gentle to human feets... BECAUSE this year they come with a MARVEL of an insole/orthotic/ARCH SUPPORT insert. Last year's model had a thin horrible insole so I had to go buy a softer pair. I read several reviews that mentioned how horrible those inserts were so I guess someone decided to 'fix' that. THIS insole stands alone as SUPERIOR!!! Mine have a cool message printed on them: "We're on a Journey to lighten our environmental impact. WALK the walk, and give back more than we take. Every step makes and impact. Consciously CREATED for a Better Planet." While I have to take it on faith that the production of these shoes is less impactful... gotta say... I wish i had two pairs of feet so I could buy another pair. My next hunt will be for KEEN Hiking boots that are pretty much like the Arroyo II >>> OPEN construction but with HIGHER ANKLE SUPPORT. Maybe they are out there but I havn't seen em yet. Oh, yeah... one more thing... The ancient Romans would have loved these shoes! Actually, they are pretty much 21st century roman shoes/boots. Great ideas can always be improved > even if it took 2000 years :) Thanks KEEN. PS > do buy these from Zappos!!! My first (slightly too small pair) were directly from Keen and because I live in Alaska (where you'd think KEEN might want to have happy customers) they would not take them back unless I paid the shipping which would have cost about $20.00. NOT great customer support! On the other hand Zappo's always comes thru with customer support and fast service etc.

I bought this for my husband to use in scout camp. He says it is very comfortable and loves it.

Perfect fit

The fit was perfect and comfortable to walk in, and love they are waterproof. Only one small negative is that one of the side straps on right foot base of the large toe had some abrasion from raised edge of strap causing small blister. I realize there is some break in necessary and I am using a small waterproof bandaid on that location, with eliminated the break in abrasion.

Excellent. Comfortable out of the box. Fit just like the Keen low hikers I have. Spacious at the ball of the foot, good arch support. Not the most open sandals, but they are what you see -- closed toe, vents on the side where air enters.

my second pair and I like them

I wear orthotics and it is hard to find a sandal that accepts them. The Arroyo II does and it makes them a perfect fit!

I have significant arthritis in my big toe joints (Hallux rigidus) and wear custom orthotics. I'd originally ordered the Targhee III sandal, but it's sole design and flexibility would aggravate my condition. I returned them and ordered the Arroyo II instead. The Arroyo II sandal is very supportive, less flexible, and allows for the use of the orthotics. Very comfortable and well-made. I could walk in them all day!

Glad to find a Keen sandal with removable insole. I use orthotics and they allow this sandal to be a perfect fit! Very comfortable right out of the box.

Great shoe for kicking around.

Fit and size were perfect, however the arch was a little too high for me, which made the shoes a little uncomfortable. Very well made.

I'm always between a 10 and a 10.5, so it just depends on the shoe itself as to what size I should I get. Shoes are super comfortable and well made. I returned these and got a half size smaller.

Well...sadly this is the most difficult review that I could write. I have been wearing these shoes since 2011. I needed some shoes to wear in hot weather...which for years I didn’t need living in Berkeley....I ran into this big guy at REI in the shoe department. He was getting a pair of these and told me he had worn them all over Europe for 3 months....everyday. We worn the same size and it was the last pair in stock. He insisted that a take the pair he had in his hands. I did. They changed everything. The best shoes ever. Now Keen has discontinued these shoes. I contacted Keen to confirm. I bought two pairs from Zappos and 2 pair from Amazon in the rust color. Get them while you can. Why do companies do this?

I have worn this model for around 15 years! Swim in them, hike and use them at work! My funky feet air out with these shoes. They last soooo long before I retire them. I do not want any other! I used a pair for over 10 years!!!

Zappos is my first stop for online shoes! This model of Keen Arroyo II has been a staple of mine until I wear them out with holes in the soles! I used them at work as an RN, and my feet stay well ventilated when we wear paper shoe covers at work. I swam in them.. I hike in them. Easy on and off. They wash well on gentle cycle. The most sellable attribute for me to repeat this brand purchase is: It takes 10-12 years for me to replace these due to wearing them out!!! Just purchased two pairs, and found they were on sale at this time! GF has also purchased her woes model! They are great utilitarian shoes! For extreme hiking I have-not tried their other high-top models as I am sold on a pair of leather high-tops from another brand! Great model over the Targhee model I didn't care for!

I love these sandals. They are comfortable, even after walking a good distance either in water or not. They have held up very well and I have let my wife know that I would really like another pair if she needs gift ideas. I am really happy with these.

I've gotten to the point where I won't wear anything but Keen's. I've tried other brands - both more and less expensive - and they all breakdown in short order (I do a lot of walking/hiking.) My Keen's not only hold well, but seem to get more comfortable over time. My current pair are four years old and in perfect condition despite their mileage. In contrast, I destroyed a pair of Columbia hiking shoes in less than six months. These sandals are comfortable with socks (at work) or without (everywhere else). The support and quality are top notch.
