Great Shoe...BUT - Husband was so excited to receive this gift. They were exactly as he remembered them - the fit, the look, the feel. However, the smell of the rubber on the sole is overwhelming. We've had to air them out and they still smell when they get warm.

The shoe of choice - I have been purchasing this shoe for the last ten years because it is a classic sneaker made of quality materials that appear timeless. Both comfortable and timeless. Before Nike there was Adidas.

Gone retro... Loved this shoe when I was in high school and I still love it now. Very comfortable and my kids think I'm "cool" now!!!

Classic - Great shoe. Pretty comfortable. Traction is good unless the surface is dusty. Tongue of shoe is like a vinyl fabric and they squeek a bit, but not too bad.

The Best Adidas Shoes Still on the Market!! It took me awhile to find the right Adidas; they are just not as common anymore which is truly a shame. I have found them to be just as I remember: snug, comfy, and lookin so fine! All I need now is a red pair.

Love these kicks! I have owned these for years and have been looking ALL over for a replacement pair, now I have them! I'm SO excited!

LOVE these! Amazingly comfy, and sooo cool. I have only worn them once so far and got tons of compliments. I could walk for hours in these. A little more arch support or cushioning would be nice, but they are actually really comfortable considering how simple they are. Will definitely be buying more pairs.

Hot shoes - You can't tell from the picture but the front of the shoe is tapered, which I personally don't like, but it's a minor point most people probably don't even notice. The tongue is a weird material that's kind of stiff. On another side note the shoes reek like plastic and other chemicals when you first get them. After a couple weeks of breaking the shoes in, most of the problems go away, and you got some nice kicks.

Read all the reviews. Bought 'em. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE 'em! Yes the smell @ first is not awesome. BUT...it's not bad enough to stink up your closet! Or even a suitcase! After 3 weeks the smell is virtually gone, and I did not use Febreze or anything like that. They are really comfortable, and super retro-stylish! I'm an Adidas lover and am constantly in search of classic Adidas styles. These were exactly what I was looking for!

Wonderful shoe - I love this shoe. The comfort is great, the fit is a little narrower then it said it was but I think that it has to do with it being new. And the price is great.

Adidas wins with me - I purchased this shoe and have to say it is the most comfortable athletic shoe I have purchased recently.

Stinky, but nice - I like this shoe a lot. It's smart looking with great support. It does smell, but the smell goes away after a couple of weeks of wear.

Classics never change - Same fit and look I remember from 35 years ago, and same odd tuna smell from the soles, but you can get over that for this retro-stylish and comfortable lounge shoe.

The smell does go away - My husband is a big fan of retro sneakers and really wanted a pair of these. So I bought him a pair and my first thought was, "Whoo, I should have listened to those reviews where they talk about the smell." But no problem... I immediately took them out of the box, sprayed them with Febreze, and left them to air out for a few days. The smell was still there when I gave them to him, but much fainter. Now he's worn them a few times and you'd have to have your nose right up against the shoe to smell anything. My husband loves them - super cool-looking shoes!

BUYER BEWARE - I should have paid attention when I read the reviews for this shoe. It looks great, but... It smells horrible! Absolutely terrible, the smell will not come out, no matter what you do. Soap and water won't even work. It's terrible. The tongue is very long and bothersome, although I never had a chance to wear it out since the smell of fish was so nauseating. The shoe comes wrapped in plastic, keeping whatever smell it is locked in the suede. The shoe had something gummy all over the suede as well. It's terrible. If you even touch the shoe, the smell will come off on your hands. I would definitely not recommend buying this shoe from Zappos.com.

Showing Gazelle some love. Love the comfort and styling of this classic shoe and the look of the shoe clearly stands the test of time. The Adidas Originals Gazelle will always be one of many favorite shoes from Adidas. Thank You Zappos for carrying this shoe for I could not find it anywhere else.

Get a half size bigger - Great shoes, look great, feel decent, and yes, they smell awful (but that went away quickly). I did need to return my first pair though; the sizing seemed a half size smaller than what I usually wear. So you may want to buy a half size bigger. My larger pair fits great.

Excellent shoes. Very satisfied with recent order. Excellent service received from Zappos.com. "Fishy" smell right out of box, but dissipates after a couple weeks. Shoes tend to run a half size large.

GREAT shoe and AMAZING service!! Amazing shoe! It is incredibly comfortable and easy to break in. If you're between a 10 - 10 1/2 I'd recommend going with the 10. Adidas originals in my opinion mostly all run about a half size large. Zappos service is the BEST in the business. When I say business, I mean all of retail…period. That is extremely rare these days.

Good, but smelly... I love the way the gazelles look. They fit well too, they're not narrow or anything like that and I ordered my normal size. But they do have a strange scent to them- fish like in fact. It's fairly strong too. You don't need to get up close to get a good whiff of it. I don't know what it is, but I think it's the suede or something that is used because the stench is particularly on the outside of the shoe. But whatever it is stinky and it hasn't faded since I first wore them. That's the only problem with these shoes. The smell takes away from how the shoe looks and feels a little bit, for me anyways.

Dandy shoes - Absolutely comfortable! True to size, with wiggle room for toes but snug support. Took a while to get used to the high tongue but after wearing them for a while it has softened and is comfortable. I love my Gazelles!

Great shoe but arrived smelling like fish! The Gazelle is a great shoe. Have owned and worn a pair (black and blue versions) since I was a freshman in high school in '93. Ordering through Zappos was great, however instead of that nice new sneaker smell they reeked of rotting fish (obviously some weird chemical smell)! I’ve been wearing the shoes for a couple weeks now assuming the smell would naturally fade, but you can still smell 'em from a couple meters away. Very weird and I’ve had to explain to people so they don't think I farted or something. I don't think I can exchange them anymore.

Love my Gazelles - Love these. Great price received them the next day. Great customer service. Thanks for a great experience - I wish you had more colors available in my size!
