These are the best ballet flats I have ever owned. I bought the blue, then straight away came back and bought the red suede. So comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and very high arches (there is no arch support in these, but it's not that kind of shoe) and I have worn them all day long with no pain. They mold perfectly to your feet. I did order a half size up and they were still tight, but have now stretched perfectly. I tried so many flats. Lucky Brand Emmie, Frye Carson, Cole Haan Air Bacara, just to name a few - and nothing compares to these. Love, love, LOVE!

I had previously bought the sloop in black and loved them! Yes, love! But when I bought the brown I noticed the finish was not as I had hoped and the outer finish looked worn even before I got them. Yes, they are still comfy...but a little disappointed in the appearance. Get a half size larger and you'll be happier...after all, they are Italian!

I love these shoes...my second pair. The first pair was suede, this one is leather...so I can wear it without worrying about wet pavement. The reason for the 4 star in comfort is the lack of arch support, but I find I can wear them all day anyway. I needed flats that I can wear with jeans, casual skirts and dresses as well as shorts. This style works perfectly.

I have several pairs of French Soles, two of them are the sloop style. I ordered the Navy pair this time. I have to say, the fit is much smaller than the previous pairs I've purchased. I suggest ordering a full size up because they don't seem to be stretching like I thought they would. Also, the navy color is much more like a royal purple, definitely not navy. But, I'm still a huge French Sole fan.

This was a shoe I would expect a "big box" store to carry. There is nothing to it, too small, no arch support, might as well be bare foot. Cute style, but not for me. Very overpriced!

This is a great flat for wide feet! Even though these do not come in wide widths, the leather is very supple and soft - yet it feels sturdy and well-made. Since I have wide feet, I ordered my normal size. They felt a little snug at first, but they do stretch after a few wears, so I would recommend ordering a half-size down for medium width or narrow feet.

Okay, I wish I had read the comment where someone already warned of this, but the "blue" is actually purple. Hence the 2 stars. They also run slightly small. Cute comfy show otherwise but must be returned.

I purchased a pair of these shoes in brown nappa, loved them, and ordered a pair in black leather. Unfortunately, even though I had ordered the same size, they came in much smaller, and I had to return them.

I just received the "Dark Blue" Sloop and wanted to let others know that this is actually violet. The picture on my monitor was accurate but whoever is writing the description is color blind. If you are looking to match, do as you would for any violet color, that is not blue but not purple either, but somewhere in between. Also, I highly recommend ordering a half size up if you like toe room or if your foot runs wide. If not, stick to actual size. Yes, these flats are leather and they will stretch but not as much as a half size larger. Hope this helps.

These shoes are so cute! They are very much like a ballet slipper. I can see what the other reviewer meant. I returned them (at a half-size bigger...they do run small, it seems...) because my big toe stuck up a bit and you could see it poking at the toe of the shoe. I thought it was just my foot but had a friend try it on and the same thing happened.

I read all the reviews for the French Sole Sloop and thought these might finally be a pair of ballet flats that do not hurt my bunions. They are cute but top edge hits the worst spot on my feet, instantly causing bunion pain. I couldn't walk across the room. I am returning them and the search will continue.

Ran much smaller than the Zeppa style. Cute, but much too small. Had expected to wear them right out of the box like the Zeppas but instead they will be going back. Shame.

I love French Sole shoes. If you like the feeling of walking barefoot, these shoes are right for you. They are very comfortable and the round toe cap gives your toes wiggle room. The style goes with casual skinny jeans as well as dresses/skirts.

These are great little flats. I would say they run true to size, although when you first take them out of the box, you will think they run small and likely have to fight the urge to return them for a half size up. Don't do it! They will be tight the first few wears but then they stretch out quite quickly, and if you already sized up, they'll likely be too big. After a week or so, my true size fit like a glove despite initially being uncomfortably tight. And when I say a glove, I mean just that: no chafing, no rubbing (no blisters!). I'm very particular about my flats as I'm quite blister-prone and these are great in that regard. However, as almost everyone else has noted, these have absolutely NO arch support. The sole is so thin that you can feel every little pebble and uneven surface groove you walk on. Even on indoor surfaces, the utter lack of support makes these a poor choice if you have any extended walking/standing to do. They're perfect for short periods of time, but I absolutely cannot wear them for more than a few hours without sore feet. The thinness of the sole also makes me worry a bit for their durability. A couple months of wear and they're fine, but I don't know quite how long these will last. The other thing that bugs me is that because they were tight out of the box, my big toe butted up quite prominently against the leather. This problem abated as they stretched, but it left permanent bulges in the leather, which to be honest don't look too great. It's not a major problem, but it is something frustrating and that has kept me from purchasing another pair. Well, that and the price-- the leather is high quality, but I still can't help but feel like the asking price is a lot of money for such a thin, delicate flat.

I love these shoes. They are cute and comfy. I liked the red so much that I got them in black too. At first I ordered my normal size of 9.5, but I had to exchange them for a 10. My feet are medium width, perhaps that's why. There is no arch support, but I like the feel.

Great looking shoe but the 8 1/2 is at least 1 full size too small for me. I usually wear 8 1/2 but can get away with 8 if the shoe is wide. The 8 1/2 sloop is definitely too short for me.

Disappointed. Ordered the black snake Luxor in my normal size 11, could not get them on without a big struggle. Maybe this leather is just stiffer than softer suede so re ordering another pair in the bronze metallic suede and crossing my fingers!

Love these shoes. This is my second pair -- I also have the black. They are comfortable and easy to wear. Note -- they do not have any support or much cushioning on the bottom, so it's almost like going barefoot. The color is very close to what is pictured. Not too much shine -- goes with anything.

I'm completely in love with these shoes! After lusting after these shoes for over a year, I finally got over the price tag and ordered a pair. I'm so glad I did, because they've been on my feet ever since I opened the box. I wear good feet slim arch supports and they work in these shoes without causing any extra bulk or rubbing. I normally wear a size 8, but ordered an 8.5 as suggested by other reviewers and the manufacturer. The red color is really lovely. Buy these shoes, ladies- you won't be disappointed.

Another review said these shoes feel like ballet slippers. They do. It's great. They conform to your foot perfectly, and event though they do not have any arch support or thick soles, they are comfortable to walk in all day. Not sure about standing, but walking around in these doesn't leave me with sore feet, ankles, etc. Love these shoes. Well worth the money.

These are beautiful, comfortable shoes. I could do without the advertising flap on the outside of the heel, but companies seem to like over branding. I haven't worn them for a long period of time and don't know that I will because there is no, absolutely no arch support, but for a short period of time I am fine. Once again, beautiful shoes.

I loved these shoes the first few months I had them, maybe I just over wear them but they have stretched out quite a bit since buying them less than 6 months ago, now they are very wide and sometimes my foot comes out! I might buy another pair in a different color, if I do it will be a size smaller that I would normally get. Otherwise they are super cute and very comfortable.

I wear size 10 and took the advice of others and ordered the black nappa in my true size, 10 M, to allow the shoe to stretch if it was tight. My left foot is a little larger and wider than my right foot and I could tell a difference in my foot sizes as soon as i tried these on. Within an hour, my right shoe molded to my right foot perfectly, and it looked beautiful, like a dancers shoe, and was super comfortable. My larger left foot took a few days to break in and at times i was wondering if i should have returned them, as my left foot was bulging at the sides, and it was tight. However, i did alot of research on these flats and wanted to give them a chance. Well, it paid off as they stretched and molded to my left foot and they now fit both my feet like expensive lambskin gloves - sleek, contoured, & elongated. I absolutely love them. I feel this shoe is what I have needed for many years as feet now have customized flats that are unique to the shape of each of my feet. Some other features worth mentioning are: (1) the back heel is low like many high end flats (Lanvin), so the shoe is sleek, feminine, and covers "toe cleavage" (2) these shoes are made in Italy. To me that is a big deal as it seems most flats (and shoes) in this price range are made in china (3) leather is soft and good thickness. Lastly, Prior to buying these French Soles, i was addicted to SueLondon split sole slippers which are 180$ and up but the leather kept detaching from the bottom soles after 6 months to a year (shoe is delicate), so I have been looking to switch brands. I considered Tieks but they look like they copied the blueprint of Sue London and the soles are identical leading me to believe they will detach after a few months of street wear. The French sole shoe seems to have a strong and thicker sole so I hope they last longer (too soon to tell but I am hopeful). I plan to purchase these in pewter next. Overall, I highly recommend them and they are my favorite shoe right now.

Amazing comfort in these shoes, would love to get them in other colors. Am waiting for brighter spring colors. I bought my exact size, as they fit and will stretch very much like a ballet shoe, as others have written. Just so darn cute with the added bonus of comfort.
