Asics shoe review -
Very pleased with the product and was able to get the shoe my son wanted because the stores did not carry his size. Thanks! Great delivery time also.

I liked the Kayano 12 -
I am on my 3rd generation of the Kayanos and I don't like the 13 as much as the 12. I recently bought a new 12 and confirmed that the 13 did not fit as well. There was too much movement in the heel.

Solid shoe for over pronation -
A great shoe for people who need stronger arch support. However after a couple of runs I removed the insole and added a different arch support sole. Still a great shoe.

Danish review of a male blue version -
It is my 4th in a row. For the first time I am not giving it a straight "5". It is harder and stiffer than the previous versions. Nevertheless the shoe is highly recommendable relative to other all-round shoes. I run approx 80 km/month.

Well balanced shoe -
I needed a shoe for a slight pronation and was recommended the Kayano. It seems to be adjusting my gait. I am blistering from it though. It seems to run larger than my other shoes, probably why I am blistering. Very good cushioning and support.

Good shoe -
Very comfortable shoe. I think that shoe companies are trying to see who can release the most unattractive sneaker, but as long as you care about having a good fit and a decent shoe, I guess it really doesn't matter what it looks like.

Good fit and a well-built shoe. Cushioning is good, but not soft. Shoe is heavier than what I'd expect in this price range.

Kayano 13 -
Not nearly as well fitting at the previous Kayano's I have owned. The IX, X and XII that I owned wore much better as well as fit better. I do not get the overall support that I have from the previous models as well. I do a lot of hill running and do not get the support I desire.

Not what I thought they would be -
I had been running in the line a step below these and thought I would amp it up for the marathon I am training for and I am very disappointed. They have given me massive shin splints and I wish I could go back to me older style. They are really light weight and I think I would dig them if they didn't make my shins scream. Since you can't tell this thing by trying out your shoes on carpet, I’m a bit stuck with these.

um, the level below this shoe is so much better in my opinion

Run Don't Walk In These Shoes -
Overall the ASICS Gel-Kayano 13 appears to be an extremely well built and durable running shoe. I am a serious walker and walk between 20 and 40 miles a week. When I first got the Kayano 13, I couldn't wait to get them into my rotation of 3 or 4 pairs of walking shoes I use in my routine. (I have found that rotating between 3 or 4 shoes with slightly different lasts keeps my feet from getting sore. The people at Zappos must really love me as a customer but my wife thinks I am nuts. But, really, the muscles and ligaments in my feet tend to relax if I don't use the same shoes for each walk.) After about 15 miles over two weeks, I had some serious problems with these shoes AS A WALKING SHOE. First, I had a real problem being able to walk heel to toe. It seems like they really lock down the foot to shoe platform. On one instance when the shoe did not want to roll heel to toe, I suffered a mild sprain in my knee. Second, the heel of the shoe has a pronounced ridge that tightly grips the side of the heel. I got a blister from that. That's the first time I've gotten a heel blister in about 30 pairs of shoes. These shoes have tremendous arch support but you have to be very careful with orthotics. I wear a slight lift built into a moderate arch support in my right shoe. While these shoes are very broad, the orthotic shifted the centerline balance of my foot and my right foot tended to roll side ways on uneven surfaces. I found this out when I stepped on a rounded curb and rolled my ankle over and literally landed on my ear. I corrected this situation by removing the orthotic and using a simple wedge lift placed under the shoe liner. Now, for what's really good about these shoes, they seem perfectly engineered for a running gait. I don't run because of arthritis but found myself in a situation where I had to run for a couple of hundred yards. I was blown away with how I fell into a perfect stride with these shoes. Too bad I can't use them for running.
Bottom-line is that this is a specialty shoe to be used for running and not for walking or casual wear.

No good -
Well I normally wear the Asics Gel Trainers DS, but I decided to make a change. I bought these shoes because I wanted to add a little weight to my training shoes. I started to run with these and after a while they got so heavy and I was stomping so loud and hard. My arches on my feet felt like they were falling. The only thing that I hate about these shoes is they are so heavy.

Anomaly?
I have owned 4 pairs of the Kayano Gel Series, including two of the current 13 model. I really loved this shoe yet for some reason this particular pair does not seem as comfortable as the last - - the support does not hit my foot in the same place. Also, after less than two weeks the treads are starting to separate. Maybe Asics changed sub-contracting factories or QC has gone down. I am disappointed.

Big disappointment -
I bought this shoe because I have worn Gel-Kayano's for several years and loved them. NOT this one!! I can’t return them because I threw out the box since I trusted Asics to continue to improve this model, or they would be returned.
Leg cramps after 20 minutes on treadmill. Switched back to my old Kayanos and no problem. The shoe feels skimpy and cheap.

Stick with Gel Nimbus -
These shoes are awful. Love Asics but not Kayano's. Too firm. Has caused shin splints. After 2 weeks I am on this site to buy Gel-Nimbus.

Cool looking, excellent arch support but BAD QUALITY -
After browsing lots of shoes and reading excellent reviews I decided to buy this shoe. I am having plantar fasciitis problems so a shoe with excellent arch support was a MUST requirement for me; I found this one as an excellent match. Everything in these shoes is fine but the quality is poor. Within 2 weeks left sole came out (in the corner); I sent the shoes back...thanks to excellent customer support from Zappos. They immediately sent me the replacement...the same shoes. After two weeks the right one stitching came off (about two inches)...at this time I decided to move on...
I opted for New Balance M1222...same price...so far no problem...
May be my luck but two pairs and had issues.

Bad luck 13 -
This shoe kills my outer part of my foot. I run about 40-50 miles a week and this shoe hurts as soon as I put it on. My foot is average width and arch. I alternate shoes often and this one hurts immediately into my run. I would not recommend this shoe to someone with a normal arch and normal width foot.
